Ninja 2?

Recommended Posts

Was told over the weekend by a friend that he was expecting a (Parachutes de France) Ninja 2 sometime soon. You may remember that the original Ninja was grounded, does anyone know anything about the new one?

If i got it right, it was redesigned from scratch so it doesn't (shouldn't?) collapse anymore.
So basically it is a new canopy design, but it's marketed under the same name.
IMHO pretty stupid when a canopy is known to collapse...:S
The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open.
From the edge you just see more.
... Not every Swooper hooks & not every Hooker swoops ...

Icarus managed fine with that strategy.

Hi,
The grounding of the original Ninja has never been lifted.

Even a world class canopy pilot, Loic Jean Albert, has been lucky to be alive after his Ninja collapsed (december 2001).

PdF has good products (atom legend, Electra, tandem harness...) but the original Ninja is to be avoided !

Our DZ owner and his son are now jumping a ninja 2. According to them, it's a good canopy (they have 2000 jumps, and jumped the original ninja before it was grounded).

I'm not good enough to try the ninja 2, I can only tell that I saw them flying fast and then landing safely with their new canopy.

. Microlines strech/shorten a lot!
Ninja 2 has vectran lines

Vectran is a MicroLine.

The term Microline serves to catagorize line types that are smaller than Dacron and other "Parachute Cords"

"Microline" in common usage includes Spectra, Vectran, HMA and others.
