Did he not write that book 22 years later? There is documented proof the general was in town a few months around carsons claim for a ceremony or something. Would you accept the claim that Carson just forgot the date. The media is saying the general was in town around that timeframe and it was a function Ben would have probably attended although it was not the exact date the book stated.

There is NO evidence that he was ever "offered a spot" at West Point. None. In fact we know he wasn't. Westmoreland was not even in Detroit on the date Carson claims. He already admitted that the Yale course number was made up. The syllabus he presented as "proof" was from 2002, 29 years AFTER he graduated. There no evidence the Popeye's hold-up ever occurred. He lied about his association with Mannatech. You are grasping at straws. You sir are trying to convince staunch members of the invertebrate party of how much bullshit they have been swallowing. You know what came across my mind this morning. You are all too familiar with Mr. Carson's situation. You yourself have been a person to say something that was misleading here for years. And his weaseling continues. The last officer to be a General of the Army was Omar Bradley. Generals are not among the set of people who may nominate an individual to West Point. West Point does not grant scholarships. He was not offered a scholarship. He was not "offered a slot" by West Point. The guy is (apparently) smart enough to get an MD and become a surgeon, yet you claim he misinterprets what he's told about college. Carson embellished the truth in TWO separate books and on his Facebook page. Most of us call that lying. Whatever John just whatver.

It most DEFINATLY does work that way in politics and government. To say this isn't so is completely ignorant of the relationship canidates have with their donors and pacs after getting in office. A General of the army and members of West Point can't make a few phone calls and guarauntee you a spot at West Point knowing your excellent background and achievements. 2. I was just saying I could see a situation where it would be totally ok to defend yourself against someone coming at you with a car, but we don't know what happened in this incident so who knows why they were shooting. Also who the hell runs from the cops with a kid in the car.

You are the only one that said they did? It is against our policy to engage in pursuits AND shoot at moving vehicles. I wonder what their departments policy says. And we don't mnkw the details of why the shot. Even if it was against policy and the guy cornered them in and was about to run them over with his car in an alley I don't blame them for trying to stop from getting run over. I do blame them for killing that kid. I can't wait to see the whole story.

I know, have known and am very familar with how it all works. That being said how hard is it for a general, and members of the staff to tell someone it is in the bag. All they have to do is pick up the phone and call that senator, representative, etc and say this is our guy, please write the letter so we can process him in. They know they have the power to do it without needing someones preapproval. That works on all levels from getting hired on my department on up to presidents helping out their sons and daughters.

Well one naval academy graduate and one West Point graduate has recently spoke out about this and both agreed that what Carson said isn't true to the term of it but has been used by themselves and others to describe as how payment for those schools work.

Are you saying it is untrue that he ever met with the General and west point staff and was offered everything he needed to get into west point all he needed to do was go for it? Because the things he stated mean the same thing. If the number 3 guy from Apple came up to me and said I like your stuff I want you in our company and will get you a job. And if I declined any you went to check up on it apple would go no he never applied here but offers usually dont get recorded unless someone comes to apply, and the guy that offered it is dead so there is no way to confirm it.
