  2. Hey all..... There is snow on the ground and its -15 celsius.... brrrrrr brrrrrr.... I'm needing some blue skies and 80 degree weather Any how my question is this............. What are the top 4 dvd's to buy about skydiving and base jumping..... I'm mostly interested in Freeflying, swooping and base jumping............... So if u could help me out here, it would be appreciated....... 3. 1) what made you start jumping / how you became interested? summer of 2003 a buddy from work talked me into trying it.... 2) How long have you been jumping? How many jumps do you have? Just over a year....56 jumps 3)What method of training did you do? did 6 IAD jumps last summer and then took an AFF course this summer......... AFF rocks compared to IAD... 4) how has skydiving changed you life? Well i basically can't stop thinking about jumping... I spend most nights after all my stuff is done surfing and reading and watching movies on skydiving and base jumping... Next spring can't come soon enough..... ============================== Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"

  5. Hey all............ I'm thinking of buying a camera.........a sony video camera that is..... I've possible found a connection that might help me out with the price..... So what cameras would u all suggest.... I plan on using it this winter when im out sledding and then next summer after few 100 more jumps, while i skydive.... For this winter while i'm sledding I want to be able to put camera in my warm jacket and run a cable to a small pencil size camera that i can mount on my helmet.... Basically once i figure out what camera, I then need to find these pencil cameras and choose one of those... Any and all help would be appreciated here.... Thanks Mike ============================= Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"

  8. Hey all........... I'm thinking of buying a dvd video camera this winter to use when im out sledding and one day to also be used when i'm skydiving... hopefully at the end of next summer i will have enough jumps in for that.... anyways what is everyone's opinion / thoughts on a video camera..... would prefer it to be as small as possible with the option of lens changes and possible to be able to hook up a pencil size camera to it..... reason for this would be for when i'm sledding....have the video camera in my nice warm pocket and have the pencil camera mounted onto my helmet.... thanks in advance on any info........ one more thing....i'm very green when it comes to video cameras.........that is on all the lingo and what they can do.... Mike............ ==================================== Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  9. I've got DZ's west at 8hrs, east at 14 hours and south at 6 hrs.... So south it is at Skydive Twin Cities..... It's worth the drive....great people and facilities...... ============================== Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  10. Thanks everone for the input.......... The video idea is awesome....Only problem is that the group of skydivers coming to my town for 3 days of jumping don't do any camera flying..... And I don't have the time to drive back on down to STC where I did my 50 odd jumps last month... I will try and figure something out......but probably not the flag flying under me during my canopy ride ============================== Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  11. Was curious, how one would fly a flag while under canopy....... The reaason for this is as follow's..... Our radio station is having this contest...... this is what's up for grabs... "Show Us Your ROCK 94 wherever and whenever! Whether it's on your body, on your house, on a street corner - whatever you want! It's up to you and the more original the better and it's for a chance to win an all-inclusive Trip for Two to Cancun! And just for entering, you'll have a chance at winning a weekly grand prize of a hundred bucks worth of great prizes from The Pit Stop Restaurant and Bar!" Now i thought a 5x10 banner with ROCK 94 on it would be a cool way to forsure win a $100 and good chance at winning the trip for 2 to Cancun... Now can u my fellow DZ.commers help me out here.. I also realize I have just over 50 jumps....not sure what kind of jump numbers a person should have but I would like to hear what u all have to say.... Thanks for any insite to this.. ================================== Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  12. This type of scam , seems to be the same one that was going on last winter on snowest.com snowmobile forum site...and a bit on ebay also.... Be careful......nothing worse than getting scammed by those losers... =================== Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  13. I did 6 IAD jumps last summer at age 39 and then went state side this July and did my AFF course and now have 54 jumps........... Was a great 5 weeks. -------------------------------------- Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  14. My DZ offered me 15 bucks or 75 bucks for the day which ever is less......... Not bad, but less is always better, especially for a new jumper trying to log as many jumps as possible. I've done 31 jumps in 10 days...which includes me doing the AFF course... Lots of money........ but worth it.... they have student rigs all the way down to 150's.. ================================ Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  15. During AFF we used ripcord ....after AFF i was trained into a BOC....deployment... The first jump with BOC and PC was good...did my practice pulls in free-fall and made a clean and successful deployment at 4000.... On my second jump, which was like 30 mins later was totally different.... when 4000 came to wave off and pull...I grabbed around like 4 times and couldn't find the PC.....1 word came to mind, F***K , first reserve ride with only 18 jumps.... I've got 31 jumps now and no more problem finding the PC.. =============================== Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  16. Good choice and good luck.......... I also just finished AFF......Took the course July 2nd and graduated July 5.... What a blast it is............... be safe and like everyone else said..........remember to pull........ =============================== Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  17. I've been camping out at Skydive Twin Cities for 10 days now and it is great. Lots of hot water and friendly people. The PACKERS rock also. The whole facility is awesome. Lots of green grass landing area's also. Great bon fires on Friday and Saturday night's. The AFF class/course is also awesome. Took only 4 days to get thru it. When the weather is good and the Twin Otter is flying, it is very easy to get 5 plus jumps. The instructors are great and spend as much time with you, as needed. All I can say is, if you live in the area or like myself 6 hours away and from canada, Skydive Twin Cities comes highly recommended.
  18. hey all.........did my 21st jump last night... 4 more until A license..... packed my first rig last night and jumped it.... And it worked........... very cool feeling ---------------------------------------------- Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  19. Just thought I'd let everyone out there know that I graduated AFF yesterday out at Skydive Twin Cities... Took 4 days with a total of 9 jumps...failed D1..... To much rain today to do the solo, so will just have to wait another day......... All the instructors at STC are awesome.......... many thanks out to Scooter, Mark, Miles, John, and Kerry....... Very relaxing place to jump and alot of cool people there......... 4 and half weeks till the vacation ends......... later all........... =============================== Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"

I know in our area when the airliners our coming in, the 182's have to hold at a certain altitude until it is cleared to continue........... ========================= Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
