  1. Skydive Thiene is very close to Vicenza and is an awesome DZ with a Pilatus and a Heli!! Check that out. Arezzo is way to far away for a weekend jumper.
  2. Nice Pauli.......this really convinced me!!! Thanks
  3. As soon as the weather turns bad in southern europe I'll catch a plane and come and visit. Thanks for the info's. My problem is my exit weight..........94kg+ rig.
  4. I was wondering if the Bedford tunnel has enough air flow for head down tricks and consistent freeflying? Looks from the picks and the data that the speed won't allow heavy freeflyiers to properly fly. Please some advice from who has been in there...........not on the belly!! I am planning a trip to the Eloy tunnel but would rather stay in europe if the tunnel has enough lift.
  5. Training for the 4 way would be the correct answer..............
  6. My dream vacation would be to have landings, packing area and manifest all at the beach and this is because not all of our wifes skydive and they want to spend the vacation with us!! Therefore such a place would give us the chance to sunbathe with the family, have someone pack for us and get a 20 minute time off up in the sky. I'd be there every single vacation. It is important for it to be in a safe place.........no dangerous beach.
  7. I was planning a week in Cabo San Lucas from the 20th of august to the 28th. Will the DZ be open all week long or just on weekends? Is the DZ on the beach or beach landings are occasional? Thanks
  8. You will have to travel up north because the closest Drop Zone is Pontecagnano and that is in the Campania Region just near Salerno, south of Naples
  9. It is not far away if you are driving. I have no idea if there are any trains connecting Cortina and Thiene in summer but you can check on the " ferrovie dello stato" web site.
  10. I heard Gran Canaria is awesome but ticketss a 30 euros.....that's almost 40$!!!!!!!!!!!! What about Cabo San Luca?
  11. It's not a matter of kilometers it's more a matter of the highway you will have to take. It's large and fast from Sirmione to Bologna but then come the mountains and you will have to slow down quite a bit on those curves. Anyway aprox. time from sirmione to Arezzo...........I would say 3 hours, 1,5 to bologna and another 1,5 to arezzo. Ravenna might be more than an hour but anyway never more than 2 depending on traffic. You can take a train but it will take you ages!!! Consider the price of gas in Italy..........it's almost 3 times than in the US therefore a trip to arezzo can become somewhat expensive if you are short on money. Blue ones Blue ones
  12. Here's my problem: I'll have to stay 30 days without skydiving if I won't find a Dz in a very nice place were my wife can lie on the beach and sunbathe and were I can jump and stay with her while someone packs for me!!! I have some places: Sardinia Italy but I'm italian and I've been there 1000 times Grand Canaria.....??? never been there?? Please any other ideas are greatly appreciated. Anywhere in the world would be fine just don't have me stay 30 days without skydiving. Thanks
  13. I was there in December and didn't get to go because of uncertainty in the plane. Anyway the DZ isn't in the Dubai Emirate but in the one next door and it can take some time to get there. Try emailing the guy that runs the dz he answered me a couple of times. Blue ones
  14. You gotta take a taxi to get to Kolomna and the only hotel availlable is something to talk about..........great place to skydive though and tickets are so cheap!!! Have fun
  15. Ok let me explain, I'm italian and live in Italy. Garda is in the northern part of Italy and probably the place where you will find plenty of skydivers is Ravenna on the Adriatic coast not to far away from Sirmione; probably an hour drive. Ravenna is close to the adriatic riviera and this makes it a perfect place in august. They fly a CASA almost like a skyvan. The drop zone's name is Pull Out and they work 7 days a week in summer. Thiene is nice but terribly hot and probably in august there will be no one around being it in the middle of nowhere. Arezzo is awesome, has 2 planes pilatus and cesna grand caravan and is near florence. This is the place to be if you are in central Italy. Fano is on the adriatic coast south of ravenna and is very nice especially in august when they have hot air baloon jumps and night jumps. Ali marce should be the name of the DZ If you are going to visit Rome then come to NEttuno just 60km south of the capital and an awesome place to jump. Have fun I would reccomend Ravenna for the proximity and I would book a baloon jump in Fano if I were you.
  16. Plenty of injuries especially to my back and lately to my shoulder. Doctors continue telling me I should take from 3 months to 12 of rest especially after having broken something inside my shoulder. I should undergo surgery and rehab for 8 months..........so my decision is.........no more Rx RMN ecc. no more doctors, I just keep the pain and go on freflying and swooping!! Blue ones
  17. I have 3 Rawa and I would say they fit perfectly but it can feel tight so if you fall in the middle I would suggest the LArge.
  18. I happened to be in San Antonio for business and Skydive San Marcos is the nearest place to the city. The DZ is easy to find and as soon as you get there the entire staff is incredibly friendly. I had my first jump of the day with a great freeflyer and it was him who asked me!!! Thanks Brian!!! The loads go up one after the other having this place an enormous amount of tandem jumpers but never have I been posponed to let a tandem in. Fun jumpers are treated in a wonderfull manner. I managed 7 jumps but I could have done more than 10 easily if it were not for the lack of packers. The 2 that are dedicated tu staff and fun jumpers have an enormous amount of work and this limits fun jumpers activity. Overall this place rocks!! Beware of police officers on the nearby roads!!!
  19. This is a great place for skydiving where freeflyers are more than welcome. People are very nice but be sure of having all your documents updated because safety is a priority in this DZ. The restaurant serves good Italian pasta and this can be an extra to the trip!!
