I wasn't trying to critique you dude, It was a sincere question for if I ever decide to put a gopro on. maybe some mounts are better than others

pretty much any mount "CAN" snag.
What's important here is that the G3 is not designed to come off your head easily.
No cutaway system I have seen changes that.
I have seen a DIY camera mount cutaway, where the base of the mount disconnects. This i thought was decent.
Everything else IMO is pretty much useless.(Especially the fastex buckle and finger trap cord version).

If you really want to run a camera get a helmet designed to have one on it.

  2. I've seen a bunch of these posts over the years.
The conclusion i draw from them is that the vast majority of folks are with the WRONG partner.

The should be NO permission needed for anything in a good relationship.
No one should be telling their loved other that what makes them happy is wrong.
No one should be spending all their time away from their loved one.

by reading through this thread and other threads most of you lot should probably be and stay single.

Noticed my local airport has started to swab for ''explosives''. Anyone had that test done on a carry on rig with a cypres? Problems?

I travel internationally with my rig OFTEN. I have had it inspected and swabbed many times over the years, it's not just a recent thing.
I always ask the Sec guys if they have handled a parachute before if they want to touch it. If they say no, i explain to them what they should not tamper with and why.
I ALWAYS treat them with the utmost respect and courtesy.
In 12 years of traveling all over the world with my gear I have never encountered a problem. Only ever on one occasion have i been told I could not take my rig as carry on and it went to hold.

Well, it looked like the "no rig" fella had a harness of some sort under his pants, like Pastrana's jump a few years back.

I too, hope that it was a junk rig they tossed.

I wonder if the pilot knew what was up. Was the "tossed rig" worn to make the pilot think it was just a normal balloon jump?
Then they pulled off the stunt without telling him?

he was wearing a harness, he even drew attention to it by adjusting the loop before exit. it wasnt meant to be a magic trick;) just dumb

The two grommets, seen on the picture, are of the same size (# 0 I guess) but their overlaping (or near overlaping) is far from being right which leads me to say that the loop is too long and yields to unsufficient tension. A right tension wouldn't allow the eye of the pin going thru the loop.
OTOH, we all can question the jumper pin check before boarding the aircraft.

it's a Vector rig, the grommets are not meant to overlap.

I'm convinced it's a special effects video. Just want to make sure, and see what other people think.

it's not even good video shop effects. :S
Wallace and Grommet were visually more believable:D:D:D:D:D:D

How did you get them to the point where they're okay with you spending a ridiculous amount of time and money on this sport? Mine shoots laser beams out of her eyes anytime I mention it

I asked earlier but got no reply.
    Whose money are you spending?
    Yours?
    Hers?
    Money for other things?

If it's your money why is she annoyed?

My SO is a non skydiver and we don't have these issues never really have. I jump pretty regularly, and travel a bit to do it.
But it's not ALL i do.
We have joint activities that we do, and she has her own interests.

How ever I may just have more disposable income for jumping than many other skydivers, because I dont drink booze or do drugs. Therefore ALL my recreational monies are spent recreationally on things like Skydiving, old motorbikes, rock climbing and travel.

My life is pretty freaking awesome :D

Never give in to "It's skydiving or me!" You'll live to regret it. Are you married or just "in a relationship"?

I REALLY dont get this type of question, My wife has never questioned the things that make me happy. Nor I her.
If you're not spending monies allocated to other priorities then it should be of no concern to anyone.
    Are you spending HER money?

    Hi,

Thanks for getting back to us, but unfortunately we still can't confirm you're the owner of this account based on the information we've received. Please reply with a photo or scan of your government-issued photo ID that clearly shows your name as well as your photo or date of birth.

If you're unable to provide a clear photo or scan of your government-issued photo ID, you can submit 2 forms of ID that show the same name. Also, one of the IDs must include a photo or date of birth that matches the information on your profile.

this is the reply that I got from Facebook.

You're nothing more than a marketing company and have no need for that info so there's not way no how you're getting it.

    so get stuffed.

    I knew it!!!!:P

I'm in the process of starting a new account with the same name "Squeak Squeaka"
It's not a "FAKE" name it's who I am except at work.
I've been called Squeak since i was 5 so there;s nearly 50 years of me being Squeak, but they want "official" ID to verify my name.
They can get stuffed, there is absolutely no NEED for it, and only for ID mining.

That's a massive PITA as i correspond and conduct a large amount of my travel and skydiving planning on there.

    *********Some of my favorite episodes:
Best later became Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane in "The Dukes of Hazzard".

Trivia question: what did "P" stand for? (what was Coltrane's middle name?)

    Penelope

    [buzzer] nope.

(ETA: I'll give it another day for others to offer their answers before providing it) Pervert (Purvis actually) as a kid I thought that was close enough:ph34r::ph34r:

*********if you jump numbers are correct, I would hazard a guess that you in fact have NO RIGHT to take your rig on as hand luggage, because it will be above the maximum weight restriction for cabin luggage. Whis is most case (not all) is 7-8kg.

Incorrect and off-topic.it's not off topic, that was in reference to YOUR RIGHT as you put it to take anything not on the exclusion list.
    and how is it incorrect?
It's off-topic because it's incorrect so is out of scope of this discussion. And you already answered why it's incorrect yourself. I'm sorry, but I don't have time to spoonfeed you. Please discuss the instant issue or feel free to use a different part of the forum. Thank you.

OH ok I can see why it was disallowed now :)

On my right to take my rig as hand luggage, I find it interesting that I "have no right" to do so. I thought that I had the right to take on any hand luggage I wanted that wasn't in the list of disallowed items.
