  1. I am just wondering why? Sorry if my question offends anyone. I just have read a few stories here of people doing it, but not really why, just that it happened. Also there is a girl at our DZ who has b/c she went into a flat spin on level 3, even though she recovered & pulled herself and did a great job, she has pretty much stayed on the ground ( 1 or 2 tandems since I think). I am also a student, desperatly dying to make another level, I am still shocked that I even agreed to do a tandem after 6 months of my husband urging me to do it. (now I'm totally hooked!) I am (was, pre skydiving)a very shy & reserved person, now I am totally opposite. I am looking for education I guess, I am like a sponge wanting to soak in anything I can about skydiving. Other things in life have taught me to always ask questions & to learn from other peoples expierences. So if anyone cares to enkighten me, I would love to hear it.
  2. 2 thumbs up here...I think you're nice looking. It is such ashame that freaks have to ruin our chat area for us! We had a simialr incident on the mommy board I post on. This girl begun posting with us in the first weeks of her "pregnancy" kept along with eventually posting pictures of the baby ya ya ya and right before the one year birthdays began to come around we find out that this person was hoax, no baby, no fiance in med school, nothing....why go to that extrme to lie? It really freaked us out, especially since she kept at for so long, and we were all fooled. Honesty has always been one of my biggest priorities in life and that just really freaked me out! There are some strange people out there, it ashame, it would be nice if we could first trust and then not trust if need be, but now in order to be safe one must not trust at first and the trust be earned...

I PM's you, there might be a way I can get one... I have two now, but three is always a charm...
  4. Thaks so much for the support. I have never wanted something so badly. I will not give up, but in the mean time...if ya'll don't mind listening to me, there may be alot of whining! It doesn't help that my husband works at our dz, and rubs it in that he can "fun jump" We have an extremely good marriage (knock on wood) and we are very playful, we like to pick on each other all of the time, & he knows rubbing in the fun jumps really gets to me...but I get my revenge this weekend, he has been hired by one of the members of Team Fastrax for the weekend and as long as they are training he is stuck on the packing mat!!!!!
  5. I know this will seem silly to some of ya'll, but I was just curious about how ya'll felt about skydiving. For me, It totally changed my life, it gave me a new found courage and self-esteem, and introduced me into a world like no other. I never knew that such a wondeful "extended family" existed. I have expierenced alot of sports in my near 30 years. I grew up on the rodeo circuit, barrel racing. My husband & I have been into rapelling, scuba diving, sport bikes & mountain bikes. I didn't have an immediate love for any of them but barrel racing, but I am still a natural born horse person. So anyhow, I am just curious to see if any one out there feels as strongly or more about skydiving!
  6. Geez, at this rate, I might be done with AFF next year. I swear, getting everything to work out at once is amazing! Yesterday, I had a baby-sitter, had money for at least 3 levels, go to the DZ and students are grounded b/c of low clouds! Team Fastrax was out there practicing though, so I laid in the grass for a long time watching them turn points & what not. It was real cool to watch. ugh...thanks for listening to me whine...
  7. Congrats on the new one to be...our last just turned one, this past year has flown by. Hold on to these precious baby days as long as you can. My feet about fell off the last time, my goodness I have never in my life walked so much! Congrats to you & Mrs/ Rhino again, can't wait to see the new baby pic!
  8. Maybe tomorrow, this midwest weather sucks!!!!! Is it ever gonna be summer here? Skydivingweather.com says it should be in the low 70's tomorrow w/ minimal cliuds, lets just hope they are right! I am jonesing so bad, I awear skydiving is not a sport, but a drug....
  9. Pretty sure that he is talking about a different Carrie Talking about Red Head Scary Carrie...She left our DZ to jump at Xenia...Looking for new flesh..hehe
  10. Maybe more, ya'll cross your fingers for me! The weather here has been real crappy, its supossed to clear up tomorrow but only have a high of 64! This is the first week of JUNE!?!? This weather stinks, oh I wish I was still in Florida!
  11. AWW how cute, there are some still here in Indiana as well with their babies, they are so cute!
  12. Pretty sure that he is talking about a different Carrie. He's talking about the carrie that is a stripper in ohio and frequents skydive greenecounty in Xenia
  13. Well I lost my DZ virginity in the caravan last Saturday night, with my husband of course...my story isn't nearly as interesting as some posted in this thread, but I thought I'd add it just for shits & giggles. However, there was a buzz about the DZ the next day about the caravan rocking at 1AM, my hubby failed to tell me it is under 24 hour video surveillance and no shit there we were....
  14. I think piercings are sexy on guys & girls. I wouldn't mind getting it done, but I have zero pain tolerence. So that will probably stop me. Getting my ears peirced was pretty traumatic. As far as I know there is 1 guy & 1 girl at our dz that has their tongues pierced & we live in redneck hillbilly inbred greensburg, IN. The guy plays with his piercing all of the time, & I find it as a major turn on. The girl you wouldn't know she had one, if you didn't play cloase attention to her when she was talking. On another note though, I really want to get my belly button pierced. As soon as I get my abs were I want them, I will, pain or not. I have had three kids pretty much back to back, I am at 115 lbs, but my stomach still isn't where I want it to be.
  15. At our dz, which is mid-sized and very much "or family" we have jumpers with their coach rating, while they are not AFF instructors, they are real good for people on the "in-between" such as yourself. My husband is a coach & loves helping out people. Also, you can pay the coach to actually go on jumps with you and help you out with different tecniques in the air. And it is not near as expensive as hiring an instructor.
  16. I made my level two today, first time I was still a space cadet, didn't get much done, but I stood the landing! My main JM wanted me to repeat level 2, so I did. My second level two was AWESOME
  17. Troy Lee has a wide variety of cool decals, but none for skydiving. MAybe it is something we can look into doing. We already screen print shirts for skydivers and have a ton of great designs (tooting my own horn, while I pat my own back )Thanks for all of the input!
  18. do any of ya'll know where you can get decal kits for skydiving helmets? Thanks for any info...
  19. that would be awesome if it could be confirmed. I always liked that show...
  20. Glad the outcome was good, is it known what caused the crash? At least it appears that the person who owns the land where you had to recover it from is alot nicer than some of the farmers here in Indiana. There is this one that we have dubbed "farmer mcnasty" because he likes to pull his gun on us skydivers. I expierenced it first hand when I went with my husband to recover a main "that damaged his property" when it landed by his pond. He has even drove to the dz and pulled a gun on one of our TM's b/c he landed in his "unplanted" feild with a student and caused "unrepairable damage" Yeah this guy is a real asshole... ANyway, glad no one was hurt...Can ya'll fix it? I am plane ignorant, so pardon if it was a dumb question.
  21. I really don't know if any of ya'll will see the humor in this since I don't have the pic scanned in so you can seeit, but when my husband & I were in NYC for our honeymoon, right in upper Manhatten on the busiest main drag there was a sign posted, NO HONKING $500.00 fine. We just though it was kind of ironic being in downtwon NYC & all.
  22. where did you get her email at? Just curious...
  23. speaking on my husbands behalf (he's been jumping much longer than me) We just moved to Indiana from Florida and Seb is a great DZ. Another you may want to look into is the Florida Skydive Center in Lake Wales. My husband went through AFF there and had a great expierence. Good Luck & keep us updated on your progress.
  24. I would just keep an eye on the situation in Israel. It would defintily be an awesome thing to do. I was supposed to go to Jordan with my church a in 2001, the triip was canceled after 9/11. I was really excited about going. If you go, just keep your wits about you and stay where you know its safe. Personally, imho I wouldn't let fear restrain me.
  25. geez, are you bored????
