  1. Jesse and all the KSUPC you are the best!!!!!! that was the best weekend ever!!, being an "old timer" and seeing the purity of skydiving so alive and strong at Wamego after all these years was priceless. You guys should be really proud. I know the alumni that was there this year will be back for next year.
  2. No, I think you are thinking of Jerry Mahoney. Dave's illegitimate brother. Hi Zing!!! Life's good, back jumping at Eloy, hope I'll see ya there. Karin
  3. Mahoney was never at Casa Grande...a little before his time....
  4. Sounds like a great time Jesse, I'm looking forward to it. cya there!
  5. Volunteering was not really an option back in those days!!
  6. LP 1987......Pete Hill gives good Toe!!!!! Long story to this, but I don't have the time right now. I hope they're still Toe Sucking at LP! That bar was definantly the "Wild West"....good times. Warning on the Mahoney pic...not for the weak of heart!!
  7. is this Fred that lives in Prescott that got hurt?
  8. I'm hurt.......I thought for sure Sammy would reply.....hmmmph.....I remember Sammy landing out at Coolidge once and when we went to pick him up he had to cross an arroyo rushing with rain water, he had to carry his gear over his head, we really teased him about the fact he should be used to that. He was a great sport. Swoopin, my first jump was in Hutch back in 82. Did you know the Hrdlicka bros?
  9. I called the # in Guthrie and I just got a message but it was definantly Sammys' voice. I left a message about this thread, so hopefully he will pop in and say Hi..........
  10. Sammy was picked up by the INS during the recent marches and taken back to Mexico....just kidding...I would love to hear how he is doing or get in contact with him. I would also love to get in touch with Bob Taylor (B.T.)if anyone knows his whereabouts. last I knew he was in Boise.
  11. dgskydive speaks wise words. This is a high risk sport. You can lower your odds by being smart and conservative, but it in no way prevents the other end of the odds getting you or your friends. The best you can do is use good judgement, be current, don't let peer pressure influence you. Be honest with yourself and your capabilities. Most of all don't let complacency set in, an old flying saying is "flying is thousands of hours of boredom interrupted by moments of shear terror" always be ready to react to an emergency from the minute you get on the plane until you are on the ground. This can be done while also enjoying the Glory of what skydiving is all about. I have always loved the saying BLUE SKIES/ BLACK DEATH on takeoff....translation...HAVE FUN /BE SAFE!!!! The reaper lurks...
