  1. I am not creating any conspiracy, I am merely discussing the situation as advised to us consumers, I am a DZO and CI and have a person with a grounded rig ATM. Aviacom made the allegations, and I wish to discuss them. If you read my reply, I was replying to that fact that somebody eleses comments have been deleted time and time again and they should not have been so. Furthermore I would like you to point out which forum rule has been broken. I am not the only one with this train of thought, there is a poll in the SC about it,Check out the results. It is also being discussed around the world at many, many dropzones. And the swift banning and the feet dragging on reversing the bans based on that fact that a foreign object was found in the unit is not being ignored by us consumers either. The Cypres safety bulletin in 2008 lied about the outcome of thier faulty product and that was ignored and swept under the carpet while many people lives had been knowingly jeopardised, it is also known that they knew they were lying. If airtec are allowed to lie in a safety bullitin and that is no big deal, then hey... I am just a paranoid conspiracy theorist. This whole debarcle is an elephant in the room and I wish to discuss it. If I am not allowed to discuss this subject freely then the very reason for this forums existance is moot and therefore you can ban me if you wish. 2. yep shes a squeaky clean world we live in and money does not afffect our decision making and everyone always acts with the utmost integrety.. Try reading what I replied to... oops you can't, it was deleted.... Again. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
  3. That movie will increase the whole skydiving industry immensly. I cannot wait to see it. It will be ooozing with cheese... "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
  4. Misery is another thing many will have to get used to... "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
  5. at the rate the US dollar is currently declining you will only get one Yuan for every US Dollar in about 3 months.... I'd get used to 'not' being number one anymore if I were you. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
  6. Oh but we never never favour our major advertisers and we never delete posts that we deem damaging to our revenue stream......... Never. cough cough. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
  7. blah blah blah... bullshit. they were contacted directly by the person that was injured by email and they refused to reply, they did not have the professionalism to address the concerns of the injured. So they lied to you dierctly also. I will not beleive any safety bulletin from them again, though I will be forced to adhere to them. That bulliten was issued after they investigated the faulty unit and after they were contacted by the injured party. It is also highly probable yet undisclosed that that airtec actually knew before the incident that the sensors were potentially faulty. All manufacturers use the sensors and Aviacom at least were contacted about the faulty batch by the manufacturer before the cypres incident it seems, and that is reiterated in the following statement from Aviacom to the PIA; are you gong to accept that? and yeah I have a gripe, and so should you and everybody else! 8. Lets talk in this thread about why this rig was withheld from the manufacturer, why the ban on argus was so prompt and well organised, and why other manufacturers did not recieve the same attention/punishment when their units were failing as a direct result of faulty components. There has been serious allegations by Aviacom and with the discovery of a foreign object in the cutter renders the PIA service bulliten incorrect, abrupt and damging to the industry.. We could jam a piece of metal in a cypres cutter too, would all cypres' be grounded. I suspect as aviacom do, something more sinister than a simple misunderstanding, that rig was withheld from aviacom for a reason and meanwhile aviacom have received the most damaging blow any manufacturer can receive. Why is the attention always away from evident corruption and on semantics and moot points... The removal of all argii would have created a very large gap in an expensive market... If there is something sinister about this ordeal, lets not just let them get away with it! If there is info lets find out, the PIA is formed of companies that agree with one another or at least work together. If it is anything whatsoever like the NZPIA then anti competitive behaviour is not only in their interests, but it is their forte and reason for existence. I don’t want to accuse the PIA they may well have been acting in our best interests, but I do want to suspect them based on what we know, I can imagine the feet will be dragging when it comes to removing the bulletin, yet it was carried out and introduced very swiftly. According to what we have been told the entity that withheld the evidence is in cahoots with the PIA and the PIA made the announcement. Can anybody clarify this? 9. Saying you have had it too easy for too long is not US bashing, that may be how you see it but it is not. It is just how it is. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
