  20. In 80's there was few big-way biplane diamond record and record attempts. The first real one was 28-way biplane arrowhead, the world record in that time (see photo). It was done in the September 22, 1985. In 1986 same group of jumpers try to do 32-way biplane diamond. The last biplane record attempts was done in Muskogee in 1988. The goal was 40-way. Now I need to find some special info about those formations and attempts. I like to know: who was pilot, who fly row 4 wings. How many attempts they did..... Who can help me??? 21. The first 2-stack This is how I had wrote it in my CRW history booklet (short english version) 1975-1976 All begins, like we believe in USA. Summer 1975 Mike Johnston and Mike Cerasoli came together and made the first planning canopy contact. Why I wrote, "like we believe" - the main reason are that there are also other names like Mike Barber and Bobby Gray who could be the first ones. Source 1: Skydiving January 30, 1980 number 7 "We had been flying in close formation for a long time, but had been afraid of actually making contact with another canopy until Mike Barber rode on the top of Bobby Gray's canopy durin about the last 100' of descent into the peas. Nothing terrible happened so Mac McGallum and Bobby went p and got an intentieonal hook-up in the next jump. Then Mike Barber and I (Carl Daugherty) got one one jump later." ....(Those attempts were made in July 1975) Source 2: Parachutist July 1996 (By Nancy Koreen) "One day in 1975 on the East Coast, Mike Johnston and Mike Cerasoli came together under canopy. It wasn't an accident, but rather the birth of what was to be a new skydiving discipline. They formed a 2-stack, the first formation with skydivers under open parachutes, and canopy relative work was born." I had not try to find those two Mike's from the East Coast or Nancy Koreen to find more details. Can anyone help? Pasi Pirttikoski CRW history collector
  22. When did he do a night 8 stack, and who was on it? Sparky No idea, only that small part of text in old Parachutist -> it looks that your 10-stack was in same time the first 8-stack at night Pasi
  23. About the first night 8-stack. Source: Parachutist Dec 1979 "The story of canopy crest" by Tom Courbat Raul Torres .... At Pope Vally he participated in the first 4-stack, the first night 8-stack, and he organized the first all-military 9-stack (over Fort Rucker, AL). Pasi
  24. Hi all! I find my files, that the first night 10-stack was done in Perris Valley, Aug 22, 1980. It was complete in the second jump (the first one was 6-stack). By the way, when was the first night 8-stack? Pasi Pirttikoski CRW history collector
