  1. From where do you get those numbers? PD seems to be very secret about pack volumes. My understanding is that an Optimum packs about one and a half size smaller than the same sized conventional reserves from PD. Thanks for the reply , but what I would want is the opinion of someone that has actually tried. Nothing beats empirical data you know. /Martin
  2. Has anyone tried to put an optimum 126 into a micron v304. If so, how did it fit? /Martin
  3. You can't raise your maximum heart rate by training. It depends on genetics and age. You can affect the rate at which it decreases over time by training. An average man has a max. heart rate of 220-age, but this can vary a lot. I would say that 230 is false data. /Martin
  4. Diesel and kerosene (Jet fuel) are actually not that different, depending on which standard is followed. Usually even a standard dieselengine will run on kerosene. If you want to do use it often, just ad a some lubrication. Both have about the same energy value (ca 40 MJ/Kg) but diesel have a fraction more of longer carbon chains.
  5. How do you come to this conclusion? Seems overly simplistic to me. For example, company A might buy company B in another country because of the cheap labor in that country. That doesn't mean that the company A is expecting a rise in the cost for labor in company B... Then again, I wouldn't see foreign investments as something bad either, as it means that capital is pouring into said Country.
  6. I know I'm repeating myself, but... Has anyone had any problem with fluttering while using their Sony cx6 or cx7 in freefall?
  7. Did you have any problems with the optical steady shot? Seems that the cx7 should have the same problems as the hc7... Hope I'm wrong cause it sure seems like a very good camera. /Martin
  8. I was thinking of the billions and billions of euros and dollars that criminal organizations, dictators and rich people who don't want to pay their tax, still keeps in swiss bank accounts. /Martin
  9. But then again, Switzerland has an unfair advantage when it comes to stabilizing it's currency, don't you think? /Martin
  10. Another interesting thing with the video is that the instructor never checks his handles. Maybe this shows that the TI has a lack of respect towards his gear. /Martin
  11. More than 100 million of them (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-47) . Thats a lot of killing before they run out. /Martin
  12. At least Amnesty international claims that less than half of the worlds nations still uses the death penalty. Non of the countries in the European Union has capital punishment. I think that even Russia has abandoned the death penalty. The only European country to still convict and execute people is Belarus. /Martin
  13. At first it will look as if NC and Rush will win because they bring more guns... but after years of cheap shoots from billvon and Kallend, NC and Rush will finaly realize that they can't win. But they won't admit it even though they know it. edited for language /Martin
  14. 22 for 13500 from a PAC if you don't have any discounts. I pay 11 but then I have to do some work for the club. /Martin
  15. Here in Gothenburg you can take the AFF course (10 jumps) for 480 pounds. And Ryan Air will fly you here from London almost for free :) /Martin
  16. It's a very interesting question indeed. What strikes me is the difference of where the "center" is in different parts of the world. I have a feeling that that "center" is the most right in America with a few exceptions. An even more interesting question is why some values that are liberal and leftist in one region of the world could be hardcore right wing in another. Often it seems as if these issues are more about tradition than ideology. /Martin
  17. Sometimes the cameraman does more for the picture than the subject (thanks to Niklas Berg), though I'm pretty satisfied with my swoop anyway :). The photo was taken at midnight during the midsummer boogie in Orsa/Sweden. /Martin
  18. This is how we plan our LZ at FKCG, Sweden. /Martin
  19. Is it possible to add other canopies? And would it be possible to make importable groundimage (so you could import a shot of your home dropzone)? Great program. With some tweaking I would make my home dz pay for this to use as a training aid for my students. /Martin
  20. Instead of being best at paying the least, wouldn’t making a better product be a possible way forward? The Japanese didn’t lower their wages a couple of decades ago, they started making better cars. I don’t believe that building a Mercedes, BMW or Volvo is paid very badly either… and still these companies seem to be doing pretty ok. More than anything else I believe that an inventive stagnation in the American automotive industry and an overvalued dollar is at fault.
  21. Of course they don't, but you will have a hard time finding one that believes that a big trade deficit is a good thing. I’m not arguing that it’s quite complex. I’m saying that in total it’s not a good thing.
  22. A trade deficit means that you are unable to compete with foreign companies. People choose products from abroad. It's not a god sign! /Martin
  23. You don't see a difference in the average size of a vehicle in Europe and North America??? Are there a lot of Escalades driving around on the autobahn? The average European car is already a lot more efficient than it's American counterpart. This has a lot to do with the fact that free gasoline isn't seen as a human right. /Martin
  24. You could call it colloidal chemistry. The possibilities are endless
