  1. I was referring to the POLL--not the poster. Oh well . . . “Keep your elbow up!"
  2. "Seeing as how they are our allies at the moment" Can't resist: so was Saddam not too long ago. Seems like, to those who study history, the status of "US ally" is subject to change--like the weather “Keep your elbow up!"
  3. History is history. Political correctness is neither. It stands . . . . “Keep your elbow up!"
  4. Can you say dumbass poll? Talk about rigged--not to mention showing your partisan colors. You must think like our little Caesar--in binary code only. Either you're for war, war, kill, kill, go USA, patriotic, "Shock and awe"--or you're a candyass appeaser, pro-Saddam, peacenik, traitor, anti-semitic, unAmerican, blah, blah, blah Man--what a waste of time................................. “Keep your elbow up!"
  5. "But hey the IRA have only murdered a few hundred innocent people." Poor blokes--just tryin' to keep with the Brits! “Keep your elbow up!"
  6. Just calling a spade--a spade. More like--observant “Keep your elbow up!"
  7. "Do you really think they said no because it was the US, or do you think that they were protecting their interests. That's what countries do. It's their job." Thinking like a "patriot": No, they hate us for our freedom. Shuhhhh . . . . “Keep your elbow up!"
  8. "The folks that blasted you represent only 30% of the American population according to the latest polls. You shouldn't let it bother you as it seems you are the one that is more in touch with mainstream America." Hmmm . . .just read something today that puts a wobble on your "spin". "NEW YORK--Now it's official: most Americans are idiots. Decades of budget cuts in education are finally yielding results, a fact confirmed by CNN's poll of March 16, which shows that an astonishing 51 percent of the public believe that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) was responsible for the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. There is no reason to think that. None. True, George W. Bush has asserted the existence of indirect links between low-level Al Qaeda operatives and Iraqi intelligence officials--a lame lie repeatedly denied by the CIA (news - web sites )--but even our professional prevaricator has never gone so far as to accuse Saddam of direct involvement in 9-11. Despite their increasingly tenuous grasp on reality, not even the Bush Administration's most fervent hawks deny that the secular dictator of Iraq (news - web sites) is a mortal enemy of the Islamist extremists of Al Qaeda. No mainstream media outlet has ever reported otherwise. So why do these pinheads think such a thing? Simple: the official Bushie pretexts given for launching a unilateral invasion of Iraq don't stick. If Saddam was going to launch nukes or anthrax missiles in our direction, he would have done so during the last dozen years, while American warplanes were pulverizing his military installations with weekly bombing raids. He'd certainly let us have it this week, now that Bush is revving up the war he wanted all along--but he won't, because he can't." http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid=127&e=13&u=/ucru/the_moron_majority “Keep your elbow up!"
  9. "The Hollywood crowd gives credence to the growing sentiment that the democratic party = the party of hate and intolerance." Oh, puleeese. Give me a huge break! "We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war." -- Ann Coulter, former National Review Online columnist, September 14, 2001 Anyone listen to Bill O'Reilly (all shouting--all the time) or Lush Rimjob (all hate--all the time) or Michael Savage? You can't be serious! We have talking heads calling war protesters traitors and even suggesting the same of Tom Daschle. I thought the whole point of this asinine war was to "preserve our freedom". So tell me, oh great "patriots" out there, why the terrorists haven't already won, since we've sunk to the new low of calling 1st Amendment protesters "traitors" for daring to question this illegal war, as well as creating the rather Orwellian "Patriot Act" and "Homeland Security Agency"? "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." -- Samuel Adams, speech at the Philadelphia State House, August 1, 1776. “Keep your elbow up!"
  10. "Since you've served in the military on foriegn soil, you can judge him, right?" I'm not sure there's a point here. If I get your logic, then, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perle, Cheney, Limbaugh et al have no right to say anything either. But, to pick up on part of your "thought process" here: I would vehemently assert that, as a US citizen, I have the right to question the actions of my employee/hireling/servant (GW Bush). He is a piss-poor standard as far as CICs go. I gather you don't dispute my "research"? Weren't quite ready for THAT, eh? “Keep your elbow up!"
  11. Want anymore "research'? “Keep your elbow up!"
  12. "President George W. Bush: Received a Bachelors Degree from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He served as an F-102 pilot for the Texas Air National Guard." This sorry SOB wouldn't qualify for a bagboy at Safeway if it weren't for his "Bush" name and family connections. His daddy kept his bacon out of the fire for his AWOL act in the National Guard and his coke arrest in `72 (doing comm service--while others picked cotton--then got it expunged from his record--along with a "fresh" driver's license--thanks to a chummy judge/Papa Bush relationship) Most people don't know that GW got to the "head of the line" for the National Guard post. Retired Major General Thomas Bishop said there were "lengthy waiting lists in Texas" and that "we were full." On his National Guard application asking whether he was interested in an overseas assignment, GW checked the "do not volunteer" box. What a hero! Bush, although he enlisted as an airman basic in 5/68, got his 2nd Lt. commission a few months later--almost unheard of in military history! Bush got assigned to the F-102, an obsolete fighter aircraft, made in 1953, that was phased out for Vietnam service--guaranteeing GW would avoid Vietnam duty. GW claims that he got into Yale and Harvard on his own merits, but there is plenty of evidence that his grandpa, Prescott Bush, the US Senator from Connecticut, got GW into Yale. Despite being rejected form the U of Texas' law school, GW was miraculously accepted into the Harvard Business School. Former Harvard classmates remember GW has a "hard partier" who would sit in the back of class with his bomber jacket on and his tobacco juice spit cup beside him. Yeah--a real scholar there! "Born on third base--thought he hit a triple." --former presidential advisor, Paul Begala “Keep your elbow up!"
  13. "President George W. Bush: Received a Bachelors Degree from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He served as an F-102 pilot for the Texas Air National Guard." “Keep your elbow up!"
  14. He's baaaack . . . . "All the discussion is moot now - we're going to war." So who appointed you King? Isn't that Gee Dubbya's job? As long as we still have a Constitution, we have the right--and duty--to question our "public servants." Just because bullets are flying doesn't mean we have to put our brains and/or consciences on a shelf. I will always question the specious rationales for this insane rush to war: the idiotic 9/11 tie-in, the bogus bin Laden--Saddam links, the over-hyped "threat" to our freedom Saddam represents, the somewhere-out-there WMDs, the doctored documents and outright fabrications the US/British war-hawks have offered as "evidence." So--while you're all high-fiving your buddies in the local gin mills while CNN covers the slaughter, remember that there will be a bunch of us out there who will keep asking the embarassing questions and, as my favorite beer maker once said, "setting brushfires in people's minds." Oh yeah--I Support Our Troops! Now Bring Them Home! “Keep your elbow up!"

