  1. This is so sad. Such a nice guy, good skydiver, great company.. We have lost a good man . My thoughts are with all who new him. Paul.
  2. With the recent discussions of jumpers that have low jump numbers jumping canopies that are way too small for them, it makes me wonder - where are the S&TAs?! The above was the original post. Here is what I think. Most of them are working to make sure people don't hurt. themselves under small canopies, hook turns ect My question would be where is the common sense the jumper who is buying the stupidly small canopy should have ??? Where are there friends who care ??? S&ta's advise on this, licenced jumpers should take responsibility for there actions, not turn round and blame others for there stupidity. I watched a jumper hook it in ,right in front of me six years ago and bust himself forever. Three days before I had talked to him about his canopy flight, this was the second time in a week. His FRIENDS told him he was doing ok,and said I was picking on him. Talking to people involves them listening, good luck with that. Paul. While I agree that there are people out there jumping canopies they should not have, they are a minority,Remember there are a LOT of well trained, sensible low time jumpers who do listen and will have lots of fun in this sport for years to come I hope. No one mentions them, there the one's we should be working with, hoping they become great mentors to other new jumpers.
  3. Febuary 13th 1995,finally found Skydive city, got some sleep and woke up to do the first jump course on the 14th. My instructor was a lady called Lori Love. After spending most of the day in the classroom got the pleasure of doing level one with her.I spent the next two weeks jumping and trying to learn, not a very good skydiver me,but I had a lot of encouragement from Lori ,spoke quietly when she thought I needed it and could raise it a notch when I was in need of that as well. When I became a aff I in 98 much of her demeanour stuck in my mind. Very cool lady and I feel that it was a stroke of luck having her to guide me as a new student at that time. Only met her once after that, (around 2002 i think),told her what I was doing now (still jumping) and she smiled as if to say "knew you would be" Very nice lady,I hope her father will be ok in this time of need. Paul Meagher.
  4. Hey Oren, so what is the difference between a fight at a DZ and a fight at NASA. WE DON'T WEAR DIAPERS WHEN WE TRAVEL TO A FIGHT and our employers don't supply them to the staff. Kevin,I think your "company" has had more trouble in the last few months than we ever will, thank god that we have our own criteria for employment ,if we worked on yours every fruitloop in the world would be after a rig,not just the one's we have now.
  5. And I guess that would be the staff. With the suits made just up the road and a lot of the "practice" jumps made here it was just a question of time before Jeff N and Chuck B got most of the staff at Zhills in the air in wing suits, there are few who have not tried it yet,but we are working on them. You would be unlucky not to see a few every day and it is raining them at the weekends.
  6. Because you are demonstrating fully clothed. Try one week the other way and see if they pay attention. If nothing else the staff at the DZ will be able to do a better plf,(not that they would watch !!!!!) See you Wednesday.
  7. 1300 my ass,you were so low the S&TA was having a fit. Those suits are dangerous, you hear me,you must be out of your tiny mind doing shit like that, just because you go low on flat jumps and are to free flying what a turtle is to sex toys does not mean that you have to tie yourself up so you can't move during the day as well. 1st one was fun by the way.
