The USPA president suggested Loyds of London...... they won't touch it. *** I don't know exactly what the Insurance policy has to cover, however they cannot require you to provide insurance outside of what the require everyone else to do. I had a similar problem when I opened my DZ and the answer for me was simple. I had to provide to the county a $1,000,000.00 policy that was termed a "slip and fall" policy. It excluded anything that had to do with the skydiving portion of the business. Once you put on your rig, you were not covered. The waiver made it very plain and the county was happy with the policy. I will try to find the company and agents name, but the policy itself was very reasonable. It also covered everything that had to be covered. For what it's worth...you will be an FBO on the airport and I am sure that is ALL that has to be insured.

I don't know if this applies, but in '98 there were 2 fugitives from justice that got into a gun battle with the cops not far from my house. It ended up with them breaking into my house, (Thank God my wife and daughters had just left and were on the way to the DZ to bring me lunch) and before it was all over both of them were dead from self inflicted gunshot wounds...in my house...surrounded by cops to include SWAT, a couple of choppers, TV crews, newspapers, the whole mess. A very long story, but not a pretty one, including the fact that we lived out of a motel room for over a month until our home was repaired, everything at our own expense. To quote the sheriffs office, "You were neither the victim of nor a witness to a crime, contact your insurance agent". Again, I thank God that my wife and kids had just left 20 minutes prior to bring me lunch. You know it's gonna be a bad day when on the front page of the morning paper is a full color picture of your house and they are removing bodies...

Hey Jeff, Back "in the day" I saw a number of flag jumps where the flag was actually attached to a "D" line and packed inside the container. I also saw a couple of cut-aways because of it. It was done by routing that one line outside of the slider, had to do a hop and pop because the container looked like it had 2 canopies packed in it. Really strange stuff... PM me and I will tell you who it was and if you like you can call him and ask him about the 50% working rate. We actually laughed about it working 50% of the time and the last practice jump before the demo needed to be a cut-away so it would work for the demo. Not to make light of the Dallas accident, just to say way back, flags were hooked up all kinds of different ways. If I were to date those jumps, I would guess we did them around '79 or '80.
