  1. Glad to hear it's not as bad as you were expecting. Did the vet discuss some physical therapy that maybe could be done to help her other leg so that maybe you can avoid surgery? Have you made a decision as to what you're going to do for the little one? Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. 3. Nope...none of the DZ's. I loved the Farm when I jumped there the last time. Just have different priorities right now. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
  4. Nope...but you may have come across me at Sky Knights.
  5. Maybe she doesn't realize that is The Farms anniversary weekend. Isn't it?? I dont know.. typically people go to the drop zone to skydive. The Farm has changed a lot in the past couple of years. Well.. Pops is still there. Thank God, I'm not typical. I stopped jumping when it was a choice between doing 1 jump a month (due to school and working 3rd shift) or not jumping at all. For me, if I'm unable to do a minimum of 12 jumps a month, I don't feel current and won't take the chances. When I'm done with vet school and can be current then I'll start jumping again. I actually have people that I consider friends in various states/countries and at various dropzones. As has been shown way too often on this board, those we consider friends can leave us when we least expect it and not in a timely manner. Those that I consider friends are the reason that I'm going to the DZ - to spend time with them. The sky will always be there...people may not. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! 6. The AMP commercial is hysterical! Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
  7. No worries. I'm not actually invested in the game 'cause my team isn't playing. I'm just enjoying it and the commercials. Between the Bud ("Suck One") commerical and the AMP commerical, I'm dying here. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. 8. Damn! Being able to pause the game sucks...'cause I still have 1:22 left in the game with what we're watching. Frickin' A!!!! You ruined the last few minutes for me. *pouting* Life is short! 14. I'm torn. I don't want the Patriots to go 19-0, but I don't want the Giants to win since they beat the Packers. hmmm....more I think about it, I hope the Patriots win. Life is short! 15. I don't have the exact route(s), yet, but the timeframes are set and the "game plan" is to cause trouble. March 30th - Driving from Wisconsin to Tennessee. I'll be in Tennessee until April 2nd. April 2nd - Drive from Tennessee to Georgia. I'll be in Georgia until April 5th. (And, yes...I'm planning on making it to the Farm but won't be jumping...just causing trouble. ) April 5th - Drive from Georgia to Florida. I'll be in Florida until April 9th and will be stopping at ZHills hopefully on the 6th. April 9th - Drive from Florida to Texas. I'm allowing myself 2 days drive time to Texas just in case I don't want to do the approx. 17 hour drive in one day. I'll be in Texas until April 15th. April 15th - Drive from Texas to Wisconsin. Hope to meet up with a bunch of you during the trip.
  16. Is there a treat that your pup loves (just gobbles up) - i.e. peanut butter or pill pockets? Try putting the pill(s) in them. Otherwise, the 'ole "fun" of - grab puppy...open mouth...throw pill down throat...close mouth and keep closed...massage throat would be the way to go. Always love doing that one. Life is short! 17. No experience wtih Elk Velvet. The vets that I work with stick with painkillers like Rimadyl, Tramadol, etc. and joint supplements such as Glucosamine/Chondroitin. Bigway - Best of luck with the x-rays. Hopefully, it's something that is easily fixed with minimal pain and no long term damage. Either way...give your little one lots of lovin' from me, k?
  18. The reason I asked about previous x-ray recommendations is what I've seen the vets I work with (currently or previously) do. In the ER, it was automatic - dog in pain with leg/hip manipulation, it was an automatic x-ray recommendation. Day practice - they look at the dog, and based upon level of pain, will either give 1 week to see if the dog gets better (and then x-rays if not better) or recommend x-rays immediately. Just curious what yours had done. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
  19. I'm glad you like the vet you're now dealing with.
  20. awww....Bigway, She's absolutely adorable. Give her a few extra scratches, hugs, and treats for me, k? FYI - I've seen surgeons charge anywhere from 2K to 10K for hip surgery. It depends on what's being done, if both hips are being done, how long they're planning on keeping her in hospital, what meds they're going to put her on, etc. Have you seen her x-rays? Also, what kind of pain management, joint supplements, etc. are they talking about her being on? I've, also, got a question on this statement. Hip dysplasia is a genetic issue caused by a loose joint(s) and can be treated surgically in a variety of methods. An injury is something different. Did your vet explain which it is? Life is short!
