  1. I don't know much about the local DZ. I don't have my own camera ATM nor a laptop or easily portable storage device to grab video. They charge $100 a jump to videotape someone jumping. As far as what I can handle, I am used to MPEG, AVI and WMV though prefer not to use WMV. I've never dealt with DV PAL, not really sure what it is. But if it is a new file type Im sure something can be found to either read it or convert it. Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  2. Ok I know this might be a long shot, but I will never know the answer unless I ask. Here's the deal. I'm still saving up to get licensed to jump, then I will have to save for my gear then for my camera gear. This will probably be a while considering my income. But I own a computer and have access to video editing program(s). The catch? I have no video. So I thought perhaps I could post on the forums and maybe some of you might have video that you either don't know how to edit into a jump video or raw footage you used for a jump video that you might let me play around with. My stipulations: 1.) I will not be using any of the videos for profit. 2.) If provided I will give credit to the featured jumpers and cameraperson(s) that shot the video. 3.) If requested I will give you a copy. All I ask is for some video and/or stillshots to play around with and permission to show it off to my friends. Both to show them the creativeness in my work and the joys of skydiving. (Yeah, Im working on converts even though Im not a licensed jumper yet.) Thanks, Jeff Feel free to instant message me with questions/concerns or to set up sending video. Or E-mail me at [email protected] Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  3. Ahh hell. If you guys don't mind someone who hasn't actually begun jumping yet: www.myspace.com/gothicmind Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  4. I don't know. I've dated a few hot party girls. They were rag dolls in bed. Good looking but not really good for much more than just laying there. Rather me a average looking woman that knows how to work it. Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  5. There were actually dolphins in the jug? I couldn't find any, did anyone actually see any dolphins? Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  6. lol mabye his dick got photographed on the down-flap. Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  7. Depends on what you are talking about. If someone comes out saying, "He/she abuses me." Then yes trial. If the police are called and they show up and some woman is cowering in a corner with a broken and bloodied face and the man is outside pacing with blood on his fist, then no. I have personally been to accident scenes where a drunk driver has been in an accident, part of a family of 5 killed, yet this drunk guy hardly has a scratch. Let me tell you, I sure as hell wished that a sawed off shotgun was part of a standard ambulance load-out. Not that being drunk is bad. Just don't drive. The justice system is over-rated. Guilty people go free because of stupid shit like a police officer taking his eyes off of a gun that was used in a crime. Mishandling of evidence. Breaking the chain of accountability I think it is called? But yeah, some things are just so damned obvious that no trial should be necessary. 8. I disagree to some extend. Spouses who abuse their significant other, drunk drivers that kill people and the like should be shot on the spot. However, rapists and child molesters, should be given the the childs mother for punishment. Unless of course she was in on the deal in which case, shoot 'em. But if mommy is allowed to do whatever she pleases to the perp, then I think that would be a better punishment. Or even dad for that case. I couldn't even begin to describe the torture I would put a man through if I had a daughter and found him to be molesting her. Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  9. Eh I refuse to pay a website for those kinds of services. Especially when nothing is guaranteed, which they CAN't guarantee anything. However plentyoffish.com is free and is a decent website IMO. Though I've had no luck. But Im just unattractive in so many ways. It's hard to find a lady that like being spanked. Umm I think I'll shut up now. Plentyoffish.com or collarme.com if your into that kind of stuff. Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  10. God that is worse than that chick that was calling me her boyfriend an hour after meeting me. She was super psycho. I had to tell her never to speak to me again the second day I knew her. We had spent a total time of about 3 hours together and I was finding notes on my door saying shit like, "Slit my wrists, call me if you care." Of course being an EMT I had to make sure she was ok, weren't even scratches on her wrist. I was like, "Get the f*** out of here and don't ever talk to me again." She started cryng about how I should give her another chance, we can work things out and stuff. Thank goodness she never went to a tarot reader. 11. Is he mad because he is worried about you jumping out of possibly malfunction airplanes and is afraid you'll get hurt? Or are you guys upset simply because you don't spend as much time together as you would like to? If he is worth it, then you could work something out. He probably cannot change the fact that he works all week, gotta make money to live in this world. However, if he really means anything to you, you could, pardon the blasphemy, not skydive -cringe- once in a while and spend some time with him. However, if it is because he is worried you will get hurt while skydiving and can't accept that you are being as safe as you can, dump his (explicit)! I haven't even started my jump training, I am saving up for it. This girl I am interested in says she doesn't think she could handle me jumping out of planes. I told her either get used to it, or we won't be able to move past friendship status. I can always find another girl, but there is only one sport where I get to fall at over 120mph that is named skydiving. Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.

