hey all you gear heads! i just won an auction on ebay. its an older mirage. not sure what but its not g4 or g3. no articulation. it and the main supposedly have 600 jumps. main is crossfire 109 (s#96613118) reserve raven-m 109 ,0 jumps(s#51834694). i will pay $1300 for it all. turns out that both the main and reserve were recalled because of various manufacturing errors. are these probs too late to fix. icarus said the crossfire needed to be sent back by 2001 or it would be grounded. is this too much of a pain in the ass to buy or is it a good deal with easily fixible problems? the reason i'm posting here is i have not heard back from manufacturers and i've called and sent e-mails. any advice is appreciated ------------------------------------------------ 'I refuse to tiptoe quitely through life only to arrive safely at death' Anon

I’m really bad when it comes to technology. I’m wondering how to take my footage from my pc-7 and get it to my laptop. I don’t think it has a firewire port. Only usb and a yellow video out. Do I need to buy firewire software to install in my computer???? I have editing software. i need sunshine! i want to pack up and head to southern california or arizona until summer. what do you all think is the best dropzone in the southwest for living in a tent at. just wondering if anyone can offer advice about camping and jumping at Eloy, Perris, Elsinore, ect... which one has a grocery store thats close, showers, good camping area and friendly atmosphere? i've never jumped outside the northwest or at a large dropzone before so i don't know what to expect.

yup.yup.yup. and yes. i'm very proficient with all of that. i've used my front risers on my last 50 jumps. always hit the target. and always touch down smoothly

i agree. buy somthing you can grow into. just make conservative landings until you get a feel for it. people are so uptight about wing loading when the important issue is the pilot's head not his weight. i purchased my first system used and it had a sabre 120 in it. at first i wanted to trade it for somthing larger but decided to go ahead and be really careful. i weigh 165-170 w/o gear. i jumped my sabre on jump# 28. i now have 120 jumps on it, 99% stand up on target. just be conservative and aware of the danger

religion = false sense of security for insecure people. its simple. people like to know why we exist, who created us, how we should live life, and what will happen after death. religion gives them these answers so they don't feel scared about their lifes and can paa judgment on others. this is a pretty broad generalization of course.

I'm not looking hard.
