  1. Forget about the wingloading aspect for me personally, i weigh with gear around 270 lbs ish sometimes lower, but i have ordered a 150 as a reserve with a 170 main..... due to various reasons. Forget about my jump numbers and tell me if this is dangerous because of blow outs on my reserve if opening at high speed... I am a little confused about how you swooping boys can max out a canopy with a wl of 2.3 or somthing and it won't just rip apart.. despite this being way above manufacutres recomendations.... Are the recomendations there due to the worry of comming in to fast or because of your canopy ripping apart?? If i have a 150 at my weight do i need a different reserve other than a techno?? for blow out reasons alone? Thanks for your help
  2. Or at least replaced it. Yes, removed and replaced. Like when you take out an old car part and replace it with a new one. So when the new part wears out after time will you get a new one? What brand will you go for next time? Its been my experience that as long as desire is fed, it will grow and grow. Having a newfound desire for the love in the eternal God offers eternal growth. A bit off the topic, but you seem pretty bitten by this christianity thing.. If i punched you in the face would you turn the other cheek? Or do you only get this when you grow eternaly?? You can pm your awnser to me, either or. I'm not relegious, but I know there is a god? ME!!
  3. from 90 odd jumps i was using a safire 190, which i found to have a lot better nicer flare than the spectre 210 that i had been jumping before. Saying that i then borowed a saber 210 at jump number 130 and found the canopy to be super responsive whilst high up and a lot more forgiving on landing with a shorter 2 stage flare, (the break lines where set slightly differently, but the difference did not upset my bounce bingo odds) Last week i flew a pilot 188 which was in high winds, and after seeing somones canopy collapse i did not really want to mess about with it to much, but again really nice flight and able to dig into the wind a lot more than on the safire, only 2 square foot difference but it really made headway in high winds. I myself prefer the semi eyliptical...although i thought i had no real issues with the flight or landing or anything on a video that was shot of me i was very surprised of how vertical the canopy got in deep riser and deep break turns, (slightly shocked as well) so I may have got away with somthing bad happening in the past with such big inputs. I backed off a bit after that and took a canopy course, (best thing i ever did) and got some great advice from the guys in the know. So that is my advice, take a canopy course, demo a few different canopys, and find the one that you enjoy and the one they think would suit you. Good luck
  4. you're a very smart man doug, that was just my toughts.. He's not smart ,he just wanted more of a challange when he met her during his trip to england.
  5. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/1538546/To-offend-the-French,-fondle-a-slice-of-cheese.html Gallic Shrug - Thats why i like you
  6. Bigway, as a person who's parents lives in france (10years) and after growing up there, i feel it is acceptable for me to take the piss out of the Shoulder shrug attitude of french suppliers (not just parachuting) It is why the economy has never really taken off, 35 hr working wks, and employment laws, which make it almost impossible to sack somone despit poor production or service means that you just have to accept this attitude whilst in the country. But you were'nt to know about my first hand experiance bigway, i understand how the comment mght have looked a bit anglo piss taking.
  7. I take my clothes and shoes off, then puke up breakfast as part of my malfunction drills... If it gets really hairy i shit myself as well
  8. NOt so much, my main problem with PDF is that they still have not made the rig, thats ok.. shit happens, so we make the call, and say " look it has taken 12 months more to get the rig than you quoted... you guys have fucked up... as a way of showing good customer relations you should try and help me out. My needs have now changed, i would like a smaller rig so that i can keep the same container for 10 years or whatever, my weight and stufff will mean that i won't go below a 150 for quite sometime. so do me a favour and say , not a problem, there response was, " don't worry you can fit a 170 in this already" (but not a 150 safely) "BTW the canopy will be stock rather than the colours you paid for" (thanks for the effort boys) I'm not bothered about colour or much at all, but if i'm pissing the best part of $5000 away i want somthing that will last me for more than 2 years. If i had the rig after 3 months I would have been soooo happy, and about £300 better off. (rig hire) Bigway you have hit the nail on the head... PDF please contact me, and make amends, stop being so......French??
  9. Airtwardo i'm going to take your advise, as i said i would last week, 120 here i come..... treat me nice ...
  10. I've had it with PDF, due to there lack of giving a shit about the avarage sport jumper. I'm in to my 2nd year of jumping now, but have been held back as i am still rigless, i know there are a few out there who don't like private greivences / disputes comming out in the open, but i'm not getting anywhere talking face to face with PDF If i came into my resturaunt and ordered a steak, i would expect to see it that evening, if something went wrong in the kitchen, then i would expect to be told, if they could not make it that night, i would expect an apology. PDF if your out there, If things are up the shitter, just make an effort with your customers, it may be the only rig that i buy from you in my life, but that should not give you the right to treat me like a fool, bend your self over backwards in making me a smaller rig, and not telling me things are not possible. I know i ordered a 190, but that was 9 months ago, I now fly a 170 when i hire rigs out, and by the time i get it in december I may want a 150 pending on my progress.. You fucked up, i'm living with it, now show some balls, and make amends.
