  1. If you feel you can't ignore it on your own, find the Google Chrome plugin called Hide Heid. It hides posts from specific users; it was written for the penultimate troll, Robin Heid. ***Marc and Ron's comments either dominate, divert attention or become integrated into every thread they jump into. They wouldn't if you (and everyone else) ignored them. Shall we spit in our palms and shake on it?
  2. I thought you were the joke! You always make me laugh. Most folks know me as a jokester. Us Christians make fun of a lot of stuff. Proverbs 17:22 New King James Version (NKJV) A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones. Progressive liberalism tends to break one's spirit. Yes, you so called friends of Jesus do make fun of a lot of stuff. Mostly people not like yourself. You are far from what the book you hold up preach. So is Putin and Trump. Putin is a killer and a brutal dictator. Trump is a liar, cheater and, a wannabe dictator. Hardly that what your book preach. You can toss out all of the Proverbs you can find to paste. They do not define you. Your words do and, they define you well. It is clear where your heart and beliefs lie. You idolize the likes of Trump. That is clear. There could be no God of peace and love that would approve of Trump, Putin and, Kim Jong Un. How can you? Religious zealots are always “The ends justifies the means” type of folks. While I know that people like Marc and Ron exist in large multiples I usually, and thankfully, don't know if one is nearby. They seem only to find their voices in pitch fork and torch bearing crowds and in internet forums like Speakers Corner. In the former they have strength of numbers and in the latter protectors who insist on decorum and reason when ridicule would do better. At any gathering of people who enjoy ideas they would be as welcome as a turd in the punchbowl. Thier hosts, unless their pleasures came from self flagellation, would quickly grasp that only a small group of adherents would suffer it for long. I draw no parallels. Bill has told Leroy, who only wanted to get a damn answer to his question, that Marc could just be ignored. Bullshit. Marc and Ron's comments either dominate, divert attention or become integrated into every thread they jump into. I have read some brilliant attempts to get them to see things differently or at least consider having an open mind. Nada. They just ignore it and go off to screw up another conversation in another thread. Speakers Corner, which I initially found surprisingly fun, is turning into an unwelcome party invite.
  3. As if that was your intent. You just lied, Ron. Time to go fetch some more forgiveness.
  4. You have us by the short hairs, Mr. Rush. I can only imagine what it must be like to have in my social circle, probably several circles as do you no doubt, so many serious thinkers, professionals, educators and accomplished entrepreneurs with whom I might discuss weighty issues. You know, like here on an obscure internet forum like SC. That your gifts give you that entree must be both humbling and rewarding. So much so, I'd guess, that even putting a worm on a hook while blue gill fishing must seem trite.
  5. I find it very interesting that you don't have a problem with all of this if Hillary had one. Remember Obama said that there's no way that anybody could affect the elections. But since Trump won the whole thing changed now didn't it. The two-faced double standard is appalling disgusting and obviously evident anybody who cares to pay any attention to the bullshit that you parrot here daily. But please keep it up. Do you suffer from written expression disorder? I ask kindly because what you just wrote is a grammar and cohesive thought disaster of the sort that often elicits unkind observations about your writing and thinking style. You said you graduated from High School and I'm willing to believe you. But truly, bits like this: "I find it very interesting that you don't have a problem if Hillary had one." Huh? Do you mean a meeting with Putin, an interpreter or, perhaps, different plumbing? In previous posts you wrote: "But he is not a politician now is he!" and ..."but he still my president needs the best I've seen in a long time", and "They'll had good things to say about Trump!", and "Know you want to talk about unkept promises?" Those are not examples of High School level writing. You make it seem that you do not know the difference between an exclamation point and a question mark. You also seem unable to frame simple sentences. To be clear, I think the grammar police are assholes. I am also a big fan of breaking the rules of writing. The thing is that you seem clueless as to which rule you are breaking. It is rather odd that you make no effort to improve your writing no matter how often your failures are publicly noted. That's why I'm wondering if it's something you simply can not control. If that's so, please say so and I'll be first to tell people to get off of your back. If it's not a consequence of a learning disability then please understand that one reason you are, by the many here, not taken seriously is because you express yourself so poorly. And you continue to do so even though the very computer you write from has spellcheck, grammar check and access to a number of fact checking search engines.
