  7. +1. Bought a brand new infinity w/ PD Optimum 126...second jump on the system was a reserve ride (damn diablo's) and I LOVED the 126. 8. I'm at a DZ w/ only strongs as well, so I'd like to know...but is it too much to ask a question in this forum and get a serious answer w/o all the bullshit answers of "Strongs are turds" "Don't jump strongs" blah blah blah. ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!

  10. Ok, now that you put the name out there, I'm jumping in. Something just don't seem right here to me. At any point in time I can give Paul a call or a text, and he gets right back to me or answers right then. I'm in NC and with me running my DZ, after ALL my students get their A license, the first person I call, the absolute FIRST (and quite often only as he helps me out) is Paul. I do know he travels a lot, and he just may be out traveling right now. Regardless of your claims, I will continue to buy from Paul, and I will continue to send students and friends to him for gear. Matter of fact, the current gear I'm jumping right now is from Paul, and I couldn't be happier. (Voodoo w/ Cobalt 135 w/ H. Mod, oh how sweet it is). ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!

  12. Aflac's Accident Indemnity Advantage just got revised this year, so it is back to covering skydiving. Last year it didn't, and this year it does, I'd highly recommend it. ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!
  13. I'm looking at this being the biggest issue. My dropzone has this problem. I am the Assistant Manager of my dropzone (and quite frankly the OPERATOR) and lead tandem instructor. However, I am only a TI and a coach. I do not have a full time AFF instructor, only a PRN. I have had a few students once they are placed on AFF or Coach status just "show up" especially on busy days and get pissed just like this when we can't accommodate them b/c they didn't schedule time to be there. I could care less about the money, coach jumps are 10x more fun to me, but I have to follow up with whoever made an appointment. Currently I have one student who just made it off of coach status and he would call and tell me he wanted to do "x" amount of coach jumps or aff jumps (when he was on aff) and show up. I would schedule my availability for him, and when tandems would call to schedule, that time slot was full. My biggest pet peeve REGARDLESS of whether you drop the package price up front or pay by the jump, is when a student gets pissed off b/c he can't jump, and thinks that b/c he's not a tandem student anymore, he doesn't have to schedule. If you need an instructor whether it be coach, static line, aff, or tandem, a reservation is the best (not sure-fire) but best way to ensure you get your jumps in, b/c the DZO/DZM/DZWTFE shouldn't over book and make sure they have the staff there, BUT ONLY IF THEY KNOW WHAT IS ON THE BOOKS!!! Edit: Anti-Grammar-nazified ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!
  14. Maybe the OP is thinking DZO is Dropzone Operator. I've heard it used many times, know most of the instructors at Suffolk, and something just don't seem right. I know Don, and he even flew down to help me in NC one weekend b/c they had too MANY instructors... ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!

+1 on the change ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!
  16. If they rock so much, how come you aren't joining us in the Blackberry exchange and conference calls/chats? You sure are missing out while you sit there and play the slot machines trying to figure out what to eat. Now go light a cigarette with your digital zippo!!! ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!
  17. So I was wondrin...you say the trees are cut and case over? Other than planting new trees, if the old debris from the cut ones are still there, can we use some wood glue and glue the old ones back up? Sorry...one of those mornings. ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!
  18. By all means. Please visit. I will be going back to re-asses my opinion. The facilities themselves were great...cept the bunkhouse, hahaha. That should be of no concern, it's a DZ bunkhouse...I don't expect much. ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!
  19. Not at all. Filming wasn't occuring at the exact time I was there, aka done for the day. People were just standing around. I could care less if I was in the movie. Didn't mean to Hijack the thread. Not about Sebastian. I'm pissed about RBAF. This just brought up my experience w/ them. ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!
  20. Please don't take it as bashing sebastian...but both. I tried to walk around and introduce myself and see who might wanna make a jump...and just got a real snobbish environment from the whole thing. I'm gonna blame it on RBAF...b/c I intend on going back to Sebastian in the busy season. I never write a DZ off from a first time experience unless it is EXTREMELY shitty. Slow season and Famous assholes were there, so there's my excuse for them. ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!
  21. Yeah I know...dude! ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!
  22. And it's not just the base. When I traveled to Florida for a week, I hit Deland (loved it), Zhills (Loved it), and then Sebastian. Redbull was there filming. I've got enough jumps to hold my own w/ anyone out there (not super great but not left behind on any jump turning vertical or horizontal points) and got shit on royally. B/c Redbull was there, I got a lot of scoffs and arrogant asshat comments...b/c this place was too hot to touch b/c they were there!! ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!
  23. Her cough must be contagious...cuz I think I've got it too. *cough* *COUGH* bullshit *cough* *PHLEM* ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!

  25. It's along the same lines as the thread "Visiting Jumpers that trash your DZ". You say it's not that important or breaking any laws. Well shit, when you leave your trash at someone else's DZ, that's not against the law either. It's about respect, and leaving things the way you found them. That exit point will never EVER be the same, and it was one of the more famous ones out there. So many videos are out there with people coming off of this point, and every single time, w/o thinking twice, most people can tell exactly what spot this is. This was just rude and they had 100% no regard for the other thousands of people who travel from AROUND THE WORLD to jump this spot. Fuck Redbull! ...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!
