If Jo had solved the case we would be getting proof, not yet another "we are almost there and stand by for revelation" post. Fwiw I agree with smokin on the suspects....Gossett is as good as Christiansen. I think both of them are a leap ahead of Weber (that's not saying much). Jo's latest post receives nothing but another roll of the eyes, being in the same vein as all the imminent revelations we have been promised/warned about for the past five years. Jo has a lot of wild conjectures and conveniently misplaced information when it suits her. Gossett and Christiansen have tangential circumstantial evidence. Of the 3, Gossett is mostl likely to have been able to survive the jump, but there are thousands of other people out there who could have survived the jump too. Like Mayfield and Peterson. Cooper didn't die because he wasn't missed? Really? Mel Ward disappeared. ALL of the above suspects have been dismissed by the FBI. So no, one of you is not allowed to use that excuse for another suspect when it suits you. 377 ... I've forgotten too much maths. But one thing economics teaches you is that just about anything can be represented with an equation and a graph ...maybe I'll have a go at modeling the forum one day. Re the above: 1. Hm. I thought I had read a denial by Peterson but would be hard put to go and find the source 2. I agree with 377 that Peterson makes a brilliant suspect, and admit this is partly because he fits with our a priori expectations He says he isn't and the FBI says he isn't and I tend to think well...maybe he isn't. Of course his denial doesn't necessarily mean anything given the case is still open. 377, I did want to point out though that I think one of your arguments against him being DBC is flawed... your observation that he abhors violence. If the bomb was fake, then it was only a threat with no intent of violence and certainly nothing else we know about Cooper's behavior points to a violent personality. A couple of empty threats maybe. Again, this doesn't mean I think he's the guy. But I do think he is a much better suspect than anyone else who has been talked about in these threads, with the possible exception of Mayfield, who may or may not have been excluded by the group as a suspect; it was basically Jo's noise that shut out the Mayfield proponents years ago. Again not something I would argue strongly, but another example of how more credible suspects somehow fall by the wayside in all the vested interests here. My own most likely probability, I think, is that at the bottom of a river or deep in the woods there is a skeleton with a rig (maybe open, maybe not) and bundles of 20s. funny I thought about you this summer when I was in MA. A friend and I were going to try a skydive. Got about halfway there and we chickened out. Something about needing to go buy shoes instead. Remember your comment about how nice it was that the discussion was getting Cooper-centered again... This is exactly why we go off-track. Because all that Jo cares about is her idea that weber was Cooper (funny how she accuses others of propagating myths) and as georger has pointed out before she has an uncanny knack of being able to shut down intelligent conversation here. Georger - I don't have the transcripts anymore but I clearly remember a lot of to-ing and fro-ing between the cockpit and NWA because not only did they not know the stairs could be lowered in flight, they believed it might be dangerous. Maybe someone who still has the transcripts (and the time, which right now is rather a scarce commodity on my part) would like to go through them to find the exact conversations. This might be a dumb observation ...but 377's posting of the analysis just seems...well, too analytical for the circumstances. Remember we are talking a bunch of people who - Cooper aside - didn't even know you could lower the stairs in flight. I'm not convinced at all they would have gone through the thought processes outlined? Occam would say that however the stairs were lowered, it wasn't done as a result of thinking through it all like that, surely? Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
