Hey Bud, I don't think I need a lecture, I've been in this sport for a while AND some people have to watch their pennies. My point was simple, watch out using certain terms before you know your facts. I've jumped one for several years and never had a problem. Watch when using the term knock-off. The guy who designed the Dolphin is the same guy who designed the Javelin (Mike Furry). So the Dolphin is no knock-off. The Dolphin is a no-nonsense affordable rig. For those of us who are on budgets or don't have alot of disposable income the Dolphin is just fine. It's my understanding that's why Mike came up with the Dolphin, so cash strapped people could have quality, affordable new containers. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Tri's are excellent 1st canopies. Just be careful when packing, if packed with care the openings are great, if packed sloppily they can bite you! You'll never set a swooping record! Tri's are solid in turbulent conditions, have a wide control range, and are all around good canopies to learn on. If you are (and stay, like me) a conservative canopy pilot a Tri is a great canopy. There were several large claims mainly during the mid to late 90's, these had a ripple effect that we are feeling now. Most of these were demo's gone WAY wrong, including fatalities (spectators). Also there was a spike in individual members claims that may have been little shady in some cases, i.e. not in the spirit of what the members individual insurance was supposed to be. AirTwardo or other professional demo jumpers would be able to explain it a little better. The bottom line is that it screwed members who like to do occasional demos, and it made pro teams' performances much more difficult because of the cost factor. I agree with Miami, I roll both sides in (pro pack) just a couple of times, then push the center cell into the middle fairly deep and roll the tail several times . Aerodyne also recommends a four grommet bag. Contact them, they have great customer service. Tri's are packing sensitive, several years ago I wasn't so careful and WHAM!!! I blew up a 220 and knocked myself goofy(er). Since then I've been more careful and followed their advice, I've had no problems with my 190. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Jump 320, Broken steering line on a StarTracI, could have flown it but........it was military (owned) gear and I wanted to get my first one out of the way. Chop-swoosh a beautiful yellow Sharpchuter. The cool thing was the Blackhawk I was jumping picked me up in some farmers driveway. The other cool thing was when I lost the freebag the team rigger said, "no problem dude, we got lots of those."
