  1. I might be ignorant, but at least I know the proper use of the word.
  2. Say what you want re: George W, at least he's killing Arabs.
  3. I went to that site....made my eyes bleed
  4. Call it the rigger rock, and use it to "correct" riggers that practice bad rigging techniques? jk :)
  5. Yeah that's it, hit it with a rock! Good lord man.... Remove the grommet, Patch the hole with like material, replace grommet. Rigger Shouldn't charge more than $20.00 Sheeeese!
  6. That's strange because I've been doing business with Para-Gear for more years than I'd like to admit, and I can't remember anything other than a good experience. Perhaps the time difference is making communication difficult. Whatever it is I'm sure they will make it right no matter the problem.
  7. The saying is "For Christ's sake". You should kn....nm
  8. Looking at this packing eror further... If the cypres were to fire would the top flap being inside the pocket on the bottom flap cause a total of your reserve?
  9. Wow, that's bright! Go rub it on the outside of the jump plane, get that shine off it, then I'll like it more Just kidding, looks great, and don't listen to all those jealous nübz.
  10. Wanna give me the difference in price between a new D-Bag and a malfunction caused by line dump?
  11. How much of it can you see? Is it really a potential snag hazzard? If you are even a little nervous about it, walk it back to the rigger and gently ask him if he could have perhaps dressed the container a bit better. You're the customer, don't be intimidated, ask questions on the DZ, and don't let it go until you are satisfied.
  12. Don't you dare start trying to get everyone to call it Exacta-Chute® . Heh, I agree that's a mouthful. We call it zerotahthree (0-3 cfm) but that doesn't exactly roll off the tongue either, but it's better than "that non-slippery stuff"
  13. No canopies are being produced anywhere by anybody with F-111 fabric anymore. George Harris went out of business long ago :)
  14. Knead risers? Of course you knead risers! How else would you hook up your main?......sry I wonder if you need to take into account your specific riser's webbing properties? Here's my two cents.... Up until a few years ago webbing purchased from either Bally or Narricot (or Elizabeth for that matter) was very consistent. Mil-Spec webbing gave assurances that the webbing was built to a specific standard. This is not the case today. It is common now to see big differences in webbing from one manufacturer to the other, and even inconsistencies in webbing from one lot to another from the same manufacturer. Some webbing is so stiff that an 8" piece when held at the end horizontally will not flex down hardly at all. Other webbing ordered under the same spec will be very soft and hang down at a sharp angle. All that to say this.... I could see a very stiff webbing take a set far more easily than the softer stuff. Will it take a set? I don’t know, never seen it happen but I’m still a noob.
  15. The Strong Enterprises Para-Cushion is good also. They offer many different systems that are designed for specific airplanes. What kind of plane are using it in?
  16. It depends on the quality of the Cordura. Mil-Spec 1000 Denier Cordura made with Dupont yarn and coated with 1.5 oz of urethane is by far the most durable product out there and imo looks the best also. Cordura has sort of become a generic term for the canvas type stuff used in everything from backpacks to sport rigs. I’ve seen 500 denier cordura coated with 1 oz or less of a urethane blend on some rigs. When this is the case a good quality, well coated commercial spec parapak tests better, especially in ravel tests. Perhaps you could ask for a swatch of each type of cloth be sent to you, and you can do your own tests on it. Pull, ravel, tear, bite, stomp, whatever. If you do this, make sure you get the colors sent to you that you plan on using in your rig. I’ve seen some really nice cloth in the common colors, and then not so good quality in the neon fuscia type stuff.
