I've got a trip to California planned for February 10-15, staying at Elsinore for Flight-101 and 102, and whatever other jumping I can do. I was there in December and the weather was lacklustre to say the least, so I'm interested in a backup plan.

So I'm looking for contacts for good coaches in the tube - I know there's Perris, iFly San Diego, don't know what else in the area.

I'm a pretty new skydiver so I'm interested in improving my RW belly flying, and figuring out when I'll be good to start learning a bit of freeflying. Any recommendations?

Perris and Ontario are closer than SD, at your level ANY of the tunnel coaches would be fine for your belly work. give a call and ask. If you chose Perris you can try and organise some tunnel sky coaching

The earlier part of February has typically been dry. Last year even the last weekend in Feb was dry (but it rained the whole weekend the two years before that). In general February is a very jumpable month. The spring winds don't usually start kicking in until March, sometime around Safety Day. So it's a very good time to come here! There are belly and freefly load organizers every day, and there is usually some kind of special event around Valentines. Last year there was a mini-bigway (belly) skills camp over Valentines weekend, and an MFS Money Meet the weekend after that.

come and say hi to the purple freefly suit wearer :P:P

Edit: the one that's NOT Chazi :D:D

******Ignore completely. Give it no further thought.

OR post about it on the internet and drag as much mileage as you can out of it.

Over Christmas leave I'm heading to California and Arizona. I'm doing Flight-101 and 102 at Elsinore on the 17th/18th, and the 18,000' jump at Monterey Bay, that's planned so far. I'm wondering what else I should see/do. I'm booked to stay at the bunkhouse at Elsinore and I'm trying to avoid renting a car, so thought a post on here might help me meet some new folks along the way. And maybe hitch some rides, or something.

I'm a pretty new skydiver, A-licensed, and looking for opportunities to get better, hence the Flight-1 courses. Any suggestions people might have for places to check out (Perris I'm sure, I'm told getting from Elsinore to Perris shouldn't be too hard.)

I know Eloy has a boogie between Christmas and New Year, though by the time I'm in Arizona, I'll have my lovely, generally tolerant whuffo wife with me, and we're staying with my parents, so taking off on her is not likely to happen. It might have to wait for another time!

LOL Im doing the reverse, Eloy boogie then over to SoCal there's a few DZs not far from Snore. (which is my 2nd home) Perris is 30mins away, and Oceanside is coastal and south, Skydive San Diego is further south again. at your level all places would have something fun for you to do B|

On a separate, but similar note; they no longer teach cursive in schools. When I found out, I asked, "So, how are they supposed to read the US Constitution?" "Oh, it's online in block font.">:(

Good news is there's cursive writing books an she likes cursive (it's pretty). So, Mom's lunchbox notes are in cursive, my emails to her are in cursive, etc.

    Y'all have a great day!!

    Seriously?
Cursive writing is imperative to fluid thinking. when you learn to write in letter style you process the words by letter. Cursive writing allows the brain to operate at a different level. More fluid it helps a lot with thinking processes, especially when you are writing narratives and forming written opinions.
It matters less if you are merely copying text, but it's a key stage in development when writing conscious streams.

  14. So in 2014 I walked along the northern coast of Spain on the Camino de Santiago Ruta Del Norte.
900 kms of sore feet and good food, great scenery awesome company and 4 weeks of active meditation.
Well on Friday, I'm off to Spain to do it all again. Only this time walking the Camino de Santiago Via de la Plata. 1007 kms from Seville in the south to Santiago de Compostela in the north.
Hopefully the feet will not be as sore and everything else will be as good if not better than 2014.

It seems the pilots did a good job belly landing a 777 in Dubai today. No account of fatalities or injuries.

Passengers and crew fine. Unfortunately a firefighter died trying to extinguish the plane.