  6. No worries Bill, and no offense taken. Some truths are so self evident they bear repeating.
  7. The Holy Spirit is dealing with me now about this issue. At the time you were bragging about aiding and abetting an enemy of the U.S.A. in a wartime situation. I was angered and I reacted, yes, overreacted. I was foolish and nothing productive has come from my transgression. At this juncture, I sincerely apologize. I am sorry for my behavior and I ask for your forgiveness. And who advised you to rat him out? The Holy Spirit? The Devil? Some other poltergeist? I'm curious, Ron, if it's always the devil making you do it why do you need forgiveness? I found your private reply to me, a reply to this post which I reply to here, both nonsensical and self serving. I am stunned that you go through the day believing in woo-woo crap like that ratting out TK was an "ego linear decision based on personal emotion justified by acute patriotism". Hardly. You were just being a garden variety asshole. Why not tell TK directly that, like you, he also needed his conscience freed? My query was as to which Spirit caused you to do the awful thing that now needs forgiveness. And, if it was caused by one of your Spirits, then why would you need forgiveness? For your answer I'm told you are in therapy with the Holy Spirit. Nuff said, I reckon. Ron, I mean this: I think you are beyond bad for our country. You want to jam your religious garbage down all of our throats and cause us to live according to some damn idiot interpretation of those bogus old books you cherish. But that's not all of it. You also want the rest of us to live in accordance with the racism, bigotry, misogynism and intellectual laziness that is your natural self and which fits so neatly into the brand of religion you spout. The United States is just a locale, globally speaking, and just a moment in time historically speaking. Christianity is just one of the monotheism's all of which are plagiarisms from a variety previous one true faiths. There is simply nothing special about it. Worldwide, secularism is ascendant. The peoples of the world are realizing that less religion equals more happiness. Were you to pry yourself out of happy land and travel you might learn that multiculturalism thrives and the world by necessity is becoming more heterogenous over time. Views such as yours are in a long denouement and that will not change. Now that doesn't mean you can't fuck things up for the rest of us in the meantime. You can and that's my bitch. But in the end, and what consoles me, is that all that you believe will be left on histories dump heap.
  8. Marc, I have a video for you. I don't think you have the patience to watch it or the capacity to understand it but I offer it by way of explanation. The problem for most folks, like you, is that things happen too quickly or too slowly for them to comprehend. That, or things are too large or too small for them to grasp. I would prefer to offer to you one of Feynman's Cornell lectures but I doubt you would do other than consider it a waste of your valuable time. So instead here is a time lapse video of a glacier calving. Do yourself a big favor and think about it. https://youtu.be/7tyfSlnMe8E
  9. That and the ballot box again. Well that reply certainly makes things clear. I guess the harmless neighborhood kid who likes beating on cats is moving on to bigger game. It isn't just Ron who should make you worried. It's them and they don't think they need you anymore. They are that emboldened. He could easily have said, "Thanks, Wendy, I do expect that the Holy Spirit will fill all of the worlds hearts and change will come. Have a Blessed Day." Nope. They intend to ram it down our throats at the ballot box. Based on how things have gone, who can argue they won't? Progressives seem unable to stop believing that hugs will win the war when actually hugs are best reserved for after the war. Make no mistake about it, these crazy assholes have declared war on progressive values and they are winning. Now, we may hope to win back the House in November but they'll still have the Senate, Supreme Court and the White House. We may hope Mueller will deliver impeachable offenses and we may hope that something will come of it. On the other hand, they don't need to hope for what they'll damn sure have in November. Nor will they need to hope that in 2020 there will be another Jill Stein to take more votes in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin than the winning margin that gave Trump the Presidency. They can now expect it and they are acting like it. I say it again, it isn't Ron or Marc. It's them. And they do not feel that they need to pretend to play nice anymore. They have the ballot box.
  10. The Left has been embroiled in a cultural war against America since the advent of the children of the '60s. President Trump is our first wartime president in this cultural war. The progressive left cannot be bargained with any longer. It must be summarily defeated. The strategy, as I see now, is to make America economically and militarily strong and secure our borders and thus stop illegal immigration. The progressive left can only intensify the hatred and conflict of the division. They are well rooted in the shadow government and the deep state. They must be systematically uncovered and moved to a position of neutrality. The cultural war is similar to the cold war. Let us all hope and pray that we can tear down the wall before the nuclear option is mandatory. I'm a little surprised this revealing statement by Ron, and his few lame responses, have received so little play. This is not his ever quaint way of stating things. This is who he is and what he really believes. And it's not just him. This notion that he can be reasoned with or add to a conversation by explaining things from his extreme point of view has played out a failure here again and again. I've gone so far as to directly call him out for lying, for saying things he does not believe which, in allegiance to his twisted beliefs, he can not deny. Apparently lying about being a liar is taking matters a bit too far. Read his post for what it is: he wants us neutralized and he's not talking vasectomies, Marc. He is fatigued by efforts to bring us to our senses. He believes we can not be bargained with any longer and must be summarily defeated. Or, get yourselves ready, it's the nuclear option. There is a reason Ron isn't bothered by the idea of putting kids in cages. In his mind, the problem is not having enough cages. This is the drumbeat to anarchy that so many people chant to these days. However, right thinking people are still in the majority in this country. We do not need to let happen what is happening, especially the nirvana Ron envisions. But we need to stop limiting ourselves to discussing the words; we need to discuss the people. I once referred here to Ron and his ilk and received a warning from Bill. That was wrong. Ilk is not a pejorative term. More importantly, they see us as ilk's and that's how they are beating us. They know that ilk's like us will roll over on robbed Supreme Court seats, pee on our bellies and let pass into the cabinet someone like Betsy DeVoss and, just like crows, allow ourselves to get distracted by something shiny just before the mid-terms and fuck that up, too. Ron posted a road map to dystopia. If we don't change the conversation, that's where we're going.

