  1. You know, against my advice, some people actually really want them. I have seen them come out really good too. I try to talk customers out of that as some want to show their support, but there are some who are very determined and I have seen some look brilliant. Personally, I am not the sort of guy who wants people wearing my branding, It makes me feel like a tool. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  2. I secretly take all my customers orders and then convert them all to karnage krew colours before i send the orders to UPT. SO everyone gets the exact same rig using my colours. Pretty soon I will have about 12 containers being shipped out and people will start realising that i started doing this a month or two ago. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  3. Mate, i think you are reading into these forum posts and our PM's totally wrong. I love the colour pattern, i was just giving you a bit of shit like you constantly do me, all in the name of a laugh/fun. nothing personal. I really like your rig and it is the exact colour combination I will be getting on my personal micron. I saw that colour combination on Marks and it looks dope. I love your rig, I think it has got to be easily in the top five favourites of mine. I am certain it will not be exactly the same as anyone else's cause when that happens at UPT and the girl who does the orders types in a exact copy of a previous customers the office and marketing divisions alarm goes off and their computers automatically switch to the confirmations to show exactly why they are the same and what the new customer needs to change to make it different but still very cool. It is a really loud alarm that does not shut off until the second customer has signed the confirmation agreeing to have a different pattern, then UPT send them out a Tshirt saying " I caused the alarm at UPT'. All rather dramatic really, but thats why we love UPT. Quality is awesome in all aspects, components, marketing, service and ordering pattern designs. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  4. GEt over yourself. You are the person who takes the piss out of everyone in the forum. What you cant take what you give? I thought me and you enjoyed having a laugh with each other. Anyway, I notice you have now deleted the picture of your rig. Shame really, It is very similars to Marks container and I was about to copy his container for my own personal rig as well as i love the orange and grey. Not sure what your problem is. Good luck and i hope you love your container. It looked good. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  5. Shame your container is a copy of the marks. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  6. I can sell you one at the price they cost me form the manufacturers but $5 would not cover the cost of postage. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  7. An Airplane dealer thinks the appropriate action is to come into a public forum and bitch and moan before contacting the manufacturer?? What an arse. That is not how businessman behave. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  8. So whats stopping you from buying a Skyhook? Not kidding you, I have so many people who have never wanted a RSL, now buying microns with skyhooks. Have a look of the videos of these things in action. if you cant find anything that says or shows you why you should not get one, then stop looking and go and buy one. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  9. LMAO LMAO LMAO That was hillarious. Great post mate. First of all, I make a living by selling skydiving products. Secondly, the comments I made were compliments in slang. I am not going to change who I am because I sell a product. I am not American, we have different slang compliments than you guys do. For example, you go up to a girl where I come from and say "Hey Dog', you are going to get knocked out. Though in America you have some fat guys on a family tv show calling everyone a dog. Bees Knees, Mutz Nuts, 'is the shit', are very high praising compliments outside of America. Sorry you only read the first line of my post and jumped to conclusions. Thanks for your concern though. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  10. Sorry but nobody here is actually saying these stories you 'keep hearing'. So unable to provide you with any videos to whatever stories you are hearing. I would suggest you google the stories you keep hearing or maybe use the search function. At the end of the day, if such videos are on this website, the person who shows them to you is going to have to use the search function to find them for you. Seems to me that is something you could do just as easily rather than have someone do your searching for you. There is a link to the search function in the top right hand corner of every page in the forums. Just type in 'skyhook video' and see what comes up. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  11. I agree, but now seeing it has happened the lesson should be learnt and solved. 'when climbing out on the wheel of a cessna be extra careful not to bump your rig on the wings if you have a skyhook, or just dont do it.' Its not the skyhooks fault anymore, the jumper is now aware that extra attention and care is needed and is aware of the possible scenario. Just as we learn from everything else that happens. A HP canopy with a low turn can mean you are going to hit the ground hard, so we make sure we turn high enough. its no longer the canopies fault if we hit the ground hard, it is the jumpers fault. With everything we buy in life we need to care for those things and be aware of the attention those items need. Obviously if you own a skyhook then you need to make sure you dont bump that rig on the wing of a plane above your head. Camera guys make sure when they have a camera on their head they dont climb out and smack the camera on the wings, skyhook owners now have something to look out for. It applies in so many situations, dont let your reserve handle catch on anything or it could kill you while climbing out of a plane.... dont let your skyhook catch on anything as climbing out of a plane as that too could kill you. With everything new in life comes more ways we can kill ourselves, or more ways we can protect ourselves. There is a balance i believe. I am also willing to bet that right after that incident happened Bill Booth would have been relevied he finally has something new to keep himself busy and invent a way for that to never be able to happen again. Bill Booth is the mad genius of skydiving and his products are brilliant. I bow down to the man. