O'Reilly Auto Parts has a sense of humor, even if GM doesn't.

Peter White is a rather eccentric character who maintains an online shop with bicycle components. I have ordered parts from him in the past. His website looks pretty ordinary except for the oddity there is no way to order online; You must call to order.

However, click on the "Products" tab, then scroll down to "WMDs". ;-)

    Mine doesn't.

Bolts are governed to 92 mph. I've been told it's because of the gearing and max RPMs on the electric drive motor.

Now why didn't they choose to limit them to 88mph? ;-)

The polls showing him leading Biden are somewhat suspect. There's a lot of reasons to question their validity.
The biggest reason is how they've done for the primaries. While Trump won all the primaries but one, he didn't even come close to the margin of victory the polls predicted. Some polls had him winning by double what he actually won by.

So polls that show him a few percent above Biden don't bother me much.

As one pundit I follow has said:

"Polls give you an accurate reading of the political leanings of the portion of the demographic who still picks up the phone for unknown callers."

I haven't picked up for unknown callers for well over a decade.

The Chevy Bolt has a nifty thing called "One Pedal Driving" (OPD). Lifting off the accelerator pedal (I'm not going to call it the 'gas pedal') puts it into full regen. All the way to a complete stop.

The guy who has the Youtube  channel "Technology Connections" has a Hyundai EV that he is pretty happy with, but was not happy when he discovered it never turns on the brake lights even during the hardest regen braking. For that reason he stopped using the hardest setting. I recently read that Hyundai has now implemented brake light activation in their regen braking.

Now I'm running a list of past Veeps through my head. I can't think of any that were considered ready to be POTUS by the general public. Did anyone want Biden? Bush? Pence? Gore? Cheney? Quayle? I mean, while they were veep.

    Pence?  HELL, YES!!!

I would have been delighted to see the Orange Moron croak, and Pence take over.

Not unlike Tina Fey parodying Sarah Palin, it's best to watch a mash up of both Britt & Johanssen, first one saying a bit, then the other saying the same part.

    Here is one:

  7. One of the last remaining Republicans who can still think for themselves, Ken Buck got fed up with the pandering to the Orange Moron, and had announced he was leaving at the end of the year. Well, now he has announced it will be next week.

Rep. Ken Buck to leave office early

Federal law requires a vacancy election to fill Buck’s seat, but the timing is a bit tight. Colorado law says a congressional vacancy election can not occur within 90 days of a general election, which means the vote could occur no later than early August. It will be up to Gov. Jared Polis to set the date for a vacancy election.

This is the seat that Bobo has been planning to run for in this fall's elections.

    ETA:

Ken Buck Leaving House Next Week

It also appears, since Lauren Boebert is switching districts, that she would have to resign her current House seat in order to be eligible for the Special election. It is also too late to qualify for the ballot in her current district. So, Boebert appears to be in a bit of a bind where she likely will have to resign her current seat in CO-3 to run in the Special Election unless she wants to run against the winner of the Special Election in November, which is not ideal.

Bwahaha! It looks like he is giving a parting gift to Bobo. It's no secret he has a very low opinon of her.

    Why would he switch?

Harris has a record of doing a good job, no scandals (no legitimate ones), presented well as VP. She hasn't misspelled 'potato'.

And has not gotten into a debate with a sit-com actress.

  9. Hope you are sitting down for this; Katie Britt may have been less than truthful about her sex-trafficking story:

Rolling Stone: Sex Trafficking Survivor Calls Out Katie Britt for Misrepresenting Her Story

Shortly after the speech aired, independent journalist Jonathan M. Katz identified the woman in Britt’s story as Karla Jacinto, who was trafficked in Mexico, not the U.S., between 2004 and 2008 — more than a decade before Biden assumed the presidency.

The judge is allowing Carroll to object to the bond by Monday. To be honest, I've never put up a $90 million dollar bond, superdeas or not, so I just thought someone really needed to count out the moolah. But is a performance bond or IOU thing? The Insurance company that put up the bond might have some nefarious connections to Trump naysayers are saying. What's the scoop?

Article about the source of the bond:

What Idiot Backed Trump’s Bond in E. Jean Carroll Trial? This One.

It turns out that Trump may have called in a major favor: Court records filed Friday show that the bond was guaranteed by the Chubb Corporation, an insurance group. In 2018, Trump appointed Chubb’s CEO Evan Greenberg to a White House advisory committee for trade policy and negotiations.

Well, he did win the seat ten times in a row; how hard can it be to win it again?

He did invent the Oscillation Overthruster, so all those wins were easy by comparison!

I can't help but think that whoever is elected, they won't finish their 4 year term for one reason or another.

I don't remember which political pundit said it about a week ago, but they had this zinger:

"Nikki Haley really needs to stay in the race. Just like Charlie Sheen's understudy in a Broadway play, you know they are going to be needed!"

Righto, but that was when it was only Mexicans. I remember when the Darien Gap was considered too treacherous unless you were a Navy Seal. Now the line through looks like an E Ticket ride at Disneyland.

Youtuber "Itchy Boots" hired a boat to take her (and her motorcycle) around the Darien Gap, when she rode Ushuaia to Prudoe Bay a couple years ago. Of course, being an attractive 30-something Dutch blonde, that was probably a prudent decision.

2023 saw the largest influx of immigrants since we allowed Newfoundland to join Canada.

Well, I just learned about the 1948 Newfoundland referendums.

I had no idea it joined Canada that recently.
