  1. Howard White~ I will forever cherish every memory I have of you. I have countless visions of you bitching and bitching about not being able to get on the next load because nobody would pack for you. I (or anyone) would pack for you in record time, so you could make that load and stop bitching. Of course, by then, you would be pissed off about something else and choose to leave! Or.... I would start packing your rig (just in case you wanted to jump) and you'd "kindly" tell me you were going home and not to bother. Okay, cool. I would move on to another rig or get myself geared up for the next load. Then you'd suddenly decide to get on the load and be pissed that you weren't packed. And you'd leave... I'm gonna throw this out there....You could be a little fickle at times... a bit difficult and opinionated. Kinda persnickety. But you jumped more in the last few winters than most of us youngins jump all summer long. Your tolerance for bullshit and ignorance was very low...All because you seemed to care very deeply about this crazy skydiving thing we all partake in. At least that's what I think. If you were here, you might rag on me for being too sentimental. Fine. FU. In all seriousness and with a heavy heart.... Thank you, Howard, for everything you put out there. You were always authentic. I feel very fortunate to have gotten to know you... after already knowing you for a few years. Fly free Howard...... and pack yer own goddamn parachute. 4. As music dependent as I am- I just don't understand the need for an additional (unnecessary) factor in what we do. Just a couple of years ago, sitting towards the front of the otter, the pilot told the jumper (instructor) sitting next to me, to lose the ipod- he may need to relate important information to him immediately. The instructor huffed, put away the ipod and then whipped out his cell phone to text something to someone. ???? Has skydiving become so boring and trivial that we need something else to entertain us while doing it???? 5. beautiful pictures. "He who jumps into the void owes no explanation to those who stand and watch."~Jean Luc Godard
  6. I've made some incredible friendships through skydiving- and those friendships are the ones that transcend skydiving and are not solely based on jumping or hanging at the dz. I also made several "friends" that, just like high school, are not really true friendships and are best left to fizzle out. Then there are those smiling faces and warm hugs from fellow jumpers that I may not know very well (yet), and always give good vibes. It's just like any other arena in life; true friendships are true friendships, regardless of their origin. 7. Do you remember what St Hubbins is the patron saint of? Quality Footwear. "He who jumps into the void owes no explanation to those who stand and watch."~Jean Luc Godard
  8. Lt. Hookstratten: May I start by saying how thrilled we are to have you here. We are such fans of your music and all of your records. I'm not speaking of yours personally, but the whole genre of the rock and roll. ------------------------------------------------------------- David St. Hubbins: Well, I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I weren't under such heavy sedation. ------------------------------------------------------------- Nigel Tufnel: We've got Armadillos in our trousers. It's really quite frightening. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Ian Faith: The Boston gig has been cancelled... David St. Hubbins: What? Ian Faith: Yeah. I wouldn't worry about it though, it's not a big college town. -------------------------------------------------------------- and my favorite...... David St. Hubbins: It's such a fine line between stupid, and clever. "He who jumps into the void owes no explanation to those who stand and watch."~Jean Luc Godard
  9. No. I would teach a child to pack for fun- but not for an actual skydive. What if something goes wrong? How would a child (no matter what age) cope with that? "He who jumps into the void owes no explanation to those who stand and watch."~Jean Luc Godard
  10. I was going to say clouds until I saw the kittens. Kittens trump all. "He who jumps into the void owes no explanation to those who stand and watch."~Jean Luc Godard
  11. I have neither a dog or any children, but my dzs have a handful of both running around at all times. I really enjoy getting a small dose of well behaved dogs and kids. I think they can add a nice vibe to a day of jumping. Every now and then it's fun to take a run with one of the dogs or help a kid open a juice box. No problemo. The only real issue I've had was with a jumper's son, when I was deep in nylon during a heavy day of packing. This 7 year old (a repeat offender who's mother had been spoken to several times) was all over the packing mat, stepping on gear, tripping on lines, etc while his mother sat idly by doing NOTHING. That's what upset me. Please don't make me take time away from my work to get your kid under control and away from where he's not supposed to be. That's all. Otherwise~bring 'em. Ian~ Chaos is so pretty! What a sweetie pie.
  12. Cleaner? Do you do windows? Actually, when in college, I had jobs in gas stations & resturants and one of my collateral duties was to clean the bathrooms and the Ladies Room was always the worst! That's because of the "hover" That is exactly why. Perhaps it's my many years of utilizing the "hover" technique that messed me up when I started sit flying- I was used to leaning forward. Damn backsliding! "He who jumps into the void owes no explanation to those who stand and watch."~Jean Luc Godard

  15. Hey Flockers, Thanks for the girlie t-shirt. I will wear it as soon as I (finally) make my wingsuit jump... Rick said my file for an extension wasn't valid, so I guess I'll be fined?? Ysterday was fun. Love playing in nylon... xoxojojo ps too bad purple mike is so camera shy... "He who jumps into the void owes no explanation to those who stand and watch."~Jean Luc Godard