  12. What amazes me is how a smug asshole like Trump can become President because his opponents are even worse smug assholes. This Country desperately needs a third party. If we don't get a successful challenger to the Democrat and Republican lock out of the last election then nothing will ever do it. we currently have the best president that we've ever had in your and my lifetime. The Left has been embroiled in a cultural war against America since the advent of the children of the '60s. President Trump is our first wartime president in this cultural war. 13. But of which country? A great comment from one of the most anti-American posters on this site! Marc, You are a Jingoist, in the colloquial sense. If that works for you and makes your day happier, go for it. But it is not anti-American to question national values. I would, in fact, argue that it is essential to the American experience. Joe Only three shopping days until the 14th anniversary of the prohibition against personal attacks on SC.
  14. It must be hard for you. Trying to argue with a man who knows words and uses them correctly. It just seems so unfair to subject your "logic" to such scrutiny. "Walk in to any gun show" These aren't complicated words, or logic. Bill lied. Half the country can't legally purchase a gun without a 4473 check. No kid under 21 can legally do it for hand guns anywhere. He didn't do it by mistake, or ignorance. He doesn't want to admit it, nor do you or Skydekker. He had a chance to take it back, but instead tried to double down. He then tried to tie me to fear of sharia or gay marriage, which is pathetic. (I live in San Francisco, graduated from Berkeley) It's right out of Trump's book. Deflect, attack, admit no error. You guys give Rush shit for this sort of thing all the time. Be honest and admit to the same. All the postings here have limited impact on wingloading BSRs....do you really think it has > 0.00000% impact on legislative policy? Or will save lives? This is a circle jerk, nothing more. Contacting your representatives, and most importantly voting is what matters. The gun opposition openly acknowledges that it's not the NRA money that gives them power, it's their voting members. Though maybe it jumped the shark in selecting Ollie North as its new lead. A key benefit (one of the few) of the Trump election is that the 2nd amendment will remain secure for decades longer. HC could have threatened that. I'm not thrilled with the likelihood we'll regress on gay rights, but it's the one silver lining. Now that's interesting. No erosion of your gun rights is preferable to the preservation of another American citizen's human rights. You don't mean that, right?
  15. That sentiment absolutely boggles my mind. Coming from a poster that thought Obama was a Kenyan Muslim socialist who was planted to take over the US government, grab your guns and set the stage for a Muslim invasion - that boggleation of yours is pretty funny. Given that Ron's statements are apparently not tethered to his beliefs examining them is a complete waste of time.
  16. I also have a couple of expensive skydiving rigs, a bottle of 40 year old Glenfarclas with only a few drams consumed, a few pairs of expensive sunglasses and framed piece of priceless art. (attached) And don't forget: a Beretta 1301 Tactical loaded with buckshot.
  17. I can’t say a firearm has saved me, but it did save my wallet once. I’ve never needed a seatbelt, AAD, airbag, smoke detector, fire extinguisher, or for at least 20 years, a spare tire. So why go through all the trouble for any of these just in case items? Self reliance I suppose. I have answered your questions. Here’s one for you. You mentioned giving an inch. What happens when they outlaw your 12 guage? I mean, you don’t need a 12 guage for home defense. A 16 guage would work and less risk to neighbors. Derek V Good question. My answer is simple: I would rely on what would then be a more reasonable interpretation of the Second Amendment. I'm cool with being well regulated. I am also cool with someone pointing out that automatic weapons are not the same as muskets. I also think my constitutional right to keep and bear arms will survive examination of my totally sweet, you need to get one, Beretta Tactical. I think there is a lot of camels nose under the tent freaking out going on by those who will not give an inch and that's a big part of the problem.
