Man aren't we touchy today? I may be fucking deaf, but I ain't fucking blind. I'm very well aware of my surroundings thank you very much. There's something to be said about compensating for the loss of one sense with another. You are part of the problem. -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. What truly boring lives they must lead.

What were you doing in the left lane if there was no traffic around? Asshole. I was going 80... The left lane is the appropriate lane if I'm gonna go fast. If somebody's going faster than me, I'll move over before they get on my bumper. Yeah, I can be an asshole sometimes, but I only become one if someone else does something I don't like. -- And if you don't look up in time to see me running your slow ass over????? Asshole. I don't care how fast you're going. If you're not passing, move the fuck over. Man, I loved driving in Germany. -- -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. What truly boring lives they must lead.

Which injury is worse? Broken bone or Broken joint?
bluheelrtx replied to autoset's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've broken several bones and sometimes they ache, but don't really interfere with any activities. I made a mess of the ligaments in my ankle about seven years ago and it never doesn't hurt. If I let it get stiff, it's not so bad, but if I stretch it out or run out a bunch of landings, it burns and catches like a MF. -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. I think that my bird hit record for a 12 hour period is well over 2 or 3 dozen. It was a late night blasting through southwestern New Mexico and they hadn't mowed the shoulders at all. It seemed like every few minutes a bird or 2 would fly out of the grass and right into the path of the car (rental). After the first 10 or 15, I stopped feeling guilty or keeping count. -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. What truly boring lives they must lead.

Edited for accuracy. We've got a court system if your outlandish scenario was true... Are you referring to the media? -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. What truly boring lives they must lead. -

I usually just run over 'em with the mower - not on purpose, but it happens. The fire ants usually eat 'em. -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. What truly boring lives they must lead.

93 Ford Ranger 4.0L V6 w/ 5 speed - 225,000 Miles and counting. The engine has never been opened. I trashed the clutch at 70K (under warranty) and the tranny at 200k (paid through the nose). Otherwise, not a single mechanical glitch outside regular wear. It could use all new bushings in the front end and some new seals, but otherwise fine. Still starts with just a bump of the key. The current primary vehicle is an 04 Mazda3 with 93K. I just hope it holds out as well as the truck. I have always thoroughly abused them both. -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. Anyone know of any tech writing jobs in the Austin, TX area?
bluheelrtx replied to waltappel's topic in The Bonfire
I can agree with the critters part. Maybe that's because I live at the very (current) edge of the sprawl. I have a few acres not far from Skydive Houston and enjoy the reptile, rodent, insect, and avian variety of the area. But the sprawl is quickly taking over. The rest of houston sucks. -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. What truly boring lives they must lead. -

Houston is a lousy place to live. A great place to eat and skydive, but a lousy place to live. Austin is getting less wierd and more crowded all the time. Sad, really. -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. What truly boring lives they must lead. -

Some people are afraid of heights. Not me, I'm afraid of widths. I named my dog Stay. It was a lot of fun when he was younger. Here, Stay. Here, Stay. He's a lot smarter now. Now he just ignores me and keeps on typing. The other day I took my dog for a walk around the building . . . on the ledge. -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. Would someone please build something in College Station!
bluheelrtx replied to Slappie's topic in The Bonfire
Fuck sprawl. The only reaon this is happening is cheap Texas real estate. Texas is for sale. Just don't ask the state government to fund the state parks with this surplus. -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. What truly boring lives they must lead. -
Swoopers vs. Non-Swoopers in the Pattern
bluheelrtx replied to kkeenan's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
You don't have to be a swooper to find this behavior dangerous and annoying at 4-500 feet in the middle of the landing pattern. Even after aborting a swoop, I have had to fly hundreds of feet away from these people (while dealing with all the other traffic that stacks up behind them), just because I couldn't figure out where the hell they were going. Unless you think you're going to hit something if you go long, don't S-turn in the pattern on final. The main landing area at my home DZ is long and skinny, with trees on one side and the runway on the other. When people start S-turning across the landing pattern, it screws everyone (sometimes even the plane), not just the swoopers. I do remember what it was like to need those S-turns to make the landing area. I also remember avoiding the main landing area like the plague until I was more comfortable with my accuracy. -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. What truly boring lives they must lead. -
Yes, but it's a subtle difference. I guess that's MORE of an a$$hole. -- Jason -- Some people never go crazy. What truly boring lives they must lead.
