  1. I'm game. Do we have to be in "uniform"? HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  2. Here's the correct way to handle them. http://howtoprankatelemarketer.ytmnd.com/ HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  3. Personally, I like minimalistic websites when it comes to design. However, you need to put some real contents in there.
  4. He... I walked into a tattoo palor to talk to them about a skydiving tattoo. I was pretty nervous about the tattoo concept. They were freaked out, that I jump out of airplanes. 5. A Falcon 300 main is approved for 110 kg students here in Denmark. I'm just not sure what kind of reserve we have in that rig back at the DZ... HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  6. From a statistics point of view that is a meaningless statement. Large? wrt. what? As long as their boundaries are well away from zero they have no formal problems. They might underestimate systematic effects and they might have underlying assumptions on the gaussianity of the errors that may or may not be true, but this is where the medical profession differs from my own field sufficiently in its methods that I cannot give a qualified evaluation. 7. Hence the quoted errors. It seems to me that the grain of salt you mention is already incorporated in the result. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  8. OK, as for that comparison I think it is done in a much more elegant fashion by Kevin Barrett Now, turning back to the topic at hand, it seems to me that they have actually gone to great lengths to give statistically sound estimates in this work. Agreed, there may be systematic errors biasing the result but I have yet to see someone arguing what these errors might be and in what direction they might pull the estimate. This all reminds me of the Florida recounts where every democrat thought that all recounts would automatically be in Gore's favour. You may not like to hear it, but this is the way to estimate the death toll as a result of the conflict given that all other parameters had remained approximately at status quo in the event that the invasion had not taken place. Going through the numbers I would say that I was mostly surprised over the number of violent deaths. I had expected an excess mortality to arise primarily from a lowered standard of living: Less food, less medical care. The number of violent deaths is a very tangible thing. One might view this number as a "prediction" of what would be found should a larger study be conducted. Indeed from a scientific point of view this is how I would see it, had it merely been an academic point of contention. Sadly, it is not which is probably the reason that it has not just been presented a "quadrupling of the baseline mortality rate since whatever date". 9. How about the original Lancet study? The pdf is too large for me to upload due to the 100k limit. The Lancet is considered a high-impact journal (think World Series) within clinical medicine and even though the researchers probably have a political standpoint of some sort you probably will not be able to pinpoint major errors in their methodology. In other words: If anyone wants to shout "political bias", they'd better be prepared to back it up. 10. OK, so how's your own project coming along? Edit: Damn, that line sounds a lot like "How're you doin'?" HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  11. I see that Nicole Sheridan is in the movie. Might it be this one? HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  12. Ehm... I've been training martial arts for 17 years, and I can promise you that I don't teach people to stick out their hands. Quite to the contrary my experience came in quite handy one day as a student, where my legstraps apparently weren't tightened the same. I decided at some point to stop figting to get the parachute into the wind and just take the cross wind. 14 years of breakfalls made damn sure that I just took the fall all along the side of my body. Although my instructor wasn't too impressed with my canopy handling skills the PLF was picture perfect.
  13. Been reading too many of Foley's emails, I see. You're just jealous that he's on the mailing list and you're not. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  14. Depends... I have a degree in mathematics which means that I can no longer actually calculate anything much less do so in my head, but should you want to discuss functionals on Banach spaces I sure do have a book to throw at you. 15. That is really wrong. We should just shoot them and get it over with. Maybe a big gas chamber disguised as a shower. How many Muslims can you fit in an oven? Hmmmm............There's some good concepts here. I just need to think them out better. No matter how many smilies you put in there that is still not funny. 16. Dunno. When it looks like I need to. I have a finger-trap needle and some appropriate line in my gear bag for those eventualities, and I try to remember to always have a ready-made loop there too. 18. Implying that something was too cold for Chuck Norris? Oh... boy, are you going to get in trouble. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

  21. Ahh... that explains a lot. It actually might explain why we had so much difficulty keeping level. Thanks.
  22. Well, I think everything is going to be smoother once we get the loadings sorted out. My instructor was having problems "popping" up to me on docks and I had trouble sustaining the dives down to him on docks. Part of the problem might be that he was under a Competition Tri (150), while I was jumping a Hybrid (190). 23. Well, we were at a Pink Skyvan boogie with one altitude.
  24. Looks like a goldmine of information right there. Thanks .
  25. ... and if she has no children IIRC. You have to remove yourself from the gene pool to qualify. You don't actually have to die... HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
