  1. congratulations. officially or unofficially, my hat is off. S.E.X. party #1 "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "f*#k, what a ride".
  2. I actually didn't answer that one in my post, so my last jump was on this past sunday, and had PC hesitation almost to terminal on a lightning... it hurt, and I couldn't find anyone to kiss me better. S.E.X. party #1 "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "f*#k, what a ride".
  3. ok, I was really hoping someone else would ask the next question, but here it is... When's the last time you jumped, and what did you do on it? S.E.X. party #1 "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "f*#k, what a ride".
  4. that's 3 for 3 that didn't cook for themselves... hopefully someone in the community is eating home cooked meals... I thought it was just me on the phone number and drive thru diet S.E.X. party #1 "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "f*#k, what a ride".
  5. Just a thought... I was reading a thread earlier about how where a forum is on a page may make the reader less likely to pop in and see what's going on. Here's the idea part: what if there was a "my favorites" option where as a dz.commer you could choose your 5 (for the sake of a number) favorite threads, and have them displayed at the top of the screen. I'm not sure how complicated that is, just kinda popped in the vaccuum I call a head and echoed for long enough that I thought I'd post. edited to add: I actually meant to say 5 favorite forums, not threads. 6. I've had it... I'm so incredibly bored sitting here, wanted to post about something, but couldn't think of a damn thing, so here I am posting about nothing. I suppose anyone who wants to chime in right now so I'm not the only one babbling would be much appreciated... how about this, every 10th person has to ask a different question... doesn't matter what it is, just one that hasn't been asked before on this thread. I'll start. I'll keep it really light for the first one, and we'll see where it goes from there. What was (or is) for supper tonight at your house? Mine was pizza S.E.X. party #1 "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "f*#k, what a ride".
  7. I'm bored enough I might just go check S.E.X. party #1 "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "f*#k, what a ride".

  9. It's about an hour and a half north of TO I think... I never made the drive last time I was there, but I think that's what I heard the time was. It's not all that far from Barrie. 10. quote] If your into bigger jump planes HEHEHE, yeah, I'm not really into big jump planes at all.... I haven't really decided how far I'm willing to drive to tell you the truth. I jumped a few times at STI last season while I was there, but honestly found it was too close to where I lived... I know that sounds odd, but that's what I found. Anyhow, I looked at the calendar of events, and I'm thinking I probably will check it out a few times at least. I hear something about nylon crack

  12. I'll be in Borden unfortunately... I now have wheels and a place to sleep though, I just need to find a place to park it. 13. Nice work! Already selling off that kinda stuff to get jumps eh? I sold some stuff two summers ago to get jump money too... I'm in the process of getting it back slowly, but jumping and gear still comes first. Welcome to the realisation of being an addict. 14. This isn't really my story, but I'm not sure anyone who knows it would post it here, and I really think it's funny, so here goes... There was a tandem passenger on the ride to altitude who leans back to the TM and asks, "can you explain the cutaway thing again?" The TM goes through the explanation for him again explaining that in the event of a mal, he would "cutaway" the main canopy to give nice clean air to deploy their reserve. The tandem student looks releived at this point, nods, and says... "OH, you cut away the CANOPY! The guy actually got in the airplane thinking the TM could just chop the student if there was a mal... I don't know about how much brains this guy has, but he must need a wheelbarrow to carry his balls. 15. Yep, but the site I was refering to actually had a map of them, that way I would be able to directly compare them to where I will be living. Thanks though. 16. I'm moving to Ontario in the very near future, and would like to check out a few of the dz's there... I used to be able to find a site with a map of all of them, but for some reason I can't seem to track it down anymore. If anyone knows of the site I'm refering to, or another with a map, I'd appreciate a link. Thanks. 17. I voted I know how to pack my own gear, I just don't know how to do it well, that's why I love you so much S.E.X. party #1 "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "f*#k, what a ride".
  18. I have just over 3 years in the sport, The set of gear I bought has integra risers on them, and no, I wasn't aware of the compatability issue. I've never switched them around or anything though... didn't really think about it. 21. well, the army made me start jumping. I thought it was kinda fun, and seeing as how the army sucks the fun out of everything, I figured civy jumping must be CRAZY. A friend of mine and I came out just about 3 years ago to do the FJC, and the rest as they say... oh yeah, I was right... civy jumping is WAY more fun... 7 military jumps, 252 and counting fun ones. 22. that's totally different... with pull out, you still place the pc in clean air when done properly. I think both systems are fine when operated properly... when you get complacent, or lazy, both systems can fail. We could sit here and debate one or the other for days and not agree on which one is better. I think with the pros and cons weighed for both of them, whichever decision the individual goes for, is the right one for them. Both work, both sometimes don't. The only difference really, is the deployment order, and the more likely mals you can have. I personally went with the pull out, just because I was following a lot of CRW loads, and wanted the faster deployment, as well as the less likely chance of a premature in freefall, and horseshoe. I can deal with a floating pud if it comes to that. That's just me though... different strokes for different folks. Educate, and make your own decision. and yeah, sorry about the length of this one... the first part was directed at your post, the rest was just me thinking out loud so to speak. [. I agree, but I don't think it was an accident... I think he was trying to make sure the shirt wasn't on fire... either way, funniest part of the whole thing, I thought. parable #4 would actually go really well with the chicagoland thread.... S.E.X. party #1 "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "f*#k, what a ride".
  25. exactly. I'd much rather, if need be, deploy a reserve with a little pud handle out in the breeze than into my pc... I'd more than likely try to contain the pc in the tow situation, but that eats up time too... I'd just rather go pud. I also have found that since having my rig converted, I get stood up in the harness faster too. The opening isn't harder, just faster snatch.
