    0:1:0 I think. ;)

I got one jump in for a six way speed star... then I was to lazy to pack for the sunset load so I went home. I am such a lazy bitch lol!!!

I just made myself a peanut butter, raspberry preserve, broccoli sprout wrap on a flour tortilla... It wasn't half bad..

What odd food combinations have you tried?

    Would you eat them again?

That combo just made me throw out in my mouth!!! :o:D

  3. With modern gear and an AAD I would expect to spend more in the range of 3000+. Of course you could get a killer deal, or find a rig with an AAD just about to go out of date in a year or two.

Last time heard the next morning from my boss:
"Hey Doug that was a funny phone call from you last night"

Me: :o:o What phone call!!! :o:o

CHEESY - RESEMBLING OR SUGGESTING CHEESE. DOES OUR 99 JUMP WEB SITE PROFESSOR ASSOCIATE CHEESE WITH CREDIBILITY AND A CONSCIENTIOUS EFFORT TO PROVIDE THE SKYDIVING COMMUNITY WITH GEAR. LETS STAY ON THE SUBJECT AND FOCUS ON CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS TO MAKE www.buildarig.com BETTER. AFTER ALL, THE PROFITS GO TO NO KILL ANIMAL SHELTERS . RICHARD

    :D:D

I happen to like the site. It reminds me of the websites I used to build on geocities, and the MIDI file Metalica songs drive my girlfriend nuts.

You wouldn't happen to have any PISA Hornets lying around the shop do you Richard?

Too bad they don't make the Hornet anymore, the fabric was way better than that new slick crap.

You're not the only one that feels that way!!! My first jumps were on a hornet, and I would buy one in a heart beat if some one had a new one in a back room somewhere. :D

  7. If you can get around the liability with the school lawyers there are lots of benefits of being associated with the school.

Most schools have funding boards and give money to recognized organizations. It is your money that comes out of your fee bill, and if the school is going give the roller hockey team 5k to rent a rink, you might as well get in on it too!!

Thanks for all your wisdon DougH, your knowledge should be an asset to this sport!

Even though I could construe that as a PA, I am going to take it as a complement coming from such a thrifty individual. ;)

Due to the way I was brought up my jump ticket would be the last thing on my mind if my drop zone faced a big hit like a down plane. I might have the right to ask for my money back, but I wouldn't consider it, and like I said I would refuse the money if it was offered back to me. The biggest thing on my mind would be in lending a hand in getting the plane back in the air.

In fact I really don't need the "right to decide if I get my money back or not"!!

I didn't think that was wisdon, infact I thought it was common sense for most people? [:/] I must be a real schmuck!!! :o

Lets just agree to disagree, and hope the jump planes we ride to altitude stay in one piece.

Exactly the point, I shouldnt be forced to pay the full jump ticket price, it should be up to the jumper to offer or not. Should not be expected.

No one is forcing you to do anything?

You can take actions, and those actions have consequences. One of those actions would be to have the integrity not to bitch about your 20 dollar lift ticket, while the DZO is busy trying to find a 50 thousand dollar engine for his broken down plane.

  11. I will be there, along with 9 fellow buddies from my university.

We are just hoping that there is going to be spots left for the RV we rented. When I talked to ZHills in November they told me the spots were first come first serve.

Brian Germain directly contradicts you in his book, and really emphasizes the necessity of keeping good line tension for safe canopy piloting.

So? Did he write that you have to fly all canopies exact same way? I have and read his great book anyway.

There are some things I did and I still would do on a big, 260+ sqft canopy with a spring loaded PC, but would not try with any of mine with kill-line collapsible PC.

While that is all well and good, you are making the statement that with a modern canopy you can't fall into it!!! I am not trying to give you a hard time, but I think it is dangerous to tell new jumpers, including myself that it isn't possible.

You can fall into your canopy, it is something that modern canopys are capable of, and it is a direct result of how you pilot them.

  13. Brian Germain directly contradicts you in his book, and really emphasizes the necessity of keeping good line tension for safe canopy piloting. If he thinks I can fall into my canopy and kill myself, I am going to take his word for it!!!

I have tons of fun with my canopy up high, but I don't go around yanking the toggles mindlessly.

Obviously, are you telling me you dont pay a bit extra when they give you more? If you dont throw in a few bucks for extra altitude you are screwing them out of their money for the fuel costs

It isn't all dollars and cents!!

If something goes wrong with the plane, I don't demand my money back. And if the pilot gives me an extra 500 feet, the DZO doesn't rush over to me and demand an extra 2 bucks after I land.

Instead I lend a hand around the place when I can help, and the DZO's have been extremely helpful to me in return. A place to crash, helping me pack to make a last minute load.

This isn't just any business, does Microsoft let you stop by their office and crash on the couch? :D

  15. To each there own, but it brings up a thought: "you can't put lipstick on a pig". Which is why I bought a skydiving helmet, instead of spending a whole days slathering epoxy and fiberglass cloth on my skiing helmet.

    Have fun with that. :P

  16. I thought students had to wear pink protec helmets until they got their A license? They are going too easy on you. :D

Can lines get between the part that covers your ears, and the upper part of the shell? Maybe it is just the picture, but that thing screams snag hazard to me. I know I would be running my lines all over it just to make sure!!!

Talk about making you feel like an old-timer...I like to sign logbooks with my A license number, just for fun; it makes people walk away looking at their logbook going "wow, he only has an A license?".
