  1. HMA 340 VS 500.......it makes a difference!!
  2. I have both kinds of HMA. PD's and Mel's but the latter IMHO is much better; Mel's is thinner, almos hals the size.
  3. I would rather say that swooping without beeps is somewhat dangerous. The eye leads but the beep confirms and I have seen many more swoopers hit the ground without beepers than the ones with.
  4. Really love the RDS but the linesets are even better!!! I have the PD's HMA linesets as well but they have nothing to do with Mel's and are completely different from the HMA lines that the PD guys used to fly.
  5. I guess you and me Spizzarko are flying exactly the same wing loadings. I have Mel's lines and rds and find them awesome. I will have to try both of the canopies and see what fits me best. Thanks for the help. Thinking about JVX as well but seems somewhat difficult to ride.
  6. I have flown the 111 the 103 and I am now trying the 90. Unfortunately there is no 96 around that I can demo. The 111 I do not like that much compared to the 103 that I love. I bought the 111 and the 103 before the weight restrictions, but the fact is that now I cannot load weights due to my personal weight. This is why I was asking if the velo pilots are flying smaller wings in order to keep the 2.5 range or if they kept flying bigger wings with a lighter loading 2. /2.3.
  7. I was wondering what are the current wing loadings and wing dimensions that are used in distance competitions now that weight restrictions have been applied. In particular are the Pd guys flying the same "bigger" wings at lighter loadings (2.1 / 2.2) or are they flying smaller canopies at very high loadings (2.5/2.6) ? I am flying a Velo 103 at 2.17 and was wondering if, for the distance comps, a Velo 90 at 2.5 or a Velo 96 at 2.3 would be better. Thanks
  8. I have purchased 2 complete RDS systems from Mel and 2 HMA line sets last month. I live in Europe and everything was perfect from first time e-mail to post sales service. Openings are good in any condition.............. I am a happy skydiver!! ;-)) Thanks Mel
  9. You might cast your vote in Italy as an AIRE (Italia living abroad) but speaking about Italy you might not have clear the differences between "camera" and "senato". At the Senate Berlusconi has had for sure the majority of the casted votes. At the Camera they are counting but the difference is aprox. plus 25.000 votes on Prodi's side that in no way are enough to balance the plus 500.000 that Berlusconi obtained at the Senate then technically Belusca, has the majority of the casted votes even though he hasn't won the elections. On the other side I myself are an AIRE eventhough I spend most of my time in Italy and thanks to some burocratic disease I, as many other thousand of people, did not receive in time the papers that would have allowed me to vote!!! Might just be a coincidence but what an excellent coincidence for Mr. Prodi.
  10. Thanks, for the info's. I think it will be Lodi for me this time.
  11. So many words written, by so many that have absolutely no knowledge of Italy and Italians. Do not forget that more than 50% of the population voted for Berlusconi and that Berlusconi's party is by far the first Italian party 25%.
  12. I am an Italian skydiver who will be staying in San Francisco for a couple of days and wanted to jump on Sunday. I am a freeflyer and was wondering wich DZ do you suggest in the San Francisco area. I am mostly interested in a powerfull plane and the chance to have a good number of jumps on a Sunday. Thanks
  13. Ski helmets have a thicker inside and therefore are heavier than the skydiving ones. Ski helmets if homologated, and many are, need to be more resistant than skydiving ones but this envolves weight. Racing ski helmets made out of composites are almost the same as skydiving helmets but you will not have the chance to buy one and if you get to have one they would be priced even more than a skydiving helmet.
  14. [email protected] You can write an e-mail in english to this guy. He jumps at the DZ and can help you out.
  15. Reggio Emilia aprox. 1 hour south of Milan. Otherwise there is Casale that is inbetween Milan and Turin or Cumiana that is also near Turin. Skydive Tortuga is to far away. None of the mentioned DZ are open during the week. Tortuga is open if there are enough people around eventhough during winter it is COLD!!
  16. If you learn when it's small............it's gonna be easier when it's big!!!
  17. Just waiting for the guys at Airkix to send me the pic's. By the way I had to change my tunnel suit for a much slimmer one!!! The place is awesome. I reccomend it to all who want to freefly in the tunnel and I reccomend the organization that found a very nice, cheap and extremely clean hotel nearby.
  18. We just came back from a 10 hour jam session at Airkix and I can honestly say that this tunnel is second only to Eloy!! The air is smooth and the power is more than needed. We flew a 4 way sit star and a 4 way sit flower without any problem. I'll try to find the pic's!! Bella!!!
  19. It seems as though they didn't make it. Any news?
  20. 5 hours for me and very strong sit flying skills plus our instructor has more than 100 hours!! Thanks
  21. It's me again.............. So how is head down in the bedford tunnel after the upgrading? Fabian does'nt count, he is light and extremely experienced and he flyies head down in all tunnels across the world. P.S. We are 10 freeflyers and ready to book 8 hours in mid january but power is what we are looking for so can someone help us with this final call? By the way are there head down spotters in bedford or in Air Kicks? We are bringing are own instructor from the US but a head down spotter would be appreciated.
  22. Thanks Philh, but I've done all of that stuff. I transition on my head with a half front loop and if there is enough air I get to stay quite stable..............air is the problem though with my kind of weight!!! I might try both. Are they far away apart? By the way thanks to Paulipod for the honesty.
  23. Ok I am planning a trip to the UK for some tunnel time (60 min.) and having flown 5 hours in other tunnels I am now planning to work on my head down skills. I weigh 92kg and fly all sit fly positions in any kind of tunnel eventhough in the slow ones it gets kind of tough. Head down is a problem except for Eloy. My question is: Airkicks or Bedford for headdown tunnel?
