  1. finally got the wife to jump at Elsinore today. I think she got tired of me talking about jumping all the time...and not being able to relate. Michelle.. YOU RAWK!!! anyway check out hese pics and message me/her to let her know this is something to pursue. (sp?? looks wrong) "GOT LEAD?"
  2. 300 pounders are taking over the sport!!! jumbo, cvfd1399, and me "GOT LEAD?"
  3. dude you rock...you are the man. "GOT LEAD?"
  4. instructors were (guessing) 170 and 200. i think the guy who was about 170 had weights but the other didnt. well the camera guy was a small guy and had weights but couldnt keep up with 137mph. hehehe so i got the video for free. "GOT LEAD?"
  5. i just started posting and appoligize for being rude and not saying hello first. im the 300lbs guy who asks lots of silly questions and what not. lol i figure what the hell and decided to post a pic or two of my first dive. ever seen an anvil pulled out of a plane? lol whats really funny is the outside instructor (jumpercozic) actually did have to PULL me out on my first AFF. lol "GOT LEAD?"
  6. im going back to gold coast next friday..actually leaving friday and jumping saturday and sunday. (oct 31st). as for canopie sizes...im not sure what will fit but these rigs come with 370 ft2 mains and reserves. they are identical canopies. f-111 and all that jazz. this rig is BIG..not quite tandem big, but gotta be close, they weigh like 45 lbs. and would imagine you could get tandem canopies in them. italked to the guys in perris and they said no on using these rigs but once i had him look them up on the internet he got really interested and said he would do some research. as far as elsinore Lob was less then....encouraging. but i think i can con the perris guys into it. it is all going bask to TSO ratings. the military rates these things at 360 lbs at 150 knots and 400lbs suspended.i imagine the 400lbs is for static line. all i can say is these things are big, ugly, and very durable. hhmmm wonder if i could dye the thing??? sure would help its looks...the only thing it has going for it is it has solid gray canopies and not cammo or worse olive drab..lol "GOT LEAD?"
  7. thanks guys i bought the rig. the owner said it had less than 25 jumps on it...and i called paraflight and they will reline both chutes for about $200/each. as far as the AAD goes..i will have to look into that some more. i know the rig i am using for AFF has a FXC. i'll have to find out if they had to make modifications to the rig to make that work. obviously i'd like to have a cypress but i will have to find out if they can modify the rig to make one work. 8. i appreciate the discusion...does anyone know where i could get my hands on a complete military rig that is ready to jump or atleast something that would meet the weight requirements? like i said i found a complete rig, minus a AAD but the canopies have the lines chopped. does anyone know if this is what the military does when they get rid of a rig? if it is i would imagine the canopies are are in decent shape and all that would be needed would be a reline on both canopies. hell if that would be all, i could get the setup (minus AAD) for around $800. then an add the cost of the AAd and i'd have a very inexpensive rig suited to my requirements. "GOT LEAD?"
  9. yea..i understand that staement, but i have also heard the military will retire equipment aftera certain amount of time regardless of usage. "GOT LEAD?"
  10. no it is not a round. these rigs come with identical chutes for both main and reserve...they are 370 ft2 canopies made by paraflight and i believe they are 7 cell "GOT LEAD?"
  11. question....i am new to the sport and looking to purchase a rig. i am 300lbs and have been jumping a MT-1XX military rig. because of my weighti will probably be better off puchasing the same thing i have been jumping to meet the weight requirements. i know of a rig for sale but it looks like the military cuts the lines on the canopies when they put them out of service. any idea what it would cost to get the canopies relined? is this the right term for replacing the lines? "GOT LEAD?"
  12. this is awesome!! glad to hear you got to jump. i messaged you a few times to let you know where you could jump but looks like you found on eon your own!!! awesome!!!! where did you jump? "GOT LEAD?"

  14. i only have 3 jumps...but i will say the 3rd jump was by far the worst. All went great but...you ask yourself why your doing it. All i can say is....well...i was not having any kind of fun whatsoever. But i havent given up and will hope to complete AFF on nov 1st and 2nd. (hope this starts getting fun pretty soon.) Are my feeling normal or am i just "odd". "GOT LEAD?"

  18. there are a bunch of casinos around here....but if you want the closest one (i think) it would be pechanga here in temecula. if that one doesnt work for message me and i'll get you the names of more or do some leg work for ya. "GOT LEAD?"
  19. who are you looking for? really tall? hell no, not me. shit im only 6'2" but am 300lbs....soooo look for the guy who looks out of place weight wise. lol "GOT LEAD?"
  20. what is the difference and advantage/disadvantage of a fxc instead of a cypress? i was jumping a rig with a fxc and it didnt look too "up to date". "GOT LEAD?"
  21. i'll look you up this saturday...but be on the look out for me too...i've noticed that alot of people in Elsinore aren't the friendliest to me for some reason. laters ac "GOT LEAD?"
  22. well i wished i could have finished AFF there but injuries kicked me in the butt. i have to talk to Perris, Elsinore and see if they will let me complete AFF out here if i can get the guys in Moss Point to let me rent the rig from them. sounds like they only use it once or twice a year so....i would figure they would. if not, i'll have to plan another trip to the south. BTW everyone down there were kick ass and i will definately be heading back regardless. I head up to Elsinore all the time to watch, so if you see a huge guy walking around come up and say hi. I'll jump with ya...if ya can keep up. LOL 137mph during my first AFF and the camera guy didnt do so good hanging with me. lol "GOT LEAD?"
  23. Scares the holy S$%t out of me.....but for some reason need to do it again already. :-) This is how it went...first jump passed, 2nd jump went better than the 1st..passed, 3rd jump from 15,000 (got a little more air time :-) crashed on landing (in the trees) and screwed up both knees and one ankle... still passed. no worries though, feeling better already and can walk today. by the way got all of these AFF jumps done in one day. now im asking myself why i want to scare the crap out of myself again...believe me it SCARES me. "GOT LEAD?"
  24. i will have to see..but ive spent a butt load of money on the trip in whole and "need" to get as much accomplished as possible or i will definately break the bank "GOT LEAD?"
  25. that makes sense...but my plans are to get thru AFF and do my RW jump all in the 3 days i'm at the DZ. They are really cool and are coming in tomorrow night to put me thru ground school so we can jump first thing saturday morning. they also will have a pilot on stand by so we can jump when the DZ is closed in case i dont get all my jumps completed. they are some awesome guys in moss point. they obviouly want me to suceed and are willing to make these kinds of arrangements to make it happen.
