(and for all the right wingers who have already started typing an angry reply - yes, Biden is going through something similar.)

What a time to be alive. At least the dotard qualifies as a Boomer (just barely). Biden is too old and is from the previous generation. You would think the baby boom generation would be in charge by now.

I confess I don't understand why the Dems seem so passive in the face of the Great GOP Lie Machine.

That's easy. Angry frightened people get passionate. The left (actually the center in the USA) is not yet frightened. But the successful attack on reproductive rights is changing that somewhat. What are you doing about the great lie machine?

Isn't he still blocking Ukraine from using it???

No, and he never did except for an episode of blocking it out in an area near Crimea for a time.

I think it's slightly more accurate to state that it's the people who don't vote who have given us the leaders they deserve.

There is truth in that. When you get down to it about a third of the people will be voting for Trump. The other 2/3 s can stop him if they can be bothered to.

Rather strange what qualifies as a cheery projection these days, no?

The outcome of the election is largely up to the will of the American people. Yes, I know the Electoral College slants in favour of whoever is the R nominee but even so in a semi-democracy the people get the leaders they deserve. If Trump gets in again who is to blame? It is not the media or the corporations. Neither of these vote. The people vote if they are so inclined. It is just freaking mind boggling.

From the synopsis it sounded to me like shitty Justices are going to lose it. Every question I heard they asked was about practicality and political expediency rather than the Constitution.

I'm pretty sure we all know and knew that the narrowly decided CO ruling would not stand. It is going to be overturned most likely unanimously.

Geez.  That's terrible news for Mike Johnson and the GOP; chaos reigns and they've effectively become impotent.  Thoughts and prayers.

Expectations are very low and being met daily.

I would separate the two, and also not take one statement by a non-native speaker of English as indicative of whack-job status.

Yes to this. The comment he made was a little cryptic and could easily be sarcasm. And his recent posting record shows that he mostly posts helpful comments in other forums here and not much in SC.

Sorry to hear of your infection. Since from your previous posts we know you are woke - I guess it's a burden you will just have to live with.

Is there such an affliction as “trollism”?

Wikipedia gets into it in excruciating detail.

The part I find offensive is the 'good racism' that underlies its origins, the culture of victimization, the identity politics and the denial of any perspective that is not in conformity with its belief system.

I'm sure there are good qualities that I missed.

That is because you are laser focused on your anger over the feeling that someone may get something you don’t feel they necessarily deserve. And are completely unwilling to acknowledge the advantages you have and did nothing to deserve. It is an egregious form of entitlement.

I have seen Canuckians spout conspiracy bullshit about all sorts of things also.

    And Brits.

    And so on…

The USA doesn’t have the market cornered on tin foil hats. They just get more press than those igloo dwellers up north!!!;)

Conspiracy believers and antivaxxers both haunt the dz here. But are a small minority.

I read a news post about some MAGAT claiming Taylor was after Kelce for the $70,000 bonus he received for winning the AFC championship.

Completely ignorant of the fact she's a self made billionaire.

    Genius.

70k? That’s probably about what it will cost her to fly her jet from Tokyo to see him play in the big game.

The project is a true renewable energy behemoth, spanning 4,600 acres, comprised of 1.9 million US-made First Solar panels. It holds a capacity of 875 MWdc solar, and nearly 3.3 GWh of energy storage. It has a 1.3 GW interconnection capacity.

That is a big project. 7 square miles of desert needed. California is not the only state that can do this, but not every state can. I found this interesting page on CA energy sources. It's already 2 years old so it doesn't include this facility coming on line.
