  1. thanks d604 It's looking more & more like the state side would be the best place for me.............to start my jump career............. thanks, Mike Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"

  4. Hello all..... I need a bit of advice.....I live in Northwestern Ontario.......no DZ's in canada that are close... Manitoba is like 8 hrs and Toronto area is like 14 hrs...... Manitoba DZ's don't offer AFF but the Toronto area DZ's do...... Now state side there is one in Superior, WI 3 hrs away and the next one is by the Twin Cities about 6 hrs away...... I wanna take the AFF course this summer and get my License......... either in Canada or the US , it doesn't really matter to me....... the closer the better...easier to get more jumps in... If you could offer up some advice / suggestions that would be appreciated........ 5. Thanks Andyman If i ever get that way i will definitely look ya up.... I've been checking out the DZ's in Minnesota and Wisconsin........ Skydive Superior is actually the closest to Thunder Bay.....only problem is they don't have a website to get any info from........ Skydive Twin Cities has alot of info on there website and so far seems the best place for me to go.... I could handle the 6hour drive once a month to get some jump time in.....but the closer the better... Thanks Mike Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
  6. Hello all............ Did my first static line jump July 2003........... I talked 3 friends into taking the course and doing at least one jump..... I didn't get scared/nervous until my buddy was hanging off the wing spar.........when he let go.........i got real green, real quick... the jump master grabbed me, slid me over in front of him and started getting my pilot shute out.... Before I knew what was happening i was hanging from the wing spar......couldn't believe i was hanging there..... Before I knew what was happening the jump master was prying off fingers and the pilot was doing a wing wave.....poooooooooooof i was falling away from the plane.... When canopy opened , I was hooked........... Did three more jumps the next day and when they came back a month or so later I did another 4... I wish there was a DZ in thunder bay....myself and a few friends are planning on a week long trip to the Toronto area this summer to do the AFF course... Can't wait......... If anyone lives in the area get a hold of me....maybe we can set something to make a trip or 2 this summer cheaper to do a few jumps Mike Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!"
