  1. I have 22 jumps and come to think of it, there is about 30-60 seconds when we hit about 11,000 that I feel nerves kick in. Once that door is open though . . . watch out cause here I come!

  9. Deland? Say High to Skymama. Isn't she from there? I will be going to Lake wales the day after Christmas. Collegiate Nationals! I should suck real good Will be fun though since I am from Miami it is almost like going home.
  10. Actually I am very altitude/surroundings aware when jumping. I have had no lack of altitude awareness at all. Just on this particular jump there was a Cloud cover from 6000 to I would say about 7500 and toward the bottom it got thick. In the process of doing the sit fly I got a little frustrated and when the cloud cover hit (this was not the first time in clouds either) I just lost track of where I was and got a little freaked. It was a combination of many things that did not go well and when I saw the ground I pulled instead of thinking. This all still sounds like an excuse and the truth is I just screwed up. It was a rookie mistake but not one I intend to repeat nor one that should be used to judge where I am at. I am sure even the most experienced of us have done something stupid at some point, possibly after many more jumps than I have. All I can say is that thank God no one was above me when I "corked" and it is a lesson learned.
  11. 4 grand being high?!!!!! Holy cow I still pull before 3500. Man this winter is going to be easy then. Do you really jump at 2000? Yikes! Now that's a hop & pop.

  23. As a jumper who just started this year, and plans on continuing to jump through the winter I would like to say . . . Thank you all for the advice. Iwas thinking about this just yesterday, when I was realizing that I do no think I can make it through the winter without jumping. Thanks again