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  12. Skyhook is the bees knees, the mutz nuts, the dogs bollocks. The skyhook is the shit! A reserve over your head in 1.8 seconds? Holy Fuck! I have ordered dozens of microns in the past few months with only 1 person opting to not go with the skyhook.. I think the video you are searching for is where the guys rig hits the wing of the cessna as he is on the strut and it pulls the bitch out. I dont think that is a skyhook issue, more of a guy maybe not use to getting out on the strut of a cessna and having his rig hit the wing above his back. (gear awareness, awareness of surroundings?) its not like the skyhoook jumped out of this container and latched on to the wing or door or whatever pulled it out. Cant find the video but it is sure was one scary video, and not cause of the skyhook. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  13. I too believe he will be gone within the next few eliminations, if he was a bit smarter and did not approach so many people he would have been alot better. I do think he might be clicking on to he talked to too many people and they will try to flush that immunity idol out. You know the best thing about it though..... He actually found the OTHER tribes immunity idol. Now if he gets smart he will organize to be the one 'sent' to the other tribes camp on their next loss and will find his own teams immunity idol as well. The guy is brilliant, I hope he starts fucking with people a bit more though. Preview next week shows that he might have pissed that yale dude off a bit. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  14. Buying second hand gear normally means the gear is available very quickly (just shipping time if it is not local, could be immediately if it is local), so you don't need to rent gear for long. I don't see how second hand gear plus gear rental could possibly cost more than new gear without rental. It does sound like a great idea for those who choose to buy new gear. Question: what exactly is the poll asking? How much was spent on gear rental prior to acquiring a rig? Or something else? I didn't see an actual question in there anywhere (well, lots of good questions, but none that explained the poll itself). How much was spent on gear rental prior to getting your own first rig, for whatever reason. So many reasons someone needs to rent a rig before they are able to buy a rig, new or second hand. At the moment we have a couple of rigs that we send out to customers who are desperate to save on gear rental while their rig is being ordered at no charge. We have some customers who are jumping hard out straight from AFF, Before they buy anything or after they buy something (sometimes they just want to see if the XXX is better suited to them than the XXX) we send them out one of our rigs to use at no cost depending on their situation while they wait for their other gear or decide on what to buy. I dont make them and will not make them pay anything for that as they might 'use' me but really, I find they stick around for their next purchase because of the help and support we showed to begin with. I am looking at, well actually, what I will be doing is buying eight more rigs and letting jumpers use them as that quick 30-50 jump rig to downsize from the 210 to the 190 they want to purchase, or use it as a rig to jump while they wait for their gear to be made. I am not and will not be charging people to use our gear. We are currently working with a manufacturer and university skydiving clubs in the uk to get demo rigs out to be shared amongst the clubs, without any commitment of purchase. At the moment we have two demo rigs that will be shared around UK universities for special events and just to try that certain rig and canopy. These rigs are being used by a couple of newbies at the moment and will then be in the UK for the university trail, so with those over there I am looking at buying another half dozen or so to help out those who need something to jump while they wait for their kit to be built or while they try to get through that oversized canopy stage until they can purchase a rig that would be a more appropriate purchase. Again, not really a USA thing because in the USA you have loads of kit. I see kit being sold here in Australia second hand at prices that are equivalent to me making $1000 profit on a brand new kit. (up until next month, I have stayed away from selling gear in Australia because I thought I would be stepping on toes-But i get alot of instructors calling me latley to see how I can help them out as prices here are insane) The USA is flooded with gear, not the same as the UK, Australia, ASia, Australia, New Zealand. Good second gear is not as easily found and if it is it is expensive. A customer cam and purchased a rig off me last week in Oz because the second hand rig he was looking at with 400 jumps on it was being sold for $6000 USD. A Icon, pilot, smart with a cypres 2. I would sell that for $6500 USD brand new at the highest pricing. I just couldn't believe the amount of money people are paying to jump gear here in Australia. Experienced jumpers who stop over and dont have their gear with them were paying well over $100 AUD per jump. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  15. Love my Kroops blue goggles. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  16. This guy is a genius. The hidden immunity idol, finding it in front of the whole camp and nobody noticed, no clues, nothing. Genius. Loving that line where Ben is going on about that hairstylist and then pauses and says 'prostitute'. Hillarious. They got a great cast of muppets together this season. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  17. Cool. