  1. Bryan x 2 Brains Eric Goodandplenty Lindercles Lisamariewillbe Notshannon Scott Stephen Sven Kim Texas Jumpjunkie It's about damn time!
  2. It was a relatively docile canopy that I was not weighing heavily at the time. And, I had to sink the reserve in around half brakes anyway, so there would not have been a significant difference in the flight from not being able to let the steering line all the way up into full flight. Obviously, I didn't have a lot of time to think about it but having more experience and being in that situation under the same canopy, yeah, I would probably land it. If jumping a high performance canopy, I would be quick on the handles. :)
  3. I think this would generally be what not to do and have questioned my decision since doing it, but I had the same thing happen to me back around 2000 and went to the reserve. I was in the basement from having someone over me that was not looking below them after tracking out of a bigway. By the time my main was out I was much lower than I care to mention and over the top of a neighborhood. I jammed the brakes a few times trying to get it out and burned up some altitude and then reached for the handles. I landed in a back yard where some kids were playing, dad was bbq'ing and he handed me a beer. It worked out well, but I would land the main in the same situation again. Lesson learned was don't get under someone on breakoff and don't pack at 2:30am in the dark after a friday night dz party. :)
  4. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I have had some difficulty finding anyone to do a rigger's course in TX. I think there are a few people other than me interested in attending one if there is anybody local who wants to teach. Thanks for the help. Best, scott
  5. Kenny, you will be missed brotha, but not forgotten. RIP Eternal Blue Skies -scott
  6. Sounds like one of the thought Iraqi Allies was a terrorist and walked right in with it under the impression as a soldier. I am also surprised this hasn't happened more, but its not over yet.
  7. Amen brotha. One should not forget the price of freedom.
  8. Iraq wasn't the first, and won't be the last. And, sure, it makes perfect sense when your leader is in the oil business and can lucratively benefit from his direction. Here is a better question for your concern with incurring less cost: why is it we had no major action in Iraq for months preceeding the elections and 3 days after Bush won, we had a major assault on Fallujah? You don't think that cost more money to buy him political time?
  9. Very true. Although, there are other countries which suffer from genocide. We have done nothing for those countries, and the difference is the oil. That in itself is the biased element making it unjust, so unless we are going to continue making the world a better place for rich and poor countries; there are other interests at mind.
  10. I never said I agreed with everything going on.. I just think there is no perfect solution and we have it made in comparison. Is there another country you'd rather live in other than the US? Not me.
  11. Yeah, okay. Who are the haters again? all the crying citizens that don't think twice about living in this country's freedom, and yet never hesitate to mock its policies. its a shame people shed blood for the ungrateful.
  12. it has to be both. if there is no attraction, there is nothing to talk about!
  13. good post. f**k the haters. god bless america!
