  1. Skydive Empuriabrava is a great DZ to consider, i believe it's the biggest DZ in Europe. Open 24/7, from the site: 1 Super Otter and 2 super pilatus with lift capacity of 140 people/hour permanently based at the centre)
  2. NickDG: sounds like a very interesting guy with lots of knowledge and cool stories, i think theres much to be learned from him "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"

  5. These 3 DZ's are from Skydive Flanders. I mainly jump at Moorsele and Schaffen, never been to Zwartberg before. "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  6. Hey, You can buy Good Stuff here http://www.joejennings.com/GS.htm or here http://www.skydive.tv/skydivingvideo01.htm Just bought it a week ago, should be arriving soon
  7. Hi bazelos, At 00.35 seconds, there appears to be a yellow thingy flying in front of the canopy at very high speeds. It's definaltely to fast to be another canopy (I think) wich should be elliptical or very small to attain high speeds like that. Do you maby know what is? Someone's shoe maby? :) Something from the plane, something that came loose during the jump, a piece/part of the canopy? You have to watch really close and maby even pauze the screen to see it. I'm just curious. the blues eli "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  8. For me, the scariest part of the skydive is from the moment that the door opens, to the moment that the group or person jumping before me has just exitted the plane. From then on I just count to 5 or 7 or 10 and jump. During those seconds i dont really feel 'scared' anymore, i just focus on the exit and that's it. My stresslevel seems to rise the higher I get, although I can feel really 'at ease' sometimes when I'm sitting in the seat next to the pilot looking at the beautiful clouds
  9. Geldt hetgeen dat in die bestanden staat enkel voor Nederland of ook voor Belgie? "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"

  11. really? i know someone over here who started jumping a 135 at +/-50 jumps, and another one who jumps a 120 at +/- 150 jumps "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  12. depends on where you live i guess, if in america, go chicago, deland, eloy, arizona, elsinore, ... if europe, definately empuriabrava and do what thijs says, have 2 rigs and have your canopy packed by the time you're back on the ground by a good packer, you'll be spending a lot of money though "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"

  14. how 'bout japanese hornets, those things are crazy !!! "Bees, other hornet species, and larger insects such as praying mantises are no match for the giant hornets, which often stalk their prey in relentless armies. Just one of these hornets can kill 40 European honeybees a minute; a handful of the creatures can slaughter 30,000 European honeybees within hours, leaving a trail of severed insect heads and limbs." 16. 1/ i said something in class (dont quite remember what it was) so i got sent to the principals office. i was furious and slammed the classroomdoor so hard that a window next to it broke, got 1 week off for that one, look on teachers face was priceless 2/ throwing chalk to a teacher (this was actually the drop in the bucket, i got kicked off of school forever after that altough i was allowed to finish that semester) 3/ laughing my ass off because one of my teachers had painted her hair purple, eventually the whole class started laughing and she (the teacher) started to cry :s (i dont have anything against people with purple hair, but it was just so funny) 4/ being a dick against teachers on multiple occasions 5/ smoking thai stick (this was actually at boardingschool) and having it on me 6/ poling a guy (talking his legs, putting them between a pole and well ... just start pulling, this was with multiple peolpe who also got suspended) 7/ skipping classes alot 8/ smoking cigarettes on multiple occasions 9/ at my second boarding school we used to "baptise" newcomers at night, this was basicly just sneaking to the newcomer's room in the middle of the night with maby 5 or 6 people, we'd be very quiet and then enter the room as fast as possible, we would trash the room witch shavinggel(and cream), shampoo, conditioner, drinks (all the kinds of liquid you could think of), we'd also turn over the matrass so that it was laying on top of the newcomer wich made him helpless, anyway, afters this we'd run back to our individual rooms and when everybody was inside, the lights in the hallway klicked on, and of course i was the only one that was left standing in the hallway, i got suspended for that for 3 days, together with another very good friend who came out of his room (out of solidarity i guess, i really appreciated that :) i still know him today and i convinced him to do AFF, he now has 8 jumps :)) boy those were great times
  17. very nice job jimmy VERY nice !! "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  18. i see now, i had a totally different impression i see a skygod as an old time jumper who's been jumping for decades at the same dropzone, knows everybody around and everybody around knows him, is always friendly to people, introduces new jumpers to other jumpers, the one who always spots and is JM on the plane, stuff like that when i first came to the dropzone i jump at the most now, i knew nobody, and on top of that i'm very introverted around new people, but then all of the sudden a cameraman with something of like 1000-1100 jumps came to me and we started talking, he's introduced me to some people, we've partied together the same night and other weekends after that, he is always really friendly to me, he's offered a few times to ride me to the trainstation, when he goes on a 4way or 5way or X-way he'll ask me if i want to lurk around at a safe distance etc. i see people like that/him as skygods, for me it's not a belitteling (?is that actually a word?) word to me. in my book a skygod is definately not as how you describe it. blues "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  19. definately not i'm a real dumbass !! "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  20. ?hunh? "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  21. ok, i clearly had a wrong idea of the meaning of the word "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  22. "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  23. i didn't knew that, i thought it was someone who jumps at a certain dropzone, who everybody knows, has all the ratings, thousands of jumps, doesn't act like a skygod, etc.. but i never mean skygod in like a egocentrical way, i would like to see him as somebody you describe as a person who doesnt act like it, i definately agree with you "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  24. ok so if you are a natural and you have "attitudes as opposed to earned respect and skillz" and you have 500 jumps you can be called a skygod? "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
