At Zhills we had a guy called kickstart. Got that when he asked to borrow someones dirt bike. "you ridden one before dude, right" "Hell yeh, I am great on these things " "You sure,do you want me to start it ??? " "No, I know what I am doing, i'm not stupid " He then pulled up the kick stand and tried to kick it over with the GEAR SHIFTER TWICE Needless to say they don't start very well doing that !!!!! Repairs were needed,and he became kickstart (moron was already taken )

Why no licence ? Your profile states 250 jumps and a D Is this correct ? Generally no licence indicates lower jump numbers and may not have finished static line / aff . Paul.

Dave, you have my 100 % agreement, and I was hoping that people would realize that a low experienced jumper who just hit the floor is NOT the right person to put up what he THINKS he did to help other people. There truly is no benifit to this . I am the first to post facts if something happens and will always do that, if every DZ posted each time a jumper landed hard this forum would have 10+ new posts every day and 20 at weekends. As far as traffic, if you swoop here, 5000 ft pass only. Be safe. Paul.

Very current, 100+ in the last three months, 1500+ total, came back to the sport after a lot of years break. Great guy, i consider him a freind, doing great at every other thing he has tried, wingsuits ect. Just a mistake and he learned from it. Would you guys like the estimated altitudes from the people who watched it ??? They seem to guess between 150 feet and 500 feet to start the turn, canopy on the conservitive side for his body size 135 sq with a body weight of about the same, and it was a square. This is a non event and we are using some airtime to discuss it. Hope this helps all the people who need to learn from the internet, I realy do. Thanks, Paul

Ok details A jumper with a intrest in swooping turned in much to low trying to swoop the pond. He missed and thankfully did not break anyone or anything. He shook himself up and got checked out after a friend took him to the hospital. Things to learn. DON'T try to swoop like the guys with thousands of them. Always have a out Always know when to say no. And add this to the already long list of identical posts in this forum. :-)))

Get some real help from a well known and recommended swooper who has worked with people before . This will cost you but may well in the long run save you a lot of money trying by yourself, and getting no where . Might also save your life !!! Go to the swoop forum and post there, see what happens. There are several good ones out there,your choice. DO NOT listen to the guy with 100 jumps more than you who has a smaller canopy where (or near) you are, that's a recipe for disaster. Paul.

Had to put that up there Bill , just for fun :))) I can get the FJC covered pretty well, but having a problem with the "under canopy" stuff, he may do great and it's no problem,or he may not do well and helping him through it becomes tough. I know that a radio can fail on a level one,that's tough, but putting someone up KNOWING that there at a big disadvantage don't do it for me. Open to any and all ideas. Thanks, Paul. (at zhills )

You can speak any language you want on the radio Bill, but the DEAF guy ain't getting it. Wondering about a seperate pass with paddles and a fly along canopy close by for the first few until we know how he is doing.

Need some advice to help with this. I have been contacted by a deaf man who wants to learn to skydive (aff). He cannot lip read and talks with a note pad and then reads the reply from it . He can do sign language well. Is there a AFF instructor out there with any experience with this, as i have a big problem working with someone who I cannot communicate with at the most basic level. Is there someone out there who can teach a FJC in sign language ?? Nice guy, love to help him out or put him in contact with someone who can help him. A very sad day. Burt was one great person to be around and we looked forward to his visits to the big ways a couple of times a year in zhills. Always had a smile on his face and a great story to tell at the bar in the evening, not a bad bone in him.
