    lost interest

Well I am VERY VERY new... but I had a conversation with someone online about this. I got injured about a month and a half ago, and the first few weeks were tough. All I wanted to do was jump. But now, I miss it, but the need to go imeadiately is waning. I can understand how, if you do get away from it, the motivation to start can be difficult. I can't wait til the spring so I can jump again, but i am not jonesing like I was a month ago. Every day that passes, I loose a bit of the drive.
  8. do most people generally use Digital?... I would assume yes in this day and age.
  9. I am still a student. From what I have seen so far, I think in the future I would definately like to get into videography. I have been lurking, and realize the safty issue involved, and for that reason, I will not get into it until I have maybe a couple hundred jumps. But, I was looking for some help on first time videographers equip. Types of helmet: Types of Cam, cam case... etc How much $$$ am I looking at to get into it. I think in the begining I just want to shoot a couple of my friends, or use it while doing some RW... you know build up som skills and stuff, so I am not looking for top of the line shit. I am just looking to make some movies that I can watch on rainy/windy days while drinkin some beer.
  10. YES SHOW ME YOUR TITS...well not yours jt
  11. Very nice thanks for the entertainment at work
  12. I COMPLETELY agree with you. I can understand that danger does have some alure about it, but let's face it. If we could get back everyone that was hurt or killed, it would be an even better sport. Dangerous or not skydiving is unbelievable. I would take safty anyday.
  13. You guys are somewhat right.. (I have a major in Atmosheric Physics) It is all reletive right. Yes every object does have its' own mass and therefore gravity, but when we are discussing objects like people or cannonballs or feathers, it really doesn't matter. Obviously the numbers are so small (1x10 -10) that they can be neglected. Even large objects like mountains could be neglected when comparing it to the entire earth. So, in a vacuum, objects will continually accelarate at the same rate (10m/s2) until impact, and TV will never be achived, since there is no drag to slow accelaration. Also 2 people that have the same shape and mass will have the exact same drag coefficient, and will therefore fall at the same rate. However several things can dramatically alter the rate of accelaration. body possition, clothing... etc. For people that fall faster than their partners, steps can be taken to match speeds. Wear baggier cloths, arch harder, give slower people weights...
  14. I am with you Jessica... well almost 1:0:0
  15. I am still new, but all I know is, from day one everything changed. My confidence, my awareness, my cynicism. etc... I can't describe it, but my jump-buddy and I always talk about how, when things are bad, or stressfull, we just take one second to think about skydiving and it all changes. A big smile comes over our face and we say to eachother, "Dude, who fuckin cares... We jump out of airplanes!!!" It always seems to lift me up, and make me feel better about life. It has also helped to alienate me away from my friends and family that all think I am stupid. I just hope that they, in their ordinary lives, can feel as good about life as I do.

thanks wing, that weekend numbers thing needed explaining. I was confused!!!
  17. I am new to the sport, and don't have any expert opinions. I do know that in training they make it perfectly clear that the radio is a tool, not a life saving device. A student should know when to cut, and should not fear making a life saving decision. But, I also agree that if the radio works the instructor upon noticing a student will die or be injured, is obligated to try and save their life. Some thing simple like, "John, if you can not land the chute cut it away now" To prevent them from making their own cut away decision at 300feet.

I am on IAF lvl 9... thanx for the welcome
  19. Us men could easily make the same excuse. It was dark...didn't want to check it... But then we would piss all over the seat. So I guess you have a choice. Fall into cold water, or sit in warm piss. I think both sides, men and women should comprimise. Maybe Mon,Wed, Fri- the seat stays up for us men. Tues, thur, sat, Down for the ladies, and sunday should just be a free-for-all. But I too put it down, It is just easier than listening to the complaining... It still doesn't garantee me sex though. I must be doing something else wrong.
  20. Everyone, I am going through an IAF program. I noticed though that there are few DZs that follow this program. Most seem to be AFF. I like the program I am in, and I am sure i am biased, but I was wondering if there were any disadvantages to this training. Also, I am pretty much done for the season, since here in the Northeast, snow causes a problem for us newbies, so I was wondering if during the winter there as any other type of training I could/should get. Obviously after time off I will take refresher classes to implant safety procedures into my brain again, but what else can i do during my 6mo of free time?
