  1. Hey everyone, I've been searching/reading the forums and misc. articles about getting into Wingsuits and Wingsuiting in general for the last couple years. However, I seek some additional advice for better preparation. As you can tell I only have 42 jumps, so I have a bit of time before I can get into it. The majority of my jumps have been practicing and honing my tracking skills. The rest; 2-Way RW, to work on my belly skills, levels, and proximity flying. I am hoping to progress to a pair of homemade Smoke Pants within the next 40 or so jumps. I plan on continuing this path until the magical 200 jumps . My gear setup is an Infinity Container with Dynamic Corners and a 9' Bridle. Spectre 210 and PD193R for canopies. However, I am still jumping student gear due to my jump number and wingloading. I hope to be on my equipment around jump 80-100, giving me another 100 jumps to get comfortable with the Spectre. I am pretty much looking for any advice, thoughts, etc; on my current plan. Thanks! -Dale
  2. I knew the tail number looked familiar, this plane is at my Home DZ. It is also equip with a very large Hook Knife ;). -Dale
  3. I knew something like this would happen, sucker me into buying a PS3 . -Dale
  4. I just placed an order for my new Infinity Container. I'm doing the same thing you mentioned, it was ordered with Dynamic Corners and Birdman Bridle. However, I will be jumping it regularly to 200 when I can actually wingsuit. I was told there were no ill-effects doing this. -Dale
  5. I decided to go with a baggy Firefly Freefly Suit, ordered it today. Can you join Anvil Brothers before getting your A?
  6. Thanks for the responses. BIGUN: He was the instructor I previously spoke with. It was his baggy jumpsuit that put me at 120 . lilchief: Thanks for the info, 160 mph . DanG: You said pretty much what my instructor recommended. I may just get a baggy freefly suit and go from there. -Dale
  7. I tried to search a bit, but didn't come up with what I was looking for. I'm curious if anyone has some first hand experience with multi-speed suits, especially the "Big Boys". I'm looking to buy a jumpsuit in the near future. I'm 6'2" at 225 lbs 255 lbs with gear. Don't hold me to the numbers on my neptune, but my average speed falling in a column of air with a relaxed arch was roughly 143 mph. The suit I was wearing is baggy around the legs and arms but pretty tight around the waist/torso/chest area. I was able to slow that down to 114 mph, but I was in a very exaggerated position. My jumps on a much bigger jumpsuit yielded a relaxed arch fall rate of 120. I didn't get to try and slow it down any during the jump. I want to be able to fly decent on my belly, but RW just isn't a Discipline I would like to pursue at the moment. After I'm decent on my belly, I would like to progress to Free Flying. My instructor suggested I buy a freefly suit and don't worry about getting a multi-speed. I don't question his judgement one bit, I would just like some more views on it. I'm a fairly impulsive person, so when randomly jump on something its really hard for me to break away from it . Anyways, I'm just looking for the flexibility to fall fast and real slow. Thanks! -Dale
  8. Great video! A bit off-topic, but what helmet is the jumper in the Black/Orange Suit wearing? -Dale

    New BASE game out.

Anyone else having problems with the Demo? I've installed on two separate machines, but both come up with a runtime error everytime I click start. Edit: Nevermind, I didn't install the Ageia Physx. -Dale
  11. TDog: It would require me to travel, and also cause me to wait as well. However, I've waited this long, whats another month or so . If I were to start again without tunnel time, I would feel inclined to do a tandem or two just to work on the nerves. Although, I have yet to find someone to push me : /. I've tried to talk a few of my friends into jumping so I would feel compelled to go up, but they have all backed out at last minute. A group from my local DZ seems to be planning a tunnel trip in July, so I am going to see if I can tag along. I've completed the Ground Course to start AFF 3-4 times now in hopes to start, but never did. Which is why I feel the need to do something to build confidence prior to the next attempt. So what do you think, wait for July do the tunnel time and start AFF, or try and suck it up and start now? Thanks for the replies, appreciate it
  12. Hi all, looking for a bit of advice here. It’s going on to 3 years now since my last jump (Tandem Cat. B). Things finally seem right to start jumping again, but I'm kind of overwhelmed with fear. I thought of maybe getting some tunnel time in before starting AFF. Does this seem like a good idea? My reasoning is, me going up with a mindset that I can some what fly stable on my belly than not knowing what to expect at all should boost my confidence. Thanks! -Dale