    Iraq? Turkey?

"Ignoring the Cyprus issue of course.... " Details, details . . . . “Keep your elbow up!"

    Iraq? Turkey?

Or . . . was it that Greek men hate to travel because they'd have to leave their brothers behind?? Stop me--please!! “Keep your elbow up!"
  17. algboy

    Iraq? Turkey?

Well I heard from someone recently that the only way to separate the men from the boys in Greece was with a CROWBAR! I think I've just signed my death warrant. Oh well . . . . “Keep your elbow up!"
  18. "Rules say "No Personal Attacks", But I guarantee you group attacks won't be allowed either, You insulted about 30 skydivers that I know in one post. I believe you need to grow up and realize that all the people you mentioned make your life as you know it possible." I'm not sure who I could have "personally attacked" in either of my posts. In fact I was obliquely threatened for daring to suggest that truck drivers might not be the best source for geo-political commentary. And, believe me, I'm all growed up. If you are referring to the "good people" who harassed, screamed at and ganged up on the war protesters--I stand by my post. To paraphrase our pResident: either you're for the Constitution--or you're against it. I'm an American--and I'm FOR the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I am AGAINST anyone who represents the bottom-feeder mentality of McCarthyism and fascism. That's no American I respect. My wife is from Alabama and I love her and her family dearly. I love the "southern way" (most of the time). The rednecks of Chicago gave Martin Luther King some of his worst times during the civil rights struggle. No--this is not about bashing southerners. This about bashing a mentality that sees everything in a simplistic black-white way. If you oppose pre-emptive war against Iraq, you are a traitor and are unAmerican?? Gimme a huge BREAK!!. How DARE Chuck Daniels--or anyone (including the President) call me, a Hollywood celebrity--or anyone --unAmerican for daring to question this insane rush to kill! I have done my homework. Have you studied the results of US foreign policy over the last 50+ years? Do you have an open mind--or are you paralyzed by the same jingoistic blindness that has overtaken too many, otherwise decent, people in this country? Does the phrase "9/11" make your knee jerk?? “Keep your elbow up!"
  19. "Hell, I know one PhD in particular that drives for Fed Ex now. Why? Good money and every weekend off. This is a guy that could out speak BillVon." OK--you win. Your anecdotal evidence outplayed MY anecdotal evidence. "You are so far off base with that comment you might as well be standing on the moon, and if any of the drivers I know heard it, that's where you would want to be standing." LMAO. Wiping a tear. Catching my breath. OK. OK--let's just say--I'm quivering with anticipation. I stand by my assertion. I actually like about 95% of these overworked SOB's. I just wouldn't use them--or Charlie McDaniels for any political insight (your ONE PhD notwithstanding). I guess MY opinion is just as worthless as Chuck's. Et toi!! C'est la vie . . . . “Keep your elbow up!"
  20. Sorry, man, but this poll BLOWS!! It's worded something like: 1. It's OK to beat your wife 2. It's OK to beat your wife--but only if she really, really, REALLY pisses you off. Next . . . . . . . . “Keep your elbow up!"
  21. "Stop in at a truck stop and tell an overworked, long distance truck driver that you don't think Saddam Hussein is doing anything wrong." I deal with these guys every week, Chuck. Do you? Most are so zonked out from lack of sleep--hell--most can't even pay attention, let alone make an intelligent comment about geo-political events. Try another source, Chuck. This letter is so much redneck pablum--it's scarcely worthy of serious consideration. Chuck made his money by pandering to the Redman chewing, bassboat buying, trailer park rabble. Chuck buys into Bush's single-cell mentality of "with us or against us." We don't live in a binary, black or white world, Chuck. Your brown shirt is in the mail, though. "Go down to Baxley, Georgia and hold an anti-war rally and see what the folks down there think about you." I read about what this bunch of "good American" white trash did to those who chose to express their First Amendment rights. And these are the same bozos who cried because a few Vietnam vets got spat on? And so it goes . . . . “Keep your elbow up!"
