I am absolutely not convinced of what you are saying. The Italian Swoop Tour has purchased and uses a super efficient system that has been tested in all conditions and speeds. I personally used it when testing skies as a downhill competitor and it never has failed once. It has a smal portable computer that registers and prints all sort of data. The sensors can be set at 15 metres but there is also a model that goes up to 30 metres apart. The system btw is wireless. Check the web site www.microgate.it 4000$

I had the ring mod on for a month or so and noticed some little dents in the grommets that would have damaged my HMA 350. I now have 26" risers and pulled the mod of. These risers are awesome!!!

Visual for Swooping (Was - audible for swooping?)
kamalasound replied to Bolas's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Happened to me to land twice in the water with viso and optima and both with protektor and...........I now have Neptunes. Fed up of using the Lars and Bruschetta as disposable items. -
I started out with neptune's then switched to Optima and Viso but once the going gets tough, the tough get going and you better have Neptune's if you do not want to find yourself using the audibles as disposable products. Viso's and Optima's are absoultely useless if they get in touch with water. Swoopers no very well that sooner or later you will have a nice swim..........

I'd love to try your job!! What happened to you out there. You appeared unbeatable during Round Robin 1 and 2 and then? Do you think Luna Rossa was hiding and came out with new stuff on the boat just for the semifinals?

Sorry guys, it's an Italian Party tonight!!! Luna Rossa 5 - Oracle BMW 1

I am trying to get in touch with him, but still no success. I thought he was out of office for some time. -
I jump 24" risers and might not feel the difference but I'll give it a try in the next days. Thanks for the pics!!

US dropzones with PAC 750's?
kamalasound replied to Dumpster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
So what about the Pac now that a couple of years have gone by? Is it worth the price? Is it better than a Porter for a DZ owner? -
Any pictures?!

I am living part time in South Kensington London and wanted to understand which would be the nearest to my place and the best one for a freeflyer and a swooper. Thanks

5.3 was the point. I missunderstood the point twice while reading it. Thanks I was not insulting, I was just sure that addendum B did not give me the correct answer. -

You still do not understand that the difference between the course and the distance between the cells is not clear in the rules. Just damn tell me if they have to be at 70 metres or if this is not the case. BTW there are going to be 3 FAI CP judges therefore they will set up the course. I am just wanting to know now. -

Morris, what distance do you set them during the PST? -

Hey Belgium genius, if you were to read english you would notice that there is no specification of the distance between the two set of cells that will decide the correct speed. They could be at 10 20 or 30 metres distance one from the other and this would make a huge difference in average speed. We are now setting them at aprox. 15 metres and speeds are high in the 90's km/h, but if we set them further apart they will be lower obviously. -
Faster overall, but I feel the difference during the recovery arch; it does seem to lose less speed than the 500

I have both lines on my velos and honestly think there is a difference between the 2.

I have no idea if anyone of you will be in Italy on the 14 - 15 April, but we are organizing the first meet of the Italian Swoop Tour that will be held on the beaches of Anzio (exactly where the U.S. troups landed to save italians from nazism). The competition will be distance and speed and wil be held according to the FAI rules. Gates will be 1,5 metres and security issues have all been delt with. We are not understanding though if there is a prefixed distance between the 2 speed gates in order to have an appropriate measurment comparing to other competitions. I mean, we can set the gates at any distance and set the computer to have a correct speed reading but the closer they are the higher will be the speed because it measures the medium speed between the 2 gates therefore I wanted to know what is the international prefixed distance between the two gates. For more info's you can PM or send e-mail to: [email protected] -
It looks as if there are going to be 2 DZ's in Sardinia this summer and both in the southern part just near Cagliari. In august the guys from Molinella fly their plane and crew to Castiadas and jump on the beach all day long. You will find info's regarding the DZ's on the website.

I am planning a trip to the Maldives and would have loved to fit in a couple of jumps. A friend of mine who has just come back saw some ads of tandem jumps but did not take any further details. Has anyone any idea of were and how often the DZ is open?
-
I would suggest you get more detailed information regarding Arezzo because Olav is no longer there nor is Manuel Basso. It still is a very nice DZ but not as busy as it was in the past. Molinella DZ near Bologna is very busy and now has a swoop pond. Bologna is an hour drive from Florence and the guys at the DZ are very friendly. If you are looking for the best DZ as for weather and views you then have to come and jump in Nettuno, just 40 km south of Rome. The Dz is just 500 metres off the beach and the views of the Pontine Islands are awesome. PM me for further info's. BTW,................ I jump in Nettuno.

I have a 91 miles logged on my Viso on a 270° and video footage of the swoop. I normally get up to 75 miles but never made back up to 90.
