  1. OMG!!! LOL That's hysterical!! Bahahahaha!! I'm drunk- going to sleep- 'night y'all!!
  2. Ah di'n't say "a whole another", dagnabbit. 'Sides, boy, we ain't discussin' them rednek talkin' rules, we's talkin' 'bout them high falootin' collidge ritin' rules! While we're at it, where is the first comma supposed to go? Before or after the quotation mark?
  3. Hear, hear! I agree! This one drives my best friend nuts: "a whole nother" "There's no such thing as a nother!! It's another, or a whole other!!" I, on the other hand, like that expression.
  4. Hmm- good question. I like either version, as my intended "trailing-off effect" would still be communicated. Why am I in this office again? Oh yeah . . . work . . . .
  5. The rules depend on the source, but it doesn't matter since I've already claimed literary license- sort of a preemptive "out" to butcher the English language as I see fit . . .. ..... ..... .......... Btw, an ellipsis is all three dots, an individual dot is just a period (in the keyboardical sense, not the grammatical sense, of course) groan.
  6. Thanks dude. I shall henceforth bear that in mind when breaking the rule.
  7. No, no, sweetie- it's "I before E, except in Budweiser" I will never forget that rule. I missed class that day they taught us that useful little gem, and subsequently failed the next spelling test- a thing so traumatic to me, I am still scarred and haunted by it to this day. Yeah, I know, I have issues.
  8. Oh yeah? Well then, they're just... like... dumb, or whatever...
  9. Woo hoo! I learned something today! I've just read conflicting information about ellipsis usage, though. Some sources tell us to use "..." all the time, and some (including MLA), say "... ." to indicate the omission of the end of a quoted sentence. I didn't come across anything advocating the use of four periods at the beginning of a sentence, however. I like to use "..." at the end of a phrase/ comment/ sentence/ fragment to indicate a sort of conversational trailing off, as opposed to a hard stop. Does that make sense? you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  10. Ah yes, thank you dahling. I was correct, no? I liked your stripper examples- very illustrative... you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  11. It's just indicating plural possession, and leaving the possessive "s" off the end, since "skydivers's" would look stupid (and sound even dumberer.) (Sprechen of which, I can't wait to see the sequel to Dumb & Dumber.)
  12. Yeah, I don't get that use of quotes, either. It indicates irony, like you're adding (not really) to the end of what you just said. A friend of mine always writes, "Hope you have a "GREAT" day!" Uh, ok, I guess... Ellipses, on the other hand, I love to use... Hey, could someone take nykim06 under his/her wing? you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  13. You forgot punctuation! you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  14. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! I agree, Wendy- Speedy is my new hero, too. While we're at it: apostrophes are used to indicate possession or a contraction, NOT plurality. 1. That must be Bob's rig.
  15. Hee hee! Sucks you in, doesn't it? That guy is awesome- no shame whatsoever. I wonder if he's ever tried skydiving? He'd be a very fun addition to any dropzone... you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  16. You're welcome!! you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  17. Anyone out there bored at work?? Go here: http://www.zefrank.com This guy is hysterical- sometimes stupid, sometimes smart, always funny. There's LOTS of diverting stuff to play with/ watch on his website. I've gotten a bit addicted to memory- 64% is my best so far. The dance instructions and pre-date confidence builders are lol funny. Oh, and read the 'bored' and 'bored#2' sections... Smiles posted this a while back, but I thought I'd remind y'all.

    Boomo!

    Hell yeah- let's see 'em!
  19. OMG! Laughing my ass off and feeling really guilty about it at the same time! Poor kitty... Looks very real...
  20. How much is the reward, by the way? I would definitely take it. If I was astute enough to recognize Elizabeth, wearing a wig, after who-knows-how-many people looked right past her, I'd say hand it over. Then I'd do what Michele said- donate (a fund for kidnapped kids does seem appropriate- tax deductible, of course- no telling how much the g. would claim), pay bills, help my brother, and then jump my ass off! Though intuition can be scary accurate, I also agree with Michele about taking caution with assessments about the dad... That kidnapper is whacked out, and probably very skilled at manipulation. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  21. China's attempts to keep their population under control has probably resulted in a billion or so very horny people. Seems like a misguided attempt to keep a baby boom from happening nine months after the concert... I mean who can listen to "Satisfaction" without getting all hot and worked up in a never-mind-I-don't-care-about-birth-control-let's-get-it-on-right-now kind of way?? you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  22. I've read that book too- but that guy did it for cash and he really did choke (not sure if the pick-up artist seriously put his life at risk...). His 'saviors' would buy his dinner, and most of them sent him checks out of feelings of responsibility for him (you know, the old "you saved my life, my life is now yours" thing). Really weird episodes of sexual addiction and a bead fetish scenario gone horribly awry follow... you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  23. Don, I think the term you should have used is Purple Jesi... Just kidding. Hey, I'm all for poetic/literary license- use it quite liberally myself... We did Hunch Punch in giant coolers and used Kool-Aid. Btw, red Kool-Aid puke shows up on ANY color carpet except black and red, and NEVER comes out. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  24. OMG! You poor thing! Here, just let me get my arms around you, and [HEAVE!] There! All better? Poor sweet man! Now, don't you worry about that bill- I'm paying, and you're coming home with me, so I can make sure you'll be okay. You'd better hold on to me in case you get weak in the knees... you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
  25. This is just sad... Pick-up Artist you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