  22. "My dear Colette, don't worry," Lantos reportedly told Colette Avital, a member of Israeli Knesset who was visiting Washington with a delegation of the Peace Coalition. "You won't have any problem with Saddam. "We'll be rid of the bastard soon enough. And in his place we'll install a pro-Western dictator, who will be good for us and good for you." -- U.S. Rep. Tom Lantos, D-California as reported in the Israeli newspaper, Ha'aretz
  23. "If this proves true what will you say to going in tonight for the safety of the USA?" The word 'hyperbole' comes to mind. How `bout we just withdraw our troops from 144 countries? I'd say consider the source: we're still waiting after nearly a year and a half for a 'legit' investigation of 9/11. (Sorry, the secret congressional thing doesn't count). We were so darn 'inept' at foreseeing the attacks--despite warnings from several countries and our own intelligence services--yet we miraculously produce 'bad guys' and passenger lists within hours of the attacks?? We had a massive STAND DOWN on 9/11 from our hardwired system (no Presidential order needed--remember Payne Stewart?) to intercept wayward/hijacked aircraft. I mean, Andrews is only spitting distance from Washington! What was up with that?? There was massive 'short selling' of UAL, American and Morgan Stanley stock just days before the attacks. We have Echelon software to track unusual trades. Where's THAT story? I repeat--STAND DOWN. Tony Blair uses a plaigarized 'intelligence study' on Iraq that Powell referred to in glowing terms just a few weeks ago. Missed that on the US news didn't you? The US has been busted for spying on the UN. Did you catch THAT story just a week or so ago? OK--now that I've got that off my chest, please tell me more about this compelling evidence for war . . . . . . “Keep your elbow up!"
  24. "Damn right! They're standing in the way of the US empire. The emperor will _not_ be pleased." Hope I get to jump with you someday. If you jump as good as you think, that is! (Don't think I've disagreed with a single one of your previous posts) Anyway . . . this is a sad time for Americans. We have a petulant, war-mongering, chicken-hawk pResident who has alienated the world against us. This is not like WWII. We have NO business getting ticked off at the French, British, Chinese and Russians for playing the "turd in the punch bowl" role. This is about wanting to have a war over *alleged* weapons of mass destruction, which *might*--just might--be used against us. Pretty terrifying, eh? Any skydivers actually buy this crapatolla? Oh--and please don't tell me to "love it or leave it," Mr. All-American Redneck! That's what I'm here for: to make your provincial, pork-rind eating, ethnocentric, jingoistic life a teeth-gnashing hell. Deal! I invite you to read the Constitution, grab a decent history book or three and read a few international papers/magazines. Gee--kinda rocks your world, doesn't it? Why do we have 200K troops in 144 countries? We ARE the New Centurions. Pax Americana. Deal! Do they hate us because we're rich and beautiful?? Hardly--if they did, they would have bombed Rodeo Drive years ago. Sure, they love our movies, music and Coca-Cola. But, they hate us for our foreign policy--our meddling, bombs, CIA and financial blackmail. “Keep your elbow up!"
  25. "What we're hearing is that some of the educators are talking about the possible war in Iraq being unethical and that those who would fight it are unethical," Maj. Rogers said." "...the taunting the children of military personnel that were called to duty, by their teachers?" Hey, Sport--you might wanna RE-READ the actual article. The only "taunting" mentioned was on the school bus--by other school kids. I suspect that what really happened is that a teacher or teachers aide (damn traitorous lefties) tried to introduce an opposing idea that rocked these little kids' worlds. Mr. and Mrs. Military bitched about their darlings boo-hooing all the way home. These kids NEED to hear both sides--not just the "America United", "Target Iraq" and "Countdown to War" crap heard on all the major media outlets. This story is a tempest in a teapot and another attempt to crush anyone who dares to question the chickenhawks' rush to war. I suspect it's all a bunch of trumped up BS. Trying to villainize those who question the war by playing the "poor children" card? They have no shame. “Keep your elbow up!"
