18 minutes ago, billvon said:After the verdict the judge asked him if he had anything to say. He said “You are outside of your jurisdiction. You have trafficked me and you have committed war crimes against me.” The judge then admonished him for ignoring the justice system and sentenced him to six years, at which point he said "You can give me a hundred years and I'd do it all over again."
If I were the judge, I would have granted his wish.

If only I could believe he has learned anything at all from this.

As usual.
If Trump wins the complete immunity argument at the Supreme Court, then Biden should have Seal Team six assassinate Trump the second the ruling comes down right?
Or Biden could simply say:
"I am suspending the next presidential election until the other party can nominate a sane candidate."

We (the American people) elected a woman president in 2016.
But the last institutional relic of slavery installed her opponent instead.

This is much more self build by a company called MK - its a miata 1.8 engine and running gear running about 160bhp on an aftermarket ECU.
I was coming down the road between Echo Lake and Idaho Springs (CO) one day and saw a Caterham 7 with a "For Sale" sign on it. Being a huge fan of "The Prisoner", I had to stop. Well, it looked exactly like a 7 until standing next to it, I realized the engine was in the rear! I'm still not sure what the story was on it.

The every day ones will be cheap, capable, and electric (quartz casio equivalent) And the expensive ones for collectors will be objectively worse in almost every way but have more emotion associated.
I have built this thing - its all sorts of fun but my next proper everyday car will be electric.
Caterham 7?

SCOTUS rules Border Patrol can clean up Abbott's political stunt on the border.
Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Amy Coney Barrett, Ketanji Brown Jackson, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor sided with the administration. Justices Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas voted with Texas.

Will diesels run on Jet A?

2 hours ago, tkhayes said:block heaters also are common in Western Canada, Alberta etc. People in the far north, arctic etc often leave their vehicles running 24/7 as they may not start again when shut off, especially when it is -40 or below.
IN 2006 when I was ordering a new Jeep Wrangler, a block heater was an available factory option. So I ordered it. I rarely use it, but it's nice to have. I actually used it last weekend when we had 3 days of temps staying in the +8F to -11F range.

18 minutes ago, JoeWeber said:No waiting period to change party registration in NH, I think.
What I heard this morning on the radio is that only unaffiliated voters can temporarily register as Dem/GOP to vote in the primary. Which makes it somewhat similiar to here in CO, where unaffiliated voters can submit either a Dem or GOP ballot in the primary.

27 minutes ago, tkhayes said:It was the deep state that stopped him. Out of his control and even he could not fix it.
That's why you need to vote for him again, because THIS TIME..... he will fix it -
after all, he is the ONLY one that can and he knows more about it (and everything) that anybody, whatever it is that you might be talking about.
But yeah, it's not a cult.
I assume it was also the Deep State that stopped his wonderful new healthcare plan that was better, cheaper, and would have covered everyone. (Even though he never even presented it over his 4 years in the Whitehouse).

Those new-fangled horseless carriages still don't work as well as a horse in the winter. They need to make improvements before they are ready for the mass market.

6 hours ago, Stumpy said:The point is - if this is who turns out for the election because they care the most and are most riled up, Trump is gonna win.
I REALLY hope for the US sake, thats not the case. The only people eligible to vote in the Iowa caucus were registered Republicans. They constitute just 34.5% of eligible voters. In a general election the other 2/3 of the electorate will be eligible to vote.

If he expanded that to include second cousins, he would have Rudy's support!

Some statistics from the Iowa Caucus.
Source: https://independentvoterproject.org/voter-stats/ia
Source: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/01/15/us/elections/results-iowa-caucus.html
So just 7.8% of GOP-registered voters chose Trump, and they account for 2.7% of Iowa registered voters.