  11. If i see the light, surely it was to late!! Just have to bullshit my way through St peter... I'm sorry i just could not help myself... I am trying to reform.... its just going to take time

  14. Everyone knows that the english are generally prudent and a little quiet. But most people i know get up to some freaky shit, lawyers, doctors, you name the profession, and i'll give you an example of them getting the balls kicked, there tits zapped, or having large objects shoved up them.... Crack on with the domo stuff, Its a good way to earn a shed load of money quickly... your after work drinks with fellow dom's will be hilarious, you get to laugh out loud about the guy who wanted you to burn his balls.... whilst crying for more. Most of the skydivers are Alpha males / females anyway so they like to be in control, so you'd probally fit right in. I'm not into the spandex side of life but I have been to torture gardens a few times, went out with a tattoo covered spandex girl for some time, one of my fav girls i've been out with, (my parents loved her???) (my grandparents not so much) each to there own.... Is this domo place near belmont ave L stop per chance!!!!! I used to work at belmont army surplus back in the day, I remember a few crazy girls and boys who worked around there, who did all sorts of funny / wacky stuff.. Good luck with it all, You don't need a Shrink...other people need to stop being releigous wack jobs, The'll be blowing themselves up next in protest, crazy christians
  15. you started posting these b4 i started jumping, You've been jumping longer than i have been alive. Now thats scary
  16. And here we were thinking that you were way too Extreme for that. Could spelling, grammer, and punctuation also lie in your future ?? It's on my to do list, just after bitch slapping you to the ground. Don't get me wrong i'm still in a different catagory to most of you old timers, that catagory being extremely young, extremely buff....ish, and extremely talanted... Thats a fuck load of extreme for one man..... But untill my skills pay the bills i might.. just maybe, listen to what you have to say next time, when i inform you of my next great idea.....!!!
  17. I put a electric collar on one of those on my kids, did them the world of good, minus the nervous tick they now have when they do somthing wrong. Getting a slap on the butt has nothing to do with relegion or anything, it is a means of disapline for a young person who's brain is developing, And still can not understand the difference of right and wrong, If you can explain to your kid why it was wrong and they don't need extra punishment and never do it again than well done, but not all kids are like that, they play up, they will push you to see how much they can get away with, spanking should be a last resort, but still part f the parental armory. The point of it not being mentioned in the old testement, is a bit farcical, sex and marrige with 8-12 years old is also not mentioned in the bible but was common, does that make it wrong or right?? I was caned at school, which taught you many things and temporay resentmant, but made me stronger as a person and never did me any harm.
  18. going through some of the old threads whilst searching for these legends and how they kicked the bucket came up with some intresting things.... The other gun ho heros who sid they would be fine and ended up with massive head injuries, the downsizing boys who had advanced skills, so went onto crossed braced canopys and spun them selves up. I know I do fit into the above catagory, but never really saw it untill going into old threads and seeing the guys who are no longer with us due to thinking they had the skills, and then could not find them when it all went wrong. Don't take me wrong i'm not going to upsize as i enjoy the speed my wingloading and canopy gives, and am willing to take the risk, (kind of like me driving a motorbike at high speed, i know its risky, but do love it) But I'm going to take another canopy course as soon as possible and may even listen a bit more to some of you guys who have scraped a few of your friends from the runways. Cracking post Sparky, first one that has actually made me think..
  19. This is skydiving not base jumping.... not everyone dies or gets injured.... I have more chance statistictly dying or breaking my bones on my bike than i have skydiving. To much scare mongering goes on dz.com, you can put that on my headstone when i go in
  20. Thanks for the explanation...Cool stuff, I'm sure you know i was not having a pop at the camera guy, Just trying to figure out what was hapening. This may seem a little sick and twisted but it has upped my intrest into Crw work. Such a lot of technical stuff to see and learn, hopefully i'll find a canopy suitible and come and join you boys one day.
  21. count me in make that a 4 way I'm of the anvil brother variety so lead is not needed, on me
  22. Fantastic video... my god that was super tight video work.... At one point it looks like your trying to hook yourself onto the top of his canopy, a newbie question, but why were you flying so close, i apriciate you have a high skill level but could you have made the situation worst, had you made contact. Glad all are well.
