  1. My 9 year old son has to do a research project for school and he chose to do one on skydiving. Does anyone know of a kid friendly web site that has some good information about skydiving/parachuting? I could tell him what I know, which isn't a whole lot, but I would rather him take a shot at exploring the information on his own for a bit to see what aspects of the sport, if any, interest him. Also, he would have something besides me to cite. Thanks for any help
  2. Get in the sack and throw the stones to her
  3. There was definitely pressure. Unbearable pressure! I could only get relief with a proposal, so that’s what I did. Best call my penis ever made.
  4. The point is, ladies and gentleman, that speculation -- for lack of a better word -- is good. Speculation is right. Speculation works. Speculation clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Speculation, in all of its forms -- speculation for life, for money, for love, knowledge -- has marked the upward surge of mankind. And speculation -- you mark my words -- will not only save dz.com, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Thank you Mr. Gekko
  5. Especially when their work is at the DZ. Videographers that throw rigs out of "their" packing area, or kick peoples' line while packing, rather than just asking people to move, are the worst. Sorry. I know you’re probably having a bad day, but I still can’t get over how rude some people can be. Stays with me for days
  6. When I rode my Ninja, I never got a wave back from a Harley rider. Now that I ride a Honda 919, I get wave backs from Harley riders all the time. I think those duds are fooled by the 919’s upright riding position and round headlight. They probably think it’s a Buell or something else you can get at a Harley dealership. But. when they go by and see I’m on jap crap, their waves fade into a leg scratches. Stuck up is what they are. There’s a generalization for ya’!
  7. "one" refers to a batch, so it's his
  8. Easy. The OP said his point was “look and ask around before you pay."
  9. If you think Jumping jacks are funny, try these
  10. Roseanne Barr in She Devil. That mole was creepy
  11. Don't worry. Get yourself a job in a big law firm. Then all you'll be able to think about is throwing yourself out of an airplane.
  12. Yes, that was well said. I think the "knowledge bucket" metaphor comes from Brian Germain's safety article called "The Long haul." It's worth reading too. I would do a link to it if I knew how.
  13. I did the first few AFF jumps at three different dzs until I settled on one. The lesson I learned is that there are lots of different types of student gear out there. Of the three dzs I visited, some used ripcords, some BOC throw outs, and some had SOS emergency handles. Jumping all kinds of different gear, I believe, has been known to hurt people. So, if they are using different student gear from what you're used to, that's something to think about.
