  1. Those things are only evidence if you presume they can only exist due to God. Logically it is called begging the question. Here is your nutshell argument: 1. Matter, energy, information, conscience can only exist if there is a God. 2. These things exist. 3. Therefore there is a God. 1 is not evidence for 3. 1 presupposes 3. - Dan G
  2. Doesn't matter. All that matters is that "they" are doing something that "the other they" doesn't like. - Dan G
  3. Ah, so we finally get some movement on the lack of proof. If we can only get you to understand that the lack of proof comes from the complete lack of evidence, we might be able to have an honest discussion. - Dan G

Shut down trade with China? Completely unrealistic and would devestate the world economy (the US is part of the world, BTW). - Dan G

    The swamp

Good people? Excuse me, but they are the BEST people. - Dan G
  6. You really should be posting these in Bonfire. You'll probably get more responses there, too. - Dan G
  7. Your evidence is a guy born ~240 years after the events of interest quoting a guy born ~150 years after the events of interest. Rock solid, man. - Dan G
  8. Were these places elementary schools? - Dan G
  9. Ah, if only those eyewitnesses had written their testimony down and those records survived. Hearsay (especially from people who never met nor even lived at the same time as the original witness) is generally inadmissible. - Dan G
  10. I can buy that you feel the Holy Spirit in your being. What I don't get is how you can claim the preponderance of evidence supports your beliefs. There is absolutely zero evidence for your religion or any other religion. - Dan G
  11. It has always been a time of chaos. Everywhere. That is the human condition. Blaming my world outlook on when I was born doesn't make any sense. I am the same age (roughly) as Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. Why are their worldviews so different from mine? - Dan G
  12. I genuinely feel sorry for you. It's really not that bad out here in the real America. It's actually pretty darn good. Better than it ever has been, in fact. I'm sorry that you can't see that. - Dan G
  13. Gosh, when did your pro-gun rights stance do a 180? I must have missed it. - Dan G
  14. He also showed you a way to live life on Earth. It's that part of his teaching many seem to ignore. Cherry picking the parts you like and ignoring the parts you don't was not likely His intent. - Dan G
  15. Huh? What am I supposed to be pissed off about? - Dan G
  16. I'm against the death penalty, but that was weak. - Dan G
  17. And, while we are doing research, even the barest of research into the history of the AR-15 will show that it is, in fact, a military weapon. It was developed at the request of the US Army. Just because they decided they wanted a fully automatic version and renamed it the M-16 doesn't mean the AR-15 isn't the same weapon without the automatic capability (unless you add a bump stock). And I wish people would stop saying the 5.56 round is essentially a .22. This is extremely misleading. Sure, the diameter of the round is about the same, but the similarity ends there. People need to be honest on both sides of the debate. Needing to lie to make your point is a sure sign of a weak argument. - Dan G
  18. Huh, that's not what your hero, Donald Trump, said about Land. He, and the Republican Party, said Land was a Nancy Pelosi protege who would never give Trump a single vote. Could it be that Trump was lying? - Dan G
  19. You can't claim scientific objectivity if you refuse to consider that easy access to highly capable guns is part of the problem. And I love how you rant against those stupid emotional liberals in one of the most emotionally unbalanced posts in the thread. Anyway, sure, broken homes are a problem. How do you propose we fix that? - Dan G
  20. No, it was never discussed in town squares as commonplace, and it was certainly never discussed at work. That is, unless everyone was of the same religion and they were all agreeing that everyone else's religion sucked. I honestly don't know where you got the idea that America used to be the wonderful land of thoughtful religious tolerance and open discussion. I have never experienced that in my life. - Dan G
  21. Maybe it'll be easier for you to understand if instead of the bathroom comparison airdvr postulated, the attorney had been making love to her husband? Would you be uncomfortable if she threw that fact into the conversation about racoons? How about a Muslim who said he was praying to "Allah, the one true God" when he heard a racoon outside? Would that make you uncomfortable? - Dan G
  22. Is that why you react like you do when anyone brings up negative things about Trump? - Dan G
  23. The older generation has been complaining about the degradation of society since the Greeks. Do think the US is the only country with problems associated with divorce, bullying, "liberals", and loss of religion? Europe is just as bad or worse on all those metrics. The easy access to extremely effective weapons is the difference. - Dan G