That was sweet. It amazes me how you guys can jump outta planes but when there is large portions of flesh being cut off you get squeamish. Ok so there really isn't any relation. I wish they showed how it looked after it healed rather than ending where they did. I've thought about getting a chain branding on my arm. I didn't find that video gross, as a matter of fact I enjoyed my cherry yogurt while watching it. Of course I am one of those Emotionally & Mentally Traumatized people. Or EMT for short. 13. When I did my tandem earlier this month I had the exact same responses. From EVERYONE, except one person. My friend in Germany said, "Why would you want to jump out of a still functional airplane?" Guess in Germany they only have still functional instead of perfectly good. I dunno. Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  14. I live in Vancouver, Washington. Might as well call it Portland. I have done one tandem. That tandem was on 6-3-06 and it was a 'Lets go skydiving this weekend, that seems so cool' kind of deal. Basically the instructionless strap on, jump out, have a nice day thing. But it ended up being much more than that. I'm hooked and so is the friend I went with. My goals are to learn how to skydive safely, become knowledgable enough that I am comfortable with my gear and skills. I'm the kind of person that if an emergency happens, I do not panic. Unless I have no idea about the equipment I have. But I also work a 40-hour a week low-paying dead end job. So I need to also keep in mind the costs. In all reality, I would like to make a career out of jumping. Personally I am leaning towards videographer maybe even instructor down the line. The only real drawback I have is I will probably be that guy that 10 years down the line and X,000 jumps later, still has to be pushed out of the airplane. Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  15. Ok so I went on the carnival ride. The tandem jump. Now I am interested in really jumping. So, pardon me if I start some sort of war here, but what would you guys say is the best route to learning? AFF, Tandem or static line? Are there any other options out there? What are the pros and cons of these training types? What are your opinions on them? I want to learn what I need to know to have fun, be safe and live to jump again. Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  16. Well, I haven't found anything that outright kills a cold in 24 hours. But personally by taking plenty of Vitamin C crystals in orange juice I can usually limit it to about 72 hours. Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  17. Yeah, I understand it would most likely not be applied to tandems. However if they had beer rules at that particular drop zone, I would have expected to hear someone SOMEWHERE say beer. Or at least for the solo and relative work jumpers to stay longer than one jump and go home. Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  18. Ok, I did a search of the forum and found out that beer is basically owed for any first. However there are a couple things I do not understand. First off, who does the beer go to? Second, do any of the DZ's in or around Portland, Oregon have beer rules? The place I did my tandem at, nobody stuck around long enough to have a beer. They seemed to come, jump and leave. I heard no, "You owe me a beer." Hell, didn't even hear the word. If there is somewhere around here that has beer rules, thats where I wanna claim as my DZ. Once I get my license somewhere else where I don't have to buy so much beer. Muahahaha Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  19. Well, I'm not sure if I am going to use Skydive Oregon. They cost about $1400 to get off of student status (AFF or tandem slight variance for each) and THEN another $7-800 to take the skills jumps for 'a' license. They seem like a rather safe drop zone. Which is a plus. However I called another place titled "Beaver Oaks Airport" or something similar. He offers groundschool and first jump for $160 and then $60 per jump after that. Estimating more or less 20 jumps before he no longer considers you a student at his drop zone. But at the same time I believe he said he teaches you the skills you need WHILE doing those $60 jumps before he allows you to solo. But it seems like a mom and pop shop kind of deal and I am not sure how to check up on if they have had any injuries, reported gear malfunctions, reserve deployments or whatnot that would make me consider that place as good or bad. The price for that place really draws me, but scares me at the same time. As they say, "If it is too good to be true." But on the same note, it could just be a smaller dropzone trying to stay in the game. Also I am reconsidering my choice of AFF after talking to a dropzone manager in Eugene that said 40% of current skydivers took AFF. 95% of skydiving fatalities are of those that did AFF. I'm just a bit confused I guess. So many options, limited pocketbook. Basically I want to get into the sky as cheap as I can, as fast as I can and as safe as I can with the skills and training I need to live. Jodans I'm a nobody, nobody is perfect, therefore I'm perfect.
  20. Hi everyone, I did my first tandem on 6-3-06 at Skydive Oregon in Molalla. Unfortunately I had no idea what kind of double edged sword I was about to find. Loved the jump, can't wait to start jumping. But didn't realized I would get so hooked that every day between now and when I have finally saved up the money to get trained for solo (Over a year at current calculations), will be eternal hell as I look to the sky saying, "I wish I was there." The friend I went with that day is the same way. I look forward to jumping but figure I can at least learn while I wait. Maybe then I will be a safer jumper when I finally get there.
