  1. Firstly I'm sorry it didn't work out for you mate. Go get yer own back with some groupies I do agree with what a few people said, if you were perfect together skydiving wouldnt have been a problem - if it hadn't got in the way something else might have eventually. I had a boyf for about 1 1/2 yrs who had no interest in skydiving. It sucked only having 2 whole free days a week to choose between him, other friends, skydiving, and anything else.. take into account that HE might actually have plans too and that leaves very few weekends together. Dr. Kat sees the problem here: it isn't skydiving or not, it's having a job!!
  2. Yes, just a few weeks ago. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=1029701;page=3;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25;
  3. Yeah I'm up for all of that! thanks for the replies, will think more on Monday... but right now it's Friday so a DZ is calling... Kat x
  4. I'm thinking of making a little tour round europe in a few weeks, because I'm an unemployed gyppo so I can! I'm thinking several one-way Ryanair tickets, stopping at a few dropzones of course
  5. June 21-27, Voss, Norway Sounds like fun, hopefully I'm gonna make it over there! Anyone going from UK or Germany? (Ryanair!
  6. Hiya, Can anyone recommend a DZ in Italy which is open all week at the moment? (Or has a boogie on in the next couple of weeks?) Thanks a lot! Kat
  7. It was really nice to meet you Headcorn people this weekend. I said to a couple of ya, Ethen loved u guys from when we first met he was always on at me to come down there & meet these cool people. made it in the end Ethen. Kat x
  8. So I finally get round to it... Kat x I met Ethen in Dubai, when I went to jump at Umm Al Quwain. He was out there working in Abu Dhabi for a few months. 'Working' was perhaps not the right word - Ethen was the master of blagging, changing flights, abusing a company credit card, filling a 5-star hotel room with homeless skydivers and then being praised for it! Respect. That T-shirt "Work sucks, let's go skydiving" was made for him.
  9. I was wondering why B-licence was chosen as the level for not requiring an AAD? Just a given number of jumps I can understand, but B-licence = 50 jumps + IC1 right? What part of IC1 (landing accuracy, knowing how to spot etc) makes you less likely to need an AAD? Just curious. Well I'm gonna have to get that IC1 before my old cypres expires..
  10. yes Awesome place definitely go there if u can. Search for 'Umm Al Quwain'.. should be a couple of posts about it.. I haven't been for the boogie, but went there a few times in Dec / Jan. Jump tickets were 80 dhs each to 12k, the packing area is not only air-conditioned but carpeted & hoovered too Friendly people & awesome view - desert on one side, sea on the other. If you're not going in a group though get in touch with them & see what's happening; when I was there unless there was a big group visiting people were only jumping on weekends (Thu & Fri) and even Thu was very quiet. We could take the little cessna (182?) up with 4 of us to 10k. But I believe if you ask the manager Tallies you should be able to jump any day with enough people? Took us just under an hour from Dubai city, maybe I was being driven around by nutters! good luck finding arabic culture in Dubai
  11. ok so I'm not sure it's exactly the picture he'd want to be remembered by... but I know he'd do the same.. I got quite a few pics from UAQ, said I'd bring 'em on a CD for Tilly this weekend so if anyone else would like a copy let me know. Kat x
  12. Where do you start to write about someone like Ethen. So much to miss. Will post more later, but just wanted to say I'll be driving down for the funeral from North Wales, probably on Friday to Headcorn for the weekend first. So if anyone would like a lift along the way please feel free to get in touch, even if it's out of the way I could do with the company! blues, Kat [email protected]

    Pick Up Lines

    Last week a guy came over to me in a club and actually said, "Do you come here often? I haven't seen you around before.." People do say that in real life?!? Well it didn't work.. Once a guy handed me a 10p in the street and said, "Here's 10p, go call your mum tell her you're not coming home tonight!" Surprisingly, that didn't work either... I don't really have any lines that 'worked', I'm too shy to chat anyone up! But when I was at school I did once tell a stranger I liked his t-shirt and we ended up going out for about 6 months.
  17. yep, james Bond for da kidz Loved it! Sure it was cheesy but had Vin Diesel and parachutes, what more does a girl need from a film?! oh & wasn't that Rammstein? 10/10
  18. oh man I have waaay too many favourite bands... I love all my music & wouldn't know where to start.. NOFX, Beastie Boys, Rob Zombie, Rolling stones, ACDC, Buckcherry, Snot, Hed P.E., Sublime, 25 Ta Life - that's what's in my bag today! Now I need something LOUDER!! I think a *real* rock n roll band gotta be wicked live - some favourite gigs were Guns n Roses, Beck, Backyard Babies, Agnostic Front, Leech Woman!
