  1. The paragliders are doing a lot of d-bagging these days. No wing on the market at present can with opening shock at terminal. Alwaysa Rodriguez
  2. This being a BMI is tough, real tough. I've got to work on my posing. This pic should be amount me! They're part of my flock, still haven't got any suits though. I think they used me. CaCAW! Alwaysa Rodriguez Still is still moving to me
  3. We did a night jump here in Kamloops on Saturday. It was the B! I haven't done night jumps in probably 10-12 years. I was excited to give it a try again after reading the threads on this topic here. caCAW! We've got Classic IIs here with white wings. And this is what we did. We went with 6 glowsticks in each arm wing. The left wing had the yellow or lime green ones that are popular. This is because the brightness that came from them meant you didn't need an illumination source on your wristmount. So, the left wing had six. The right wing we went with a different color to distinguish who was who in the air. Cause we're flocking it. We didn't put any in the rib immediately next to the body because on the Classic II there is a hole at the bottom that made them fall out. Sneaking in a glowstick in the small rib next to your wrist is a good thing but, not mandatory to read your dial. Don't worry about the orientation of the sticks in your ribs. They seem to line up with the airflow in flight and didn't interfere with main activation. We didn't put any in our legs because there wasn't easy access like the arm wings. Next time we will figure something out and stuff those ribs to the gills. The flock was easy. We did a three way. Exit was tight because we've been doing that linking thing I mentioned in a recent thread. The colors were easy to see. And the burble hopping that Veggie and I did was hilarious. Zoom , zoom, zoom... We used the moon as a heading. It was a harvest one, about 75% full. We also had the city lights. Next time we're going to fly back over the city. The people on the ground could see us very easily. Some of the comments I remember were "you guys looked like fireflys" "UFO's " "Wild" "Crazy". Apparently most people saw us from exit all the way to pull time. Exit 9,500 Open 3,000. There were other loads of freeflyers and flatflyers but, nobody saw anything until they were under canopy. Sucks to be them, I know, I know... Gonna have to do another one next month. Faking awesome! caCAW! caCAW! Always Rodriguez
  4. QuoteHey guys & girls, We have recently been mucking around with a few rodeo / tracking dives and having tons of fun. One idea had that had come up was to have the rider dump off while still riding the wingsuit flyer. We were thinking that as long as the rider was sitting up and gave a vigorous pitch it would be no worries? What do we need to be aware of? Any suggestions? No problems experienced by us here. We've been having the riders dump out if they are still on at 5,000 so that they can watch as we kind of float away. We've had comments that it looks like we're not even falling away from them when they dump compared to flatflyers that look like they are going to hit the ground. Always still is still moving to me
  5. 3rd Annual Sandblast Boogie Presented by the Kamloops Skydivers Sport Parachute Club October 8th to 11th. Come jump the most unique natural swooping "pond" in Canada. Right on the sandbar next to the DZ on the South Thompson River. You've all seen the photos in Canpara and Skydiving of us doing it. Now we want you to come out and enjoy soft sand, still shallow water, and a large landing area. How shallow is the water? You'd have to lie down on your back to get your reserve wet. And you can always land at the airport if you change your mind. We've got a Bell 206 (4 passenger) helicopter as our primary lift capability. We are anticipating a few of you all to come out and we don't want you sitting around waiting for the Cessna to do its thing. Jumps will be at most $25 to 4,000. It'll depend on how fast and busy we get the helicopter going. The C182 will be available for those wanting to go higher. If you want to try Birdmaning it, we've got plenty of demo suits and First Flight Courses are available from qualified Birdman Instructors. You're welcome to camp for free at the DZ. There's an excellent hot shower. Or you can stay in the bunkhouse (the brown building next to us, for those of you that know it). $10 a night. We'll do a barbeque or head over to the Rockin' Firkin' for you guessed it Steak, Chicken, or Salmon, just kidding. They'll have their regular full menu. And a band on Saturday night. You had to be at May Meet to get that. There won't be any registration fee. It is Thanksgiving after all. Hope to see you here! Let us know if you are coming, it helps with the planning. Call 250-376-1213 or [email protected] This message authorized by The Organizing Committee For A Better 3rd Annual Sandblast Boogie PS. There'll be a downwind landing lane. Because it's so much fun laying a track in the sand. You have to be on the CSPA mailing list to understand where this statement is coming from. ;)
  6. Hi, I've updated the vid. The deployment doesn't look so bad when it's been slowed way down. http://skydivekamloops.org/videos.htm Always
  7. Who says you can't chew gum and rodeo a wingsuit at the same time? It happened cause here's the vid. http://skydivekamloops.org/videos.htm Hang around for the deployment. caCAW! caCAW! Alwaysa Rodriguez
  8. Chuck, Jay, Bodypilot1 Yeah, I guess my definition of linked is a little loose. It's more like a touch grip. You don't really need to actually grip anything. Don't know how to take a 3way linked off the Cessna...Can't imagine the center float holding hands with inside and outside and staying on the step. LOL Whoopsie! We'll try grabbing center's hands while he's holding the strut. I suspect the pucker factor will go up astronomically and result in some interesting folding of launches. We did consider sewing grippers near the wing cutaway handles. But, couldn't come up with an agreed thickness for them. Just kidding! caCAW! caCAW! Alwaysa
  9. Hey, So, we've been playing around with linking our exits, sort of, off the Cessna. The goal is to be "right there" when leaving and then get going with the skydive instead of going out and corralling everybody. We've got a large step on our C-182. We get three out (we've done 4way bird freeflown exits). The center does the count and holds with two hands. Inside has his right hand on the center's left shoulder. Same for the outside except it's his left hand on the right shoulder. We are all dragging a foot to make room on the step. Ready, Set, Fly! The wingers inflate as the center does too. It's all been pretty easy so far, surreal in fact, as we inflate and cheer "cacaw, cacaw" The center's job is to inflate slowly of course. Also, we came up with the following as a rule for exits. If on exit there is no one in front of you, then do a two second count before inflating. Anyone in front of you, do a one second count. This way if there is separation or the exit goes a bit funky we should be okay. The hand on the pack improves our timing immensely. We were all flat flyers in our previous skydiving lives and were used to doing these kind of float exits. BTW, we all jump Classic IIs. What do you all think? Questions/comments/queries? Cacaw! Cacaw! Alwaysa Rodriguez
  10. Hi, I did a balloon jump a a few weeks ago. It went well. I think it went that way because I kept my chin up on the exit . I pretty much inflated (Classic II) as I stepped off the balloon. And then a nice carve back to the landing area when I felt some speed. The previous birdies went head low for a little bit and then rocketed away (S3). Nothing major, just noticeable. On exit I was visualizing the base launches from Crosswinds, the movie. I think it was Loic in that. Also, I was shouting "Cacaw! Cacaw! " on exit. That helped me to relax and take it all in stride. Have fun with it. We've got a balloon festival coming here in a couple of weeks. I think that buzzing the balloons would be a blast
  11. Last Friday at the KJP Boogie in Pitt Meadows, BC King Air Exit: 12,500 Open:2,500 Freefall: 2 min 15 secs Classic II Neptune It did seem like it went on forever! Looks like we are in the range. Cacaw!
  12. What is going on down south? Making buzzing a BSR? Why not hook turns? More people have died that way than from buzzing. Someone must be trolling... I just don't get it Alwaysa