  18. Colorado passed the magazine limit law. What is the result? Magpul left the state, taking jobs and tax revenue with them. You can go to another state and buy as many 30-round magazines you want and bring them back to Colorado. Since they are not stamped with a DOM, there is no way to know if you had them before the law or not. You can go into gun shops and buy 30-round magazine kits and in about 10 seconds, assemble a 30-round magazine. So, net result? Loss of jobs and tax revenue. Good job, idiots. Where am I? No, I do not hunt. I haven’t bought a firearm in probably 5+ years. I don’t have a large collection. Yes, I carry a firearm. I also have several fire extinguishers, check my spare tire regularly, wear a seatbelt, have 2 smoke detectors in the house (just had to replace one), have an AAD in both of my rigs (one speed cypres and one vigil), and wear a helmet when riding one of my motorcycles. I do not believe the pro-gun control is about saving lives. It is about gun control. More gun control laws are not going to solve the problem. Derek V Except for carrying a firearm, I know people who've been saved by each item in your list. That's the thing that leaves me baffled. Ron say's he carries as do all of his friends but could not name a single time he or his friends have been saved by their CCW or, for that matter, saved anyone else. Have you been saved by your CCW? Sure it might happen but you might as well ground yourself from lightning every time you stop for all the likelihood of needing it. So why go to the trouble?
  19. Right, that would equate to a national registry. That is why no one knows how many guns are out there. Just the number of back ground checks. They may not have bought a gun or have bought several with 1 background check. Derek V Derek, I come by my guns from my hunting history which, except for gophers, is long gone. Outside of that I have a BRNO flare launcher and a Beretta home defense shotgun. Do you hunt or collect? I ask because it seems usual to me that hard core 2nd Amendment never give an inch gun people are more in the AR-15 shoot trees or fear the government crowd. Where are you?
  20. Yep, all of that has to be kept by the dealer for 7 years, I think. Derek V By the dealer only? Interesting. You'd think the Fed's would slurp that up before giving me the nod. That would then be a record showing that I got it playing by the rules not from my cuz.
  21. Logic? For example. I buy a firearm from a friend without complying with the background law. How would law enforcement know and then prove beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law I bought it without a background check? Derek V Derek, When I bought a shotgun at a gun shop last year they did a background check. I'm curious, do you know what information is given by the shop? Name only? Type of Gun? Serial #? Joe
  22. I agree that certain types of firearms should be controlled, but the current system works to control those firearms. I do not see how registration will prevent mass shootings. I do see how registration is the first step in confiscation. Pro-gun control supporters will take any new gun control laws they can get. Here in Colorado, 5 years ago they passed 2 new gun control laws. Universal background checks, which did nothing, and magazine size limit. The state senator that sponsored this law, Mary Hodge, thought that this law would cause 30-round magazine to quickly be used up since she thought they could only be used once. This is why I do not trust new gun control laws and ask how they would work. I don't see how they would. I think the end goal is extreme gun control, verging on confiscation. One small step at a time, aka boiling a frog. ***I've been open about what firearms I have and want to protect. Are you willing to post what you have that you want to protect? I ask the same of everyone posting on this thread. You made a jump from "there is a problem" to "action is required" to what guns do you want to keep? I do not agree with that chain of reasoning. You want to save lives? Require GPS speed limiters, ignition breathalyzers, real initial and recurrent driver training, and cell phones that are disabled in vehicles. Now there is some low hanging fruit. Derek V Derek, That there is a problem and that action is required are my personal opinions. When I see a problem I want to fix it. I'm not sure that is making a leap. As to disclosing our personal arsenals, it seems to me that there might be a real connection between the types of weapons we own and where we each stand on interpreting the Second Amendment. Mostly, I was hoping someone like Marc would exclaim that he doesn't want the bad guys to know he has guns in his house! Or that saying so on the internet was the actual first step towards registration!! Joe Derek, Now I'm intrigued. Are you uncomfortable disclosing certain weapons in your arsenal? Joe
  23. OK, I agree with the above. Have a wonderful day. What was wrong with this bit? "that unless you believe that you can not say it, hence". I get it that everything is going up and up with no relief in sight but, at least out here in Libland, the cost of cutting and pasting is still holding steady at zero. Some cynical bastard might think that you hold that you can say it and not believe it, hence your exclusion. Care to try again? Ron, do you hold that you can say something and not believe it and is that why you, apparently intentionally, excluded that bit when you quoted me in reply? Ron, this won't just go away. Why not just admit that you say things you do not believe and be at peace?

  25. Please explain. Derek V Derek, I think he's pointing out that the question is unanswerable as to how many. It might be arguable that no system of controlling who has certain types of firearms could succeed without registration. Hence, if you agree that certain types of firearms should be controlled then you ought to agree that registration is part of the solution. I'm guessing that you definitely do not agree. Me, I'm converted to Bigun's definitions and solutions, in the main, simply because I believe there is a problem and action is required. Better than others he is able to wrap it up, and explain it, sensibly and without undo hardship or infringement. I've been open about what firearms I have and want to protect.