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  18. Okay, I know some jumpers in Australia, when they start jumping they have to hire kit, and a jump with gear hire can cost about $120 Australian dollars. So they probably do about 20 jumps with kit hire and then try to buy gear. Straight away that would be about $1000 Australian dollars in kit hire for 20 jumps approx.? Then they buy gear and wait up to 3 months on average for their kit to arrive. Maybe they do a total of 50 jumps with kit hire, making them spend about $2500 Australian dollars on kit hire. So I know some dropzones in the states when you buy a rig give you an option that you can use their kit hire for free saving a fortune. It seems something like this in Australia would save MEGA dollars. My business Karnage Krew has been dealing with alot of newbies in the sport for a few years now and I have just formed a company with a backer. What I am trying to find out here by general response by new jumpers is if there is a market for a company that offers you a rig to loan straight away off AFF all for the price of comitting to buying a rig within your first 100 jumps. I am not asking this so much for americans opinions because gear is cheaper in the states than anywhere and there is more of it and there are already places that do this, but i am still interested to hear by result of poll what you spend on gear rental. What I am thinking is a person comes off AFF and does about 10 jumps on the rigs at the club, then they get a loaner rig either while they wait for their new rig to be made or they get a loaner rig with the commitment of a down payment towards a new rig when they have got in the groove and know what rig will be financially vaible as in sizing to purchase outright. If they were to buy a brand new rig, then it seems like it would make it very viable and it would get more good quality second hand gear on the market as buying a second hand rig and paying for gear hire could be the same price as buying a brand new rig with free gear rental. I get the feeling that in Australia you would save thousands as $50 to hire gear per jump is huge from my understanding. My prices are already pretty damn cheap and i get good steady business but i am trying to find out from this pole if the system that companies like Square 1 do in America would be something worth doing in other countries. yes I know there would be lots of expenses in maintaining the rigs but as a dealer it would be cheaper and I am also sure that there are a couple of companies that would want their rigs to be the loaner rigs exclusively, meaning that maintaining the rigs could be alot cheaper than you would first think, especially if you had a rigger on the books. I understand there will be people quick to put the idea down, there will also be people who love the idea and some that might feel threatened by it, but I would ideally like to hear good and bad criticism towards it and not just from the regulars that are on the 'always buy second hand' bandwagon as new jumper do buy brand new gear, even after spending three months telling a certain customer that buying a brand new 190 rig is not a great choice as it will not be financially viable as they will downsize very quickly. But hey, some just dont believe you. I am asking this for business research, I am not trying to conduct business in the forums, I am using the gear section for research and as a resource so I do hope this thread is not breaking the rules of professional adverts as it is purely research and I am grateful there is a site like this that can help make decision as such. God I get nervous posting threads like this, always think I am going to get purely attacked and flamed. I am scared, i should just delete this now. I would really like to hear from uk, Australian, NZ, and european jumpers who have high tax costs and expensive currency exchanges to buy gear from the USA. The ideal group of responses would be people who have around 100-200 jumps in the past 18 months who know the cost of gear and the amount they spent on gear rental and what they wish they could have done. At the end of the day, I want my business to make money, and I believe a good business makes money by giving the people what they want, not telling them what they have to do. So in away I think this could help skydiving keep people in the sport at the newly qualified stage and also put alot of good condition second hand rigs on the market if it makes it alot more affordable to buy brand new in the bigger sizes knowing you saved a couple of grand on gear rental and you will get more money back when you sell your brand new rig as it may only have a couple of hundred jumps on it, rather than your first 190 rig having 1500 jumps on it when you buy it and 1800 jumps on it when you sell it. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  19. Articulated wings containers are very comfortable rigs. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  20. I dont work for them but we are doing 30% off Vector 3's containers with options at 25% off until the 50,000 the one is ordered. I would love to see one of my customers collect the 50,000th container and be able to have some one on one time with Bill. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  21. Yeah he is not smart enough to be the asshole he has the potential to be. Shame really as he the right person with his way of thinking could actually win it and nobody on the island would know the truth until they watched it on tv. Now if he has the skills to do that it would make great tv. I am willing to bet during his audtion process he was telling the directors that he would be like this and thats what got him on. If he lasts till they are really starving and then finally win a food reward, i would love to see him throw the food away. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  22. Ah, who cares how long he lasts. It is nice to have someone there being honest about all he is trying to do is make it as miserable as possible. I hope he does not give up. I never saw the ending, it cut out on me :( He should hide the flint and the machete .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  23. How fucking funny is this guy!! LMFAO!!!! Hilarious. He sits there in the middle of the night on the first night and empties all the canteens full of water. He says "I plan on making this place as miserable as possible for everyone" Then he takes someones sock and burns it in the fire. Fuck this guy is hilarious!!! Fuck, this guy is too good. For some reason he makes me think of Andy_Copland. Then he tells us he is really a multi millionaire in houston who own a oil company. Though he tells everyone he is a Katrina victim who lost his dog that he never had for nine years. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  24. Simple.... Write to NZAerosports and ask them. They also make Icarus Tandems and may not have the same rule or whatever. I am not a Rigger or a TI, but I do sell Tandem mains and thought you might like another approach to your thread. Sorry. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  25. It does say Bill Booths 'companies'. I really dont know, but I did think I could maybe have a chance of getting it correct seeing the Serial numbers are on the confirmations we get everytime we place an order, though am now told these will no longer be. ANyway, good luck to whoever wins it. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
