    Nitro

Flying high wingloads, landing on a small place or doing a nice and fast swoop. No Problem for a Nitro. Thanks Klaus Schenk :-)
  2. Hi Christian, many thanks for this competition. The Organisation was excellent (Competition, Prices, Food, Beer, etc.). I really enjoyed how everybody was fighting and laughed a lot. Thanks to everybody who helped making this happen. Cheers, Pascal P.S. Does anybody recorded the WDR-News on Saturday-Evening on TV?
  3. Hi Tracie, I'm so sorry to hear that. Why does the good guys have to go the hard way? I wish you, your daughter and your family all the best, a man can wish. Be strong, like Beezy was. Pascal Lavielle
  4. Nitro 120, perfect. Only 1 Reserve!
  5. At the time the Blade came out (middle of 2001) most people were thinking: well, it's just a modified Nitro. But you got it! Our low profile and the position of Nose/Leading Edge was unique and sometimes the test jumps scared the shit out of us (especially when the 58 ft² was landed the first time). But all worked like it should or even better. We also experimentated with a Blade 20cell, to see the advantages. Unfortunately we stopped 2years ago all developments, because of personal reasons and some of us got jobs, were we even earn money. At the moment Beezy Shaw (HiPer USA) is doing all the neccessary stuff but we will support him in developing new canopies. BTW: in 1997 Klaus Schenk (who unfortunately died in 2001) introduced the HMA-line. At this time everybody told him he will kill skydivers. Now look which companies are using exactly this line (our black Technora looks cooler anyway)
  6. Condolences from the Urban Base Squad. We met him many times and he always kicked my ass in Wingsuit-flying.
  7. I like this 2 pics most: http://www.bernhardschwab.de/skyhigh/lauterbrunnen_2004/bilder/DSC02643.jpg http://www.skyger.de/modules.php?op=modload&name=MediaGalerie&file=index&do=showpic&pid=1744&orderby=dateD

    Norway?

If you like beer, you need a lot of money!!
  9. I have been at the mentioned Nose Exit and couldn't believe my eyes. Some other paths and exits have been rebuilt also. I talked to some locals and they were really angry. Please don't forget: you are a guest, so behave like one. Pascal (a guest from Germany)

    Swiss Valley?

Are any guys jumping around in the famous swiss valley this weekend (Sat. + Sun.)?

    Line Twists

After my buddy had a cliff strike I asked some experienced guys what they would do in case your canopy is flying towards and you are facing away the wall (and have not much time). One guy told me he would grab both (back and front) risers and pull them down. If the canopy is turning further then you want to, he would pull the opposite side to stop rotation. I want to try that someday out of the plane to see if it works, but it sounds not too bad.
  12. See: http://www.villa.ch/live.html This webcam is not far away and almost on the same height like the Exitpoints. As you can see: much snow. Put on good shoes and be careful.

    Switzerland

I was on La Mousse on Sat., 16th October and there was snow already (not that much that I had to shit my pants). On Sunday the snow was almost gone. We had a few warm days but it shall get colder from now on (I live 2 hours away from Lauterbrunnen). So I stopped it for this year.
  14. Very nice video. How is the hike to Kjerag (I've never been to Norway)?
  15. I'm working on it (getting over the river). The river is a psychological thing to me. I don't know why. I met a cool Dude (Andy, American) who flew almost to the other site of the valley. He uses a Skyflyer and I was really impressed about the forward speed.
  16. ***A friend of mine made a number of jumps on a Nitro 58. His exit weight is about 171 lbs. That's right. You surely mean Tobi. Attached a picture of the Blade 58. Pascal
  17. *** Hi Dave, at the moment the black Technora is standart and not available in white, because the color comes not from a coloration, it's the color of the coating.
  18. Possibly Technora??? Yes that's right. TCNL stands for Technora Competition Night Line. A German Line Manufacurer made us this suspension line which is very thin but still amazingly strong. We have a 160 kg (1mm) and a 200 kg (1.3mm) line. Both totally black. The black color is not a pigment, it is the protection coating which comes in the raw Aramid material. Shrinkage and stretching is as low as the standart Technora line, which means not senseable. The canopy remains in trim, no matter if the canopy has 1 or 600 jumps. Pascal Lavielle HiPeR
  19. Thank's Come! in advance: please excuse my bad English! Many skydivers crying arround (if an accident happens) that the material (canopy, gear and so on) caused it. But in most cases it's the skydiver himself. They jump risers with soldered braking rings (very good for steering lines), do not use link protectors or soft links or simply do not take care of their equipment. This means for us we have to consider all these silly behaviours. Now we use 750 Technora steering lines and steel grommets for slider. This normally wouldn't be necessary. Fact is as Chris mentioned: the Technora (HMA) line is an extreme good line (maybe the best at the moment) which other manufacturers cannot overlook. I know that guy whose steering line broke, unfortunately! He was the first and only case with 430 HMA and the reasons why he couldn't get replacement lines I don't want to explain here. What Dan said about how many jumps the Technora lines lasts is not correct. Believe me I really offen get Nitros for relining with many jumps. One guy gave his Nitro to us (200 HMA) with 1,200 jumps of the first and only lineset. Just the steering line has been replaced one time. Just to explain who I am. I worked to years for Klaus Schenk (Profile Research), designer of the Nitro. The year 2000 was a great year for the Nitro. Many skydivers, in the U.S. too, asked to get one. In June 2001 we visited Precision to make a license agreement, so that the Nitro could manufactured and sold directly in the U.S. to keep the costs low. Unfortunately Klaus died of a bad illness in December 2001. Everyone of the team was totally shocked, but we (his wife and 3 friends) decided to go on manufacturing and developing canopies. Have fun and take care of your equipment! Pascal Lavielle High Performance Research (HiPeR) www.hipercanopies.de P.S. Our site will soon be in English
