It's one great place to learn how to skydive and to have a good time. The staff puts safety before everything else, and the regulars make sure that you have a great time. For experienced jumpers driving through... just stop by and you can get on the next load.

I know the California gas stations are using Katrina as an excuse to raise prices. I don't even think Cal gets it's oil from the Gulf states, so where is the shortage that these gas station owners are talking about?

Messed around with a malfunction (spinning/line twists) too long, and in my opinion, chopped too low.

It's good to hear that I haven't been totally forgotten. If I'm not busy doing the military thing next year, I'll try my best to make it out there. Hey Kevin GN's? Been too busy lately (The Army has me traveling quite a bit). I'm going to try again next Sept ('06). Lodi: Yes, the rumors are true, that's where I'm jumping now. Living about 20min's from there has been convenient. Have fun this year (Boogie). If I'm not at Ft Bragg (GN Knights Tryouts) next year, or playing Army, I'll try my best to make it out next year.

Is it just me, or is the beer thing getting old?

My 2 cents: Land it 100 times, consecutively, on your feet (wind or no wind), without injury, and on target (within the main landing area). If you can at least accomplish that, then I would consider downsizing.

I can do mine in about 6-8 minutes. However, one time I did it in about about 5min and was BSing with someone; I ended up with a neck-braker.

I made the mistake of downsizing too early, even though I wasn't that good at landing. I finally learned how to land it after 2 months of demolition derby (bumps and bruises). Loosing weight (wingloading) helped as well. From here on out I will be using the Downsize Checklist (an article by Bill von Novak-Dec 13 2003) and some advise an AFF instructor gave me a while back: "If you can't land on your feet (under the same canopy) at least 100 times (consecutively) in a row, you have no buisness downsizing." There's my 2 cents.
