Broken Mylar

How much of an effect on the suit does a couple broken mylar ribs have? One in the leg and one in the arm are cracked. I am buying the suit used so I want to make sure I am not getting a lemon. Thanks for any info.

Won't effect the flight of the suit, even if you remove all the mylar. Unless you do alot of back flying, then it help keep the shape of the wing alittle better.

the hard rib help in keeping a nice smooth wing profile in even the weirdest and most imperfect bodypositions (shitty backflying:)) and take a bit of strength out of tensing the wing.

But this is all mere percentages, and just taking the ribs out completely, you'll still have a perfectly flying suit. So in short. Ribs are fun, but on the older more breakable mylar, can be more of a pain, and taking them out makes caring for the suit easier, while flying stays just as fun.

Plenty of de-mylared s6-ses out there..so yea..no worries..

As others have mentioned, you don't need the mylar ribs in that suit.
I have the same suit with the ribs removed, it flies great.
Same with my V1, no ribs, no problem.

Just watch out for any rips that may occur due to any sharp breaks in the ribs :)

Same goes for barb wire!

Unless your rigger is really good at sewing, you might want to see if you can get one of the US wingsuit manufacturers like Tony or EG or Nick to do it.
I definitely wouldn't send it to BM to have it done. F16Driver on here sent his Firebird-R out there to get the Mylar taken out and he didn't see it for about 6 months.