  10. the word 'like' was there, i thought of lead shot too when i read that. any small bearing could be transferred onto the packing mat from someones shoe or any of a number of possibilities, but that is moot. The fact is that there was a metal foreign object in the cutter and that is possible with all cutters from all manufacturers. 12. I say bullshit, Airtec blatantly lied in their report of multipule cypres units firing when they sould not have, they swept it under the carpet and ignored the injured, while that injured (my friend) was out of work, out of $$ and in pain, they ignored him and lied. The preferred to lie and ignore him to try to make their products seem better to those that were interested. Aviacom have said their thoughts, whether you like what they say or not, it seems as though they have told the truth. Balance the playing field here guys... Anyway I don't want to take over the thread but I am stoked there is a resolve for this... ...now lets see it happen. 13. Good on you Karel. There is alot of anti competative behaviour these days and we grow accustom to it, but these allegations are quite serious and I have witnessed first hand the type of cover up you are talking about with the 'other manufacturers'. I have a jumper at my DZ that has an Argus that has been removed, he is gutted, along with you and every other argus owner. I suspect you and all the argus owners are owed a sincere, not a half assed apology. Those that witheld the effected unit from your company for immediate inspection if affiliated with your competitors should be investigated and held accountable for your losses if it is found there was no valid reasong to withhold that from you, The reinstatement of argus units should happen as quick as they were removed... like instantly. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
  14. They said that they wished to investigate, and that the evidence was being witheld from them. They we subsequnetly banned from a series of major rig manufactureres and parachute associations all based on the result an anomaly that was no fault of the unit itself, what ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Plenty of knee jerking going on though... How do you suppose they did wrong, they were as in the dark about it as any of us until any sort of open investigation. 15. So all this Argus bashing for nothing... When's that list going to be ammended do you think? "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
  16. In some type of selfish utopia that might be possible, or if you work for ma and do not have to pay for any jumps. But in all seriousness if skydivers want to remain sport jumping, they will have to pull their weight. I have seen a a few tandem factories where sport jumpers are shunned, there are more tandem customers that can be done in the daylight hours paying $3-400 each and the fun jumoer only brings in $40 or so... Do the maths, personally I cannot see how some dz's manage to continue to operate, a twin otter with 2 pt6-27's with 20 people paying $20. that is only $400 to take a multi million dollar aircraft up and pay the sevicing the fuel and make a profit... I cannot see how that is possible but the economics here in NZ are somewhat different with commodities being much more expensive. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
  17. No, count your lucky stars you are not paying more than $30 or up to $50. Airplanes are not cheap, they are very expensive and only getting more expensive. It is not just the fuel that is going up in price. If you were paying US$7 a gallon to fill your car and US$35 for a jump then you might be on par with much of the rest of the world. I think it is just a case of america having it too easy for too long "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
  18. hop n pop! How about the new gopro 3d casing that takes 2 cameras... One is upside down but the photos can be flipped... http://gopro.com/hd-hero-accessories/3d-hero-system/ very interesting times ahead... "would you like video and stills or a 2d and a 3d video...." Now only if they could make a firmwire update on that setup to allow the one start button to begin 2d video on the upright camera and stills only on the inverted camera.... 20. It is the NZCAA, and I did call them 6 months ago when I was purchasing the system, and unfortunately in this age of accountability and litigation nobody was willing to give me a definitive answer of what we required, I called the CAA twice and they told me to contact an engineer and ensure the engineer was happy, the engineers did not know but could install a perminent system for $15,000, I called an aircraft manufacturer (PAC) and everybody wanted to help but could not give me a definitive answer on the requirements of a portable system. It turns out if we use a portable system, it is secure and we do not screw, rivit or alter the airframe in anyway while abiding by our part 149 regulations, then we are fine. That is covered, I am simply wishing to tidy up the system, it works well but it just looks a bit scruffy in the airplane, and there is a possiblity of a snag hazard. I do have a good idea of what I am going to do and have ordered the parts. I will post better photos of our current system and I will also post photos of the new setup once I have finished... 22. Shit looks pretty fancy, I think that would be a little of an overkill for operations to FL185. How much does one pay fpr such a setup though...? "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
  23. I am using what mountain high oxygen supply me only, I am sure they would not be selling these components if they were not suitable? "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
  24. We have been using our oxygen system for 3 months, I was sent a bunch of components from mountain high and assembeled them as best I could think of at the time. We have to avoid screwing or riviting as our plane/s are part 135 and that is a mod. So I have adhered an aluminium T extrusion on the window sill and mounted the components on that. I have ordered some more components and hose so I can tidy it all up and some magnets to clip the hoses and masks to after use via some steel adhered to the hose connection. I don't have a good photo here but you can kinda see it in the photo on this page; http://www.facebook.com/pieces/posts/10150551552220304#!/photo.php?fbid=491171536602&set=t.100001357592431&theater I'll post a better photo later. I am interested to see anybody elses set up... I am basically starting again routing the ports to where I want them and have a fair idea of what I want to do to make it safer and tidier,ut would like to get some inspiration from others.. any clever cookies out there with a smart looking setup. 25. The plane would have to be flying in a diagonal configuration/ crabbing to keep that run in straight? they can be difficult to get right those ones. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
